    Another excellent Rexing Product

I've owned several Rexing products over the last couple of years and they have always been great. This Wired to Wireless CarPlay adapter is no exception. It's a daily simple and straight forward product that does exactly what it's supposed to do. PROS: - Plug and Play (mostly) - CarPlay works exactly the same as when wired - Very small device - Both types of Cables included CONS: - Initial setup can take a few tries - It does take 15-25 seconds to fully connect First off, just in case anyone is not understanding, this will NOT give your car CarPlay if your car doesn't already have it. This is for cars that have CarPlay already, but only wired where you have to plug your phone into a cable every time to use it. This device replaces that cable and turns your wired CarPlay into Wireless CarPlay. When you first plug this in, you'll get a screen that will let you know to go into your iPhone's bluetooth settings and look for this under "Other devices" and then tap it to tell your phone to connect to it. Your phone should then connect to the bluetooth and you may get a message on your phone asking you if you want to allow/enable CarPlay. You select yes, and then your phone connects and like magic you have wireless CarPlay. After the initial setup, your phone should just connect automatically each time without you having to do anything. Now, that initial setup sometimes has a hiccup. You might have to try it a couple of times and might have to unplug, then replug the Rexing adapter. It's just something that happens sometimes when trying to connect your phone to a new wireless CarPlay adapter. It took me about 10 minutes and few tries, but it eventually worked. But after getting it connected the first time, I was good to go. Wireless CarPlay with this device works the same and just as well as my wired connection. There really is no difference. Only now, I can leave my phone in my pocket or put it on my mount with a wire attached to it. It's a much better experience and I'm so glad Rexing makes a great CarPlay adapter like this to use. The only thing you don't get from an adapter like this vs a car with built in wireless is the instant connection. With a device like this it does take 15-20 seconds for the device to communicate with your car and your phone to connect with the device before CarPlay comes up and is ready to go, but it's that way with all the wired-to-wireless adapters and it's still a much better experience then having to plug your phone into a wire each time. The unit is also very small and both USB and USB-C short cords are included to easily attach the Rexing Adapter to your car's CarPlay port. There is also an instruction manual in the box that explains the steps to connect. There's not much else to say about this product. It's simple product that just works and does exactly what it says it does. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who has a wired only CarPlay car.

Rexing adapter is exactly what I was looking for

I have a 2020 KIA Sportage, and I love my Car, I have invested time and money making upgrades here and there. However, something that I missed was that the OEM radio didn’t have wireless carplay, only wired. At the time, I didn’t know much about CARPLAY, so I regretted that I didn’t wait a little bit more for the next model that includes the wireless carplay radio. I wasn’t sure about getting an aftermarket adapter because I didn’t want to deal with unstable connectivity, lags, poor sound quality and end up disappointed. The Rexing Wireless Carplay Adapter is exactly what I was looking for. It’s small, and super easy and fast to install. Didn’t take more than five minutes! As soon as I start the engine, the Rexing connection links with the radio instantly and shows the CarPlay typical menu. Everything you do with the wired connection is done with this wireless adapter, all the functions and carplay features, songs, maps, and other apps work flawlessly. It comes with 2 cables, a USB-A to C and a C to C cable adapter, User Manual, Quick setup guide, warranty 18 months registration, and the Rexing adapter. My Car USB connector is a USB-A. First you connect the adapter, turn on the car, and then look for the adapter in the iPhone BT device list as “AUTO-CB16”, then pair them, it will ask you to enter the digit code to complete the pairing process but I didn’t need to. I have set up two phones, but in the case both phones are in range when the car is started, the last phone that was paired will connect. From what I understand, the initial connection will be through the BT, and then it will establish a WIFI connection, you will see the link on the WIFI device list on the phone, as “AUTO-CB16” as well. The Rexing Adapter is small and light, can be easily placed anywhere in the car. It fits perfectly in the tray just below the radio where the USB-A input is located. So there is no longer the need to have to plug and unplugged my phone every time I get in and out of the car. There is no latency, lags or compromised sound quality. Fast setup and stable connectivity is a plus. It remembers more than one phone setup connection. This Rexing adapter was a pleasant surprise. I am very happy and ready to buy a second one to install in my other car. Definitely highly recommended.

