The Rexing CPW-22 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter is a convenient solution for drivers looking to eliminate the hassle of cables while using CarPlay or Android Auto in their vehicles. However, it’s important to note that this adapter is not a standalone device that adds CarPlay or Android Auto functionality to cars that don’t already support it. Instead, it is designed to convert existing wired CarPlay and Android Auto systems into wireless ones.
Key Features:
Wireless Convenience: The adapter allows you to connect your iPhone or Android device wirelessly to your car’s infotainment system, provided your car already supports CarPlay or Android Auto via a wired connection.
Easy Setup: The installation process is straightforward—simply plug the adapter into your car’s USB port, pair it with your smartphone via Bluetooth, and you’re ready to go.
Compact Design: The adapter is small and unobtrusive, making it easy to leave plugged in without taking up much space.
Compatibility: Works with most vehicles that already have wired CarPlay or Android Auto functionality. However, it does not add CarPlay or Android Auto to cars that lack these features from the factory.
Performance:
The Rexing CPW-22 performs well in converting wired connections to wireless, offering a seamless experience for users who want to avoid plugging in their phones every time they get in the car. The connection is generally stable, though some users may experience minor delays or occasional disconnections, which is common with wireless adapters.
Important Considerations:
Not a Standalone Solution: This adapter only works with cars that already have wired CarPlay or Android Auto. If your car does not support these systems natively, the Rexing CPW-22 will not add this functionality.
Device Compatibility: Ensure your smartphone meets the minimum OS requirements (iOS 10+ or Android 11+) for optimal performance.
Vehicle Compatibility: Double-check that your car’s infotainment system supports wired CarPlay or Android Auto before purchasing.
Pros:
Eliminates the need for cables while using CarPlay or Android Auto.
Simple plug-and-play setup.
Compact and portable design.
Cons:
Does not add CarPlay or Android Auto to unsupported vehicles.
Occasional connectivity issues, as with most wireless adapters.
Conclusion:
The Rexing CPW-22 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter is a great accessory for drivers who already have wired CarPlay or Android Auto in their vehicles and want to go wireless. It’s easy to use and delivers on its promise of cable-free convenience. However, it’s crucial to understand that this adapter does not enable CarPlay or Android Auto in cars that don’t already support these systems. If your car lacks these features, you’ll need to look for a different solution. For those with compatible vehicles, the Rexing CPW-22 is a worthwhile investment.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but this little adapter has changed my driving experience. Setting it up was easy , just plug it in, turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on my phone, and it connected to my lexus. Now, I can enjoy a completely wireless carplay without fuss of cables cluttering my space.
What I love most is how seamless everything feels. Whether I'm navigating with maps, streaming my favorite tunes, or taking hands-free calls, it works flawlessly and quickly every time. Plus it even integrates with my car’s steering wheel controls.

This is a must have for everyone! I got tired of always pluging in my phone to my car all the time. This .. you simply just plug it in, pair it to you phone and thats it. It's very small and usb C ports. It's a no brainer! just get it!

Works with both android and iPhone
There is a little lag if you are trying to watch a video as well
But overall it’s a good product if you have different OS phones in the family
One con is that sometimes it would turn on your phone’s Bluetooth even when you are trying to turn it off.

I have had the Motorola version of this for a few years now and being a long time rexing dashcam user, I decided to give this one a shot. The setup was really simple. It seems to connect a few seconds faster than my other one. For the first week, it has connected automatically every day and has not had any disconnects. Its been solid! I would recommend this to anyone who wanted to convert to a wireless option.

As a long time Rexing dashcam user, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this wireless Carplay / Android Auto adapter made by them.
Bought this for my daughter who has a 2020 VW Tiguan but has to plug in her iphone every time she wants to use Carplay, which is just about every time she gets in the car. Plugging in constantly can get old fast. She also has a Rexing dashcam that I gave her when she got her car about a year or so ago.
Setup was super quick and simple. Similar to setting up a Bluetooth connection to your car or to headphones. What she likes most is the automatic reconnection whenever she gets in and out of the car as well as the stability and reliability of that connection.
It comes with both, USB-A and USB-C cables to work with both newer and older cars. The only item it doesn’t come with is a Velcro type material to facilitate mounting it securely somewhere out of sight (if possible). While it’s not too big, I do wish it were a bit smaller to make it even more inconspicuous for those instances (like hers) where it can’t easily be hidden.
Glad I came across this device. Being made by Rexing gave me a bit of comfort in it’s quality since I’m a long time user of their dashcams, so I didn’t really need to think twice about buying it. And I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who might have a wired only Carplay or Android Auto equipped vehicle.

Unlike my previous Carlink adapter, I have experienced no lag and no sudden disconnection with the Rexing CPW-22. Set up was a breeze with my Oneplus 12R and Samsung S24+. Been having it for more than a month. I can't find any cons so far. Very happy with it.

Actually very impressed by this unit. Setup was a little wonky with trying to make it default to android auto instead of apple carplay, but once I got it working after some setting changes it works great. No lag at all and works just as you expect it to. 100%

Have the prior version of this model in my car and love it. When my wifes amazon bought wirelss carplay adapter started giving constant trouble I knew it was time to get her one of these from rexing. Connects almost instantly and everytime. Can even walk a decent distance from the car without losing signal

Works great with just one phone. Retains it's configuration even after being powered off and disconnected for a week. Also it didn't require me to completely remove the configuration for my phones direct connection, as the instructions requested. This was originally a bothersome issue, because I wanted my phone to work either way with or without this device.
What I haven't tried yet is if I can use it wirelessly with multiple devices with out a lot of fussing switching between them.

Finally decided to pick up one of these wireless Carplay adapters..hooked up easily to my Subi Crosstrek..ever so slight input lag but no where near enough to be an issue or distraction. In fact some stock car units ive used stuttered worse. Picked mine up on sale half off, cant beat it. Thanks Best Buy!

Overall a great option for wireless Android Auto. It takes maybe thirty seconds to boot up and connect to once my car is turned on. My biggest gripe is that I share my car with other family members and it will automatically connect to my phone even when I'm inside of the house and the car is in the garage. One other problem is that when I'm sitting in my car and watching a video, there's a severe lag which makes watching videos almost impossible. But obviously I need it mostly for maps and music while driving so it's perfect for that.
