The explosion occurred and afterward, our car was not drivable. As of today, over a month later, the car remains in service at a dealership pending complete and furhter diagnosis at a current expense of $2300 and requiring a minimum of $8000 to further assess/pinpoint the issue. Insurance claims malfunctioning auto part and the auto manufacturer claims use of an adapter and cable were the cause.

My 20 ft mobile connector barely reaches my Tesla charge port so this extension completely removes any stress of the stretched heavy charging cable pulling on the port sideways.
