It is NOT...it's FALSE ADVERTISING! Incredibly frustrating, as I had specifically taken the afternoon off to have their installation people install it. I only spent that money because I want it hardwired. So now I have to buy it separately and take another afternoon off to get it installed! Not to mention having to wait even longer to have a running dash cam.

Never buy any Rexing product including R4 Dashcam

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am returning the Dashcam and the smart hardware kit (for direct wiring the dashcam) due to lack of adequate documentation and the following statement in “Rexing connect” Android App (I presume this is true for the iPhone App too): “Our product integrates Umeng+SDK. Umeng+SDK needs to collect your device's Mac address, unique device identification code (IMEI/android ID/IDFA/OPENUDID/GUID, SIM card IMSI information) to provide statistical analysis services, and pass Geographical location calibration report data accuracy, providing basic anti-cheating capabilities.” We all know that no one can guarantee that the data stored in any internet connected server cannot be accessed by hackers for nefarious purposes. There are reports of massive data breaches every day in banks, hospitals, health insurance companies, government organization, utilities, defense industry and so on. Why does Rexing need to collect my phones Mac address, unique device identification code (IMEI/android ID/IDFA/OPENUDID/GUID, SIM card IMSI) and GPS location information. By the way, Rexing Connect App states it does not collect any data under Data Safety heading in Android Play Store.

The functionality of it is worthlessness! getting a ring to Mordor to melt it would be far easier than navigating this junk. The directions are pointless and their troubleshooting page only covers WiFi issues. FORGET GETTING INTO LOCKED VIDEOS !! I haven’t found a shred of info on how to get into them and they are not on the sd file like they say…

Parking monitor not working

I got this Rexing camera installed at the Best Buy in circle Dr in July to my understanding everything was hard wired and parking monitor should’ve been on. My car was hit while in park mode and the dash cam did not capture who hit my car. My rear bumper is completely damaged. I called Best Buy their tech is saying it’s a Rexing issue, I called Rexing and they giving me the run around. The tech at Rexing stated the impact have to be hard enough to shake the dashcam which makes no sense. However, the impact was hard because my bumper have to be replace. I paid over $300 for this dash cam and another $108 to have it installed. I will not stop until either the camera is replaced or my bumper is paid for. This is unacceptable.

Posted .Hi! Thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear about your accident! The camera does have a G sensor that only activates when the vehicle vibrates. It the vehicle is pushed into, it may not cause enough shock for the G sensor to sense it. Maybe the Intelligent kit might be best so that it can help with picking up motion as well.

The left amd right cameras can be adjusted to where ot is a good view for amy type of car.
