The Rexing V1 Dash Cam is a small device that does a big job. There are a couple of ancillary things that cause some inconvenience, but they don't affect performance. Read the setup instructions carefully, and setup will be easy. First, be sure you install an appropriate micro SD card (up to 128GB), or you won't have any recordings to look at. Next, position the V1 on you windshield as instructed. Plug it in, and you are ready to go. No muss, no fuss. When plugged in the V1 will automatically power on when engine starts, and power off shortly after engine shutdown. If you plug into an always on outlet, it will stay on, of course. There is also a manual on/off button on the cam. The wide viewing range allows capture of more than what is directly in front of you, which is a very nice feature. Capture is full HD in color. It's also sharp enough to capture a license plate number. The inconveniences, as mentioned earlier, are: Positioning the cam as shown in the manual places it where the driver can't readily get to the various small controls on the cam. I like it closer to the driver. Secondly, unless you want to position the charging cable as shown in the manual, there's a lot of cable to deal with. Both of these reflect a personal preference; but, as said, they have no negative impact on the performance of the V1. The V1 does an excellent job, and it is reasonably priced. I certainly would recommend it.

Basic set up was easy and took me about 10 min to figure out the controls. I was a little concerned about the need to route the cord from the device to a power port as the batteries are designed to keep the thing running for just a few min incase of an accident or other unexpected power failure. However I found routing the wire around the windshield to be quite straight forward. I did note that this requires a power port which was fine for my 2015 car. I have noticed that newer cars sometimes have only USB ports which would force you to purchase a cable separately. I have enjoyed using this during road trips and am happy to have it for security should that become necessary.

I have been using the Rexing V1 Dash Cam for about a week now. The results are mixed - Installation Rexing made it easy to set up and easy to install ( they include a tool to run the wire underneath the molding of your car.) The reality is most dash cams are straightforward but the addition of a installation tool was a nice touch. Quality of build Construction seems adequate but it feels a bit light weight for it’s size. Perhaps that is due to some type of thermal properties ( dash cams are renowned to have their batteries over heat. The plastic has a soft feel to it and resists finer prints. The buttons have a nice tactile feel to them. Video quality The video is 1080P and was okay in day light. The colors were not as rich as I would have liked but the picture is clear and the field of vision is excellent. The night video was much better than expected and Rexing gets high marks for that. Features Basic. Basic. Basic. Yes, it is 1080P with collision detection. But – no wi-fi, no bluetooth, no app, no included GPS, no option for 2nd channel rear camera, no included memory card. So this is a hard review. There is nothing wrong with the Rexing V1– it is perfectly competent for a sub $100 dash cam. It is a solid design that does what it is supposed to and will be perfectly fine for those on a budget. The controls are easy and intuitive , the ergonomics are good , the picture quality is good and it is easy to install. But for me, it just is not enough - I need a better feature set. I was looking through the the other Rexing products and for $30 to $70 more, you can get wi–fi, GPS logger and dual channels ( depending on the model.) If you are looking to spend under $100, this is a decent dash cam for the money. For a little more money , you can get other Rexing dash cams that are a better value with a more rich feature set.

This dashcam fried my SD card last month and did not notice me at all. Also the image quality is super low as the plate number of the car in front of me is barely readable unless both of us are stopped at the traffic light. Some very loud quirky noise in the video as well and I am sure it is coming from the inside of the dashcam as I cannot hear anything while driving. The customer service of Rexing is terrible as well.

This has been my first device in the dashcam world. Some of the things that I like about this cam are: - It comes with a 12+6 months warranty - Decent video quality with Sony sensor - Smooth video quality Some of the things which are missing/not that great: - No Wi-Fi to download interesting clips to your phone directly - Poor stick mount (mine fell down in 80 degrees heat) - Can't read number plates of moving cars - Dash reflection in video (an adjustable polarizer would have helped) - Battery (instead of capacitor) might be problematic in hot climate This edition is bestbuy exclusive, it came with the camera, charging cable, a tool for tucking in cable and adhesive stick mount. Note that it doesn't come with any memory card. I bought a 32GB Sandisk high endurance card to go along with it. In general, I found this camera to be just OK because of missing features mentioned above.