Seamless upgrade from wired to wireless CarPlay

I got the Rexing wireless CarPlay adapter for our 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy, which only supports wired CarPlay, to make use of the wireless charger and achieve a more seamless experience. After trying several other adapters that promised similar features, including ones with SIM card capabilities for Android, I was disappointed by their instability and frequent disconnections. However, this adapter has been a great experience so far. Setup and Performance: The setup was incredibly simple—it took just a few seconds. You plug the adapter into the vehicle's USB port, and for the initial use, configure the Bluetooth connection on your phone. After that, my iPhone 15 Pro Max connected effortlessly, and CarPlay launched automatically every time I started the car. The connection has been stable with no issues during calls or while using apps like Google Maps and YouTube music. This adapter does exactly what it promises, making the transition from wired to wireless CarPlay smooth and hassle-free. Pros: Quick and easy setup with no complicated steps. Reliable and stable connection with my iPhone. Comes with both USB-C and USB-A cables for compatibility. Compact, mini design that keeps the dashboard clutter-free. Overall, this CarPlay adapter is an excellent option for anyone looking to upgrade from a wired to a wireless CarPlay system. It’s the best wireless adapter I've used so far, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable solution.

    Awesome and tiny box!

This little box is pretty amazing! The Rexing Wireless Carplay Adapter is awesome! I've been using it for about a week now in my vehicle, which has Apple Carplay, but won't work wirelessly on its own, I have to plug my phone into the USB in order to use it - but no more! This little box plugs into that USB port with the included wire and then, you have wireless Apple Carplay! So cool! Set up is ridiculously easy, tell your phone to forget your bluetooth connection with your car. Then, look for the 'Auto' bluetooth to pair your phone with in the bluetooth settings. Connects fairly quickly, it's not instant but it's quick enough. So now, when I get in my car, I don't have to plug my phone into the car. One of my concerns was the size, was this going to take up too much space in my little console, but honestly, it's a small box, resting up on the side of my car's little console space, barely taking up any room. If you have been wanting this feature, don't hesitate thinking about the space this will take up, it's small, and not inconvenient at all. If at any time you don't want to use Apple Carplay, just unplug the box, then plug it back in when you do. I recommend this little gadget, it's very convenient and I like having it.

Works Great with 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I’ve been using Rexing’s original wireless CarPlay adapter (model CPW-1) for over a year and it has worked relatively well, but it can be slow to boot up and sometimes has a delay when changing audio tracks. This new model, the CPW-2, is smaller in size and appears to be a bit quicker. It still works perfectly with my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but there are a couple of drawbacks. === PROS === - Incredibly easy to set up. Just plug it into your car’s USB port and then pair your iPhone with the adapter’s Bluetooth connection. You’ll need to unpair or “forget” your car radio’s Bluetooth connection from your iPhone for everything to work properly. Once everything is paired properly, the CarPlay screen will appear on your infotainment system and it will look and work just like traditional wired CarPlay. The best part is that you can leave your iPhone in your pocket or anywhere else in your car and not have to worry about plugging it into the USB port every time you drive. - The CPW-2 comes with both USB-C and USB-A cables, so you will be able to connect it to any car with either type of USB port. - Compared to the original CPW-1 model, the CPW-2 boots up much faster. The CPW-1 takes about 20 seconds after starting my vehicle before my iPhone connects and the CarPlay screen appears. With the CPW-2, that time is cut in half to just about 10 seconds. - The CPW-2 is very small and compact and hardly takes up any space. It tucks away nicely in the small compartment under my Grand Cherokee’s radio screen where the USB ports are located. - My steering wheel controls work perfectly with the CPW-2, including Siri activation, call answering/hangup, audio track forward/backward, volume up/down, etc. No complaints there. === CONS === - On some vehicles (including my Grand Cherokee), the USB ports remain active/powered for up to an hour after the engine is turned off. As such, the CPW-2 remains on and connected to my iPhone even after I turn off my vehicle. So when I walk away from my car, my iPhone remains in CarPlay/driving mode until I get far enough away and it finally drops the signal. This can be especially annoying when my iPhone continues to route audio through my car’s speakers even as I’m walking away from the vehicle. And it can be a big problem if you live in a house with an attached garage where your vehicle is within range of the CPW-2’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals — your phone will continue to stay connected to the CPW-2 and won’t connect to your home Wi-Fi until your car’s USB ports finally turn off. The easiest way to avoid this is to remember to unplug the CPW-2 from your car’s USB port after you turn off the engine. But it can definitely be a hassle. But I don’t think this is Rexing’s fault — it’s the way the car’s USB ports are supposed to work, and I don’t know if there’s a way around it. - When changing audio tracks and talking on phone calls, there is a slight delay. For instance, it takes about a half a second after pressing the “next” button in Apple Music before the next track starts playing. When on phone calls, I’ve noticed similar delays resulting in overlap where I end up talking over the person on the other end of the line. The delay seems to be a little bit better than the original CPW-1 model, but not by much. I think this is just an inherent problem with wireless CarPlay. === OVERALL === Minor issues aside, the CPW-2 is a great wireless adapter that makes using CarPlay much more convenient. Depending on the behavior of your vehicle’s USB ports, you may have to deal with some of the quirks I described above. But for me, that’s usually worth the tradeoff so I don’t have to deal with cables — I can just keep my phone in my pocket. So if you’ve been looking for a wireless CarPlay adapter and are overwhelmed by all of the generic models/brands available from other retailers, then you should definitely consider the Rexing CPW-2. It works great and comes from a reputable company.

One of my favorite features of iOS is CarPlay. The only thing I don’t like is that wireless CarPlay isn’t widely available. My car came equipped with CarPlay, but it required my phone to be hardwired into the car and I hate cables. So, having a wireless CarPlay adapter seemed like the ideal solution to me. This adapter was easy to install and get set up. I’ve used many types of wireless CarPlay adapters and most of them utilize complicated menus and many of them have both English and Chinese menu items which make it very hard to determine what settings to choose. This Rexing adapter is a great upgrade from non-wireless CarPlay because the setup is effortless and doesn’t have multiple languages to deal with. I love how small the adapter is. It makes it easy to stow away in the middle storage compartment of my car. So far, I’ve not had any issues with it and I’m really enjoying having wireless CarPlay. Unlike other CarPlay adapters this one is super solid. I like how well it works. Will get one for my other car.

I don't know if it's the cable's but I've tried so many cables to get my carplay to work consistently but I'm constantly having it disconnect from my car's audio. Got tired of it so tried this Rexing wireless adapter and now the problem is solved. Maybe it was the constantly phone yanking on the cable but having the Rexing just stay in one place, I have not had a disconnect once. Set-up on the unit was super easy. They have a video on YouTube you can watch but it literally was only a couple of steps. Make sure your car has Carplay though. This thing is awesome. I no longer have to plug and unplugged every time getting in and out of the car. And the unit is pretty small so it fits anywhere. I did notice a little latency at the beginning, compared to the wired way, but it was so minor that I forgot about it after 5 minutes of driving. Definitely recommend

I’ve been using the Rexing V33 Pro for about a week, and so far, it has exceeded my expectations. The setup was quick and easy, and the instructions were clear. The video quality is outstanding—both front and interior cameras capture sharp, clear footage during the day and night. I really like the built-in Wi-Fi feature, which lets me easily access and transfer videos directly to my phone. The camera feels solid and stays in place while driving. The design is sleek and doesn’t obstruct my view, which is a big plus. Even after just one week, I feel more secure knowing I have reliable video coverage in case anything happens on the road. Highly recommend this dash cam if you’re looking for quality, ease of use, and solid features.

    Bluetooth Convenience

When I bought my new Toyota last year, the first feature the salesman showed me was Apple Car Play. It was a selling point, but I noticed the salesman plugged his iPhone into a USB port. I specifically asked if the Car Play would work with Bluetooth, and he professed not to know. I should have inquired further, but I had found the car I wanted, and the lack of Bluetooth support would not have swayed my decision one way or the other. It was easy to plug the phone in with a short USB cord and let it rest in the spot carved out for a phone in close proximity to the under-dashboard connection. But I quickly got tired of pulling my phone out of my pocket every time I got into the car, and then having to remember to unplug it and stick it into my pocket when I got out. And why would I want to have my phone constantly charging while using the car, especially on longer trips? I soon found out that there are a large number of devices that are marketed to offer the omitted Bluetooth connectivity that would make Apple Car Play the seamless experience I wanted. I have been using such a device for more than a year, and, for the most part, it has worked well. But sometimes, for whatever reason, the Bluetooth connection did not happen after I started the car and failed to reconnect to Car Play until the next time I stopped and started the car. This was infrequent, but frustrating. When I was offered the opportunity to text this Rexing device, I jumped at the chance, and I found that it quicky resolved the connection issue. The first question I had was how many hoops I was going to have to jump through to disconnect the old device and get the new Rexing working. It turns out there were no hoops to jump through at all. I unboxed the tiny device and plugged it into the USB port on my car that supports Car Play. Several USB charging ports are available on the car, but only the one under the dashboard supports car play. I started the car, and the Blue LED on the device told me the device had power. I then paired the device with my iPhone, and I was in business. In the several days I have used this product, I have experienced no instances of my Car Play connection not working. The connection is not instantaneous upon starting the car. My experience with car play is that is always takes a few seconds for the connection to the phone to complete whether you are connecting wired or wirelessly. And each start after the Rexing device was installed has been issue free. It just works and works seamlessly. Good job, Rexing! Highly recommended!