The idea of a dash cam is great, though they haven't quite taken off here the way they have in other countries (where insurance fraud runs rampant). The most-important reason to have one by far is in case of an accident or if needed for witnessed accidents. People can argue how something happened, but nobody can argue with what they see with their own eyes. As far as entry-level dash cams go this one works very well. I enjoyed using it overall, but there are some features I find myself wanting enough to know I'll likely end up going with a more advanced model: Good: --light weight--this unit is very light, but still easy to see and reach controls with the design --mounting guides to help hide the wires during installation --picture is nice and clear in most situations, even at night --has impact detection and a few other convenient settings --you can save specific recording periods without the new recordings overwriting them Not as good: --there is no on-board memory, and there is no memory card included. Not a major investment as even the micro sdx memory cards required are found pretty cheap these days. Still, even a little on board memory would have been nice. --only a power port (cigarette lighter hole for you old folks out there) option for charging--USB cable adapter would have to be purchased separately --adhesive mount doesn't hold up under hot conditions--you'll definitely want a better mounting system if you live in a hot area. --no wi-fi or bluetooth (which would be super convenient for simply saving recordings to your phone--as it is on this model you have to remove the card from the unit, then transfer it onto your phone manually) This is a great basic model if you're trying to get a dash cam on a budget (and the buying recommendation is for people that fall into this category) , but if you find yourself wanting the features I mentioned and don't mind spending a little more I recommend looking to one of Rexing's more advanced models

Wow, I'm really impressed with this dash cam. First off, installation could not be easier...just find a suitable spot on your windshield and use the 3M double-sided adhesive for the mount. Then you can slide the actual dash cam on/off easily. You want to make sure to mount in a place where it will not distract you but that you can reach the buttons in case you need to disable recording or save a recording in case of an emergency. Once it's installed and plugged in to your cigarette lighter it should turn on when you start your car (provided your car only provides power to cigarette lighter when it's started.) A red blinking circle on the dash cam screen will let you know that it is recording. It'll keep recording in 3, 5, or 10 minute loops, erasing older clips as needed. If you need to save a video you simply press the Ok button to lock it and the system will not delete it. A 64gb card will store about 11 hours of footage at 1080p. You can review videos right on the dash cam itself but the display quality of the LCD is not that high of resolution. This doesn't bother me cause most of the time the LCD will be off. The video quality when you view on your computer is excellent, even at night. Highly impressed by the footage this provides. I do recommend buying the hard wire kit and having it professionally installed so you don't have the cigarette lighter cord hanging from the top of your windshield. Rexing does sell extra mounts on Best Buy as well so you can move it from vehicle to vehicle. Pros: Easy to install Turns off/on automatically Adjustable Lens Discreet Microphone Gravity Sensor microSD up to 128gb Time-lapse Mode GPS optional Hard-wire kit compatible Cons: None In my opinion, for a $100 this should be in everyone's car. Think of it as extra insurance protection if you need to prove the other guy is at fault in an accident. It could also prove valuable in an accident that happens in front of you and you are a witness. Overall, highly recommended, I'm going to buy another one for my wife's vehicle.

The Rexing V1 dash cam delivers great video at a reasonable price. The first thing I noticed was the build quality when unboxing the cam. The dash cam felt very light, almost ‘cheap’, fortunately this isn’t an indication of the camera’s performance. The wide angle image is clear and colorful during the day and pretty good at night. I would of liked to see video stabilization but overall I think the image quality is good enough for most. Setup was easy. Practically plug and play, with navigating the menus being the hardest part. The provided car adapter was long enough to tuck into the molding and the V1 was easily positioned thanks to the built in display. The display itself isn’t great, but you probably won’t be watching yourself drive on it any way. The cam can automatically turn on and off based on power provided, making sure it is recording when it should. While on, it records continuously in loops of 3, 5, or 10 minutes. The clips can then be transferred off an SD card (not included). I found the clips to use 100MB per minute of recording so take that into consideration when choosing the size of an SD card. The V1 overlays the video with the date/time and you can add your license plate number if you choose. The cam also features a G-shock sensor to ‘protect’ video it determines may have been related to any accidents. This is to prevent deletion when it runs out of storage space but SD cards are cheap enough where you can get a larger card to mitigate this as well. TL;DR: Affordable, good video quality, east to setup. For the price, it does what it is suppose to do and I would recommend this for anyone wanting to invest in a dash cam.

I bought this item to replace a Garmin unit that had stopped working. Initially, the video was too dark to see while driving and after two weeks it kept falling off the windshield because mount adhesive wouldn’t hold it in place. Will probably return it.

I normally don’t write reviews but I need to on this one. After I installed the unit and turned it on and programmed it worked ok. The display brightness was poor and once you install it you cannot move it because you have to stick it on the windshield. Video clarity was ok. The next day I tried to playback a video and it would not playback. Tried to update the unit to see if it can be fixed, it would not connect. I returned the unit next day. I would not buy this product or anything made from this company.