    CarPlay - Wires = Rexing

The main goal of the Rexing CPW-2 is to make a wireless connection between your iPhone and the car. It accomplishes that main goal. The details are not as clear cut though. The connection process was pretty quick and easy, it only took about a minute from start to finish. Reconnection each time I get in the car has been reliable. Really happy with the connection process. Every CarPlay feature I have tried works wirelessly and wired, though not everything works as well for me in wireless mode. First, and probably my biggest gripe, is the phone call connection. I have the same commute every day with the same phone and carrier. My first time heading home and using the wireless connection there was a ton of noise on the other end of the phone. My side in the car was fine but my wife could hear background noise just as loudly as my voice. I never had that issue with a wired connection or with a Bluetooth connection directly to the car. Subsequent calls haven’t been as bad but still worse than wired connections. The other issue I have is with lag. Navigating the menu is slightly slower but pausing and skipping tracks is noticeably slower. It does not make it unusable and I will take the slight negatives over plugging my phone in multiple times everyday. Especially considering I don’t want to charge my phone multiple times per day for short periods. Overall the few sticking points I have are outweighed by the benefits of going wireless. I also suspect that newer cars than mine (that still don’t have wireless CarPlay) may have a later Bluetooth standard than my 2020, which could help make the connection snappier and clearer. I will also say that the Rexing has been more reliable overall than the unbranded version I was using before this.

I appreciate them including two types of cables to go corresponding with the usb port your vehichle uses. Lastly, appreciate the length of them too. Other products are way too short you can’t hide them ya know?

Good but Some Differences Over Wired Connection

My review covers 5 areas: Install, setup, audio quality, connection stability over time, and value. Note: I used my iPhone 15 Pro on my 2022 Honda Ridgeline for this review. 1. Install: 5/5 stars. Very Easy. No issues. Just needed to connect the USB cable to the car plug designated for Carplay and the Rexing CPW-2 Adapter. 2. Setup: 4/5 stars. Easy, but had a minor issue initially that prevented me from successfully connecting at first. The instructions indicate you need to pair the adapter both to Bluetooth and WiFi from your cell phone. If you have your phone already paired to your car via Bluetooth, you need to delete the phone from your car's Bluetooth memory, and the car from your phone's Bluetooth memory before attempting to add the adapter. If you don't, you will have trouble successfully connecting like I did at first. Once I deleted the previous Bluetooth connections from the memory, it was easy to pair both Bluetooth and Wifi from the phone to the adapter. On your wifi connection, make sure "Auto-Join" is selected so that whenever you start your car, phone automatically connects to the adapter via WiFi fo a successful connection. 3. Audio Quality: 3.5/5 stars. Only one potential issue. First the good: The quality of the sound when connected to the Rexing adapter sounds the same to me as when I connect my phone directly to my car using a USB wired connection to CarPlay. I tried music on Spotify, Bible readings from the Dwell App, videos from YouTube (not while driving), and a few cell phone calls. No issues with the sound quality. The potential issue: There was a very noticeable ~1 second delay in the sound between the iPhone and the car speakers when playing audio from Spotify, Dwell app, and YouTube. It was most apparent with YouTube as it was easy to see the lips on the video not syncing to the car audio. I verified there was no delay when connecting my phone directly to my car using a USB cable. The issue is only apparent when using the Rexing Adapter connection. The delay issue is really only noticeable (and thus maybe only a problem) if you are interacting with the phone screen and expecting the car audio to match. If this delay is a problem for you, then you may not want this Adapter. I also specifically tested to see if there was a delay when making a cell phone call where a delay would be very problematic, but the good news is that there does not appear to be any delay with cell phone calls when using the Rexing Adapter. I also checked navigation apps (Google Maps and Waze) and found no real delay in directions, but I did notice that when using Google Maps, the last letter of the word appeared to be cut off. For example, "You've arrived at your destination" would cut off before the "N" was heard. Not a big deal, but noticeable if you focus on it. This issue was not present when using the wired connection to my phone, and it wasn't present when using Waze. 4. Connection Stability Over Time: 4/5. Good, but a few freezes. I've had no problems with my phone automatically connecting to the Rexing Adapter (provided "Auto-Join" is selected on the WiFi connection) when my car first starts up. Once connected, I have had a few instances where the Rexing Adapter connected seemed to freeze when I was playing music on Spotify, then made a call, and upon hanging up the call, the music stopped playing on my car even though it appeared to be playing on my phone app. To fix this, I just unplugged the Rexing Adapter from my car and plugged it back in. It reconnected to my phone without issue after ~15-30 seconds. 5. Value: 4/5. Good. Before getting the Rexing Adapter, I only connected my phone to my car via Bluetooth (not with the USC cable to the CarPlay slot), thus I did not have the CarPlay function. That's because I wanted to use a higher wattage USB-C charger for my phone while driving as I didn't like how slowly my car charged my phone when plugged in to the CarPlay USB slot. With the Rexing Adapter, I can now have the best of both worlds...I still connect my phone to a faster charging connection and have CarPlay on my car screen. That said, the Rexing Adapter is $100, and it seems a little expensive for what it does, especially when there is a sound delay issue when trying to interact with the phone screen and expecting the car audio to match. For me, the delay is not a big deal as I really only listen to music from my phone, use navigation apps, and make calls, neither of which had any concerning issues that bothered me.

Genuinely didn't think this thing would work, but I had $80 of best buy bucks that I had to spend in a couple days and this was the deal of the day with like 4 or 5 days before my bucks expired. 23 mustang GT here, I plugged into USB port inside center console, connected bluetooth to my phone from it and it works. Takes maybe 5-15 seconds to turn on when you turn the car on, but honestly by the time I'm pulling out of my garage it's on. Sometimes it doesn't automatically connect, but that's a Ford thing. Like sometimes when I hardwire in for Apple Carplay it doesnt work either. So that's no fault of this. Cool it came with a usbC to usbC cable that was so small, funny enough I actually needed one for when I connect my ipadpro to my macbook without having a long behind cable. So a little 2 for 1 No loss of audio that I can tell and I'm like a step below an audiofile. Compared like 10 times back and forth between hardwired and wireless and notice nothing of almost nothing of a different in volume, sound quality, bass, etc.

This has so many plusses, I'm not sure where to start! First, it's super small which is great, because I can put it a few different places, but I chose to velcro it to the side of the center console where you hardly even notice it. I didn't expect it to be so tiny, but it's perfect and does the trick. I'd forgotten how much I love CarPlay, because I'd not been using it nearly as much, since I had to have my phone plugged in to be able to use it which had been increasingly more inconvenient. Now, from the moment I step into the car and turn her on, I'm immediately connected and within seconds, the functionality is back on, and I'm full-screen up-and-running again! It's great - what a super fantastic tool that I wish I'd had a long time ago!

I bought this during a sale and had a $25 coupon, otherwise I don't think I would have bought it then. If I knew what I know now, I would buy it. This connects VERY fast, if I had to time it from when my infotainment fully boots, it's less than 10 seconds. There is about a 1 second delay in actions but other than that, no issues. I've used siri, and voice to text without issue, and phone calls are mostly fine, some annoyance with the delay but nothing that's a dealbreaker. I've had some weird bugs related to voice to text, but that might also be due to my car, which has buggy software in general. The only fix was to switch back to wired AA for a bit or let the car be off for a while. Setup was fine, I just followed the instructions that came with it. You can't setup multiple phones with this so be cautious of that. I'd say this is well worth it for the piece of mind of having a more known brand, and buying it from Best Buy. This is a little more expensive than other adapters, but I'd say the connection time is well worth it. I've seen reviews from other devices that consistently mention a 30 second or more time to connect, which is a big no for me.

The Rexing CPW-2 CarPlay is a great upgrade for my car. The setup was super easy, and the wireless connection works flawlessly without any noticeable lag. It's so nice to use CarPlay without having to plug it in or worry about cables. It’s really convenient for using maps, playing music, and making calls while driving. The screen is clear and easy to see, even in bright sunlight, and the whole unit feels sturdy and well-made. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable CarPlay option.

Worked perfect on my sisters IS350 which only comes with wired apply play! Shes tried to install it and failed so i had to step in. It was really qucik and simple. Just plug into the usb port of the car and wait a few seconds. Go onto bluetooth settings on phone and connect to “Auto ####” then Carplay logo should pop up. Enjoy your witeless music now!!

I love how this is nice and compact, and at least from a reputable brand. There are plenty of others out there for less but the quality shows. Set up is quick and simple. Sound quality is great for being wireless. My only gripe is the input lag. Song track skips take another second or two to respond. Great price at $50 or less.

The people at Best Buy knew the Rexing product line and what each version was capable of. So far I’m happy with the R4Plus and the ease of use. I had Best Buy do the direct install instead of using the plug in adapter. I was concerned that the rear facing camera would have difficulty seeing through my pickups back window and the windows of my cap. So the technicians did a mock install to show me that it would work from the cab. Great job guys!
