Very Effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pretty excited to get this product. I do have a dash cam on my GPS, but I really don't like using that very often. I break it out for the longer trips, but it's big and definitely not hidden. The Rexing is much less conspicuous and unobtrusive on my dashboard. I think it's more effective and useful for me as a driver, and it doesn't draw the attention of other drivers. Set up was pretty straightforward and I found the video quality to be really good. It's not quite as clear at night but you can still make out what's going on. There haven't been any occasions at this point where I needed to go back and access the video because of an incident on the road. But I've checked to see what it's picking up and feel like if there was an incident, the Rexing would pick it up. Pricing on this seems very reasonable to me. You're getting a lot of good features for a pretty small price tag. Considering other dash cams can run a lot higher, this is a great option for someone who want it just as a precaution. You never know what's going to happen out there.

Excellent dashcam, easy to setup, clear video
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rexing V1 dash cam The Rexing V1 dash cam is a basic dash cam that has many of the features of the more expensive dash cams do, record video at HD, g-sensor to detect impact (and preserve videos when that happens), auto on and off and more. Before we get into that, lets walk through the basics. Included with the camera are: (long) power cable, mounting clip and double sided tape, several smaller clips (probably for the power cable). I noticed they use the older USB mini type ports to connect the power, instead of the USB micro that you find in most devices these days. The camera itself seems decent in terms of quality and feel. The plastic housing has a soft texture to it, but not quite rubberized feel. The camera is very lightweight, that and the loud clicking buttons make it feel a bit on the cheap side. Installation was simple, find a spot where you want to mount the camera, clean it with alcohol, peel and stick the double sided tape. Once mounted, you have to route the power cable to the cigarette plug. I installed mine on an Odyssey minivan, the cable was long enough to router from the top of the windshield, around the passenger side trim and to the floor area. The power cable also has a handy pass through USB port so you can still charge your phone while it’s in use. This is great for me because my car only has 1 cigarette port and no extra USB ports. With this setup, the camera turns on when the car is on and turns off when the car is off (other cars may vary). So it’s great to capture events while you’re driving. But it won’t work to say, capture vandalism while you’re parked. There are ways to keep your camera on when the car is parked, such as battery packs and programmable wiring hardnesses where the camera will continued to be powered and cut off at a certain level so your car battery won’t die. Note: if you’re looking add a rear cam, it seems that this particular camera does not support a rear cam, although there is a port on the camera, the instruction manual notes “Rear Camera Port(V1 Not Support)”. With the built in LCD screen, you can easily review your videos on the screen. Playing the video on my MacBook, the video quality (at 1080) is clear and smooth. Overall, this is a very good camera at a reasonable price. If you’re looking for a camera that’s easy to setup and use and wont break the bank, take a look at this Rexing V1.

Must. Have.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I love love this camera. It's the perfect size and it doesn't take up much real estate on the windshield. The adhesive backing is still holding up. I've left it sitting out in the sun all day on 85 degree days, and it still feels stable, unlike my suction mount for my Garmin. The video quality is really good. Sometimes it seems grainy, and I don't know if it's just my Macbook or not.I notice it looks a little more grainy when I'm going down two lane roads with lots of greenery. Audio is really good. I have captured a photo yet with it, so I can't comment on that. It's added security, which I like. I gave it a two week trial run before finally having Geek Squad hardwire it. Some days the car stops and starts on short errand trips, and it hasn't had any sort of issue. Buttons feel kind've cheap, but nothing really crazy. I've caught very interesting things with it, including a fender bender yesterday. Sometimes it's nice to just watch the footage when you're bored. I only wish it had a parking mode, though...I don't know if that'd drain the car battery or not. It's a really great camera for the price. Is there better out there? Maybe. I don't know. My anxiety can't deal with the zillions to choose from. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who owns a vehicle. If you don't buy this one, at least borrow someone's if you drive to South Carolina. The only "negative" thing I'd say is at night, it looks like everyone is driving with their brights on. But it isn't terrible. You can still tell what's going on. I'm giving it four stars because of the night vision and no parking mode. Otherwise, it's great and I really, really love it! Design is PERFECT. You can't really tell it's there.

Frozen Image While Recording
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.UPDATED COMMENT: I previously posted comment with a 1 star rating about the frustration of having a frozen image while recording, Rexing had sent me a replacement dash camera with prepaid postage to return the defective camera. It's been a couple of weeks now and the new replacement camera has been working great with no problems. I even used it on a 1-1/2 hour drive with 1-1/2 hour return trip. No problems. Rexing stood by their product therefore I'm posting a new review with a 5-star rating.

Excellent Dash Cam for under $100
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with the V1 Dash Camera. I have tried several others and none of the compare with the ease of use and quality of the Rexing unit. I do also like that they are a U.S. company, unlike most other dash camera companies. The menus are very easy to navigate and the unit was very simple to mount. One of the best features is the tilt control on the front so you can point it downwards or upwards without uninstalling the camera. Also, the unit is extremely small and hides very well behind my rear view mirror. If there is one thing I wish they would improve, it would be to have a polarized lens. There seems to be quite a bit of glare that comes off your cars dash, especially when the sun hits right. If they didn't have one built in, I wish they would offer one separately. All in all though, I am very happy so far with my unit.

Great Video quality, easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this dash cam at no cost for an honest review. The camera quality is great. You can set it to 720p or 1080p. If you set 1080P, you can get a little over 5hrs of continuous recording on a 32 gig mem card, and 10 hrs if you set 720P. You can use larger or smaller cards, up to 128 gig which will get you 21hrs and 39hrs at 1080 and 720 respectively. As far as daytime quality, it is great. I was able to get a wide angle view (170 degrees) and I could get detail such as license plate from about 2 or 3 car lengths. One thing that impressed me was the sound quality. The sound is crisp clear, even when I listened to loud music. It wasn't distorted. You could hear my blinker very clear, a sound which could come in handy if you ever need proof that you did have it on before making a turn. One drawback is that if you get any of your dash, it will create a glare against your windshield. It is not a major factor, but it's there. Because I have a large windshield, I had to put it near the top and the problem is that the camera can tilt down well, but not up much. The design of the camera against the windshield makes it so that it views essentially almost at the angle of the windshield, so you need to put it high. If the camera lens was designed a bit away from window, it would eliminate the dashboard glare problem. Talking about glare, it also appears at night. The camera has no "night' mode or IR or anything, but it does capture decent video at night. The only thing is that it only sees what your lights are illuminating when it's dark-- what I mean by this is that the peripheral vision of the camera is not very good at night. On open, lit up roads, the camera does better and will capture good detail, though I was not able to get license plates even at 2 cars away. The camera was clear, but for some reason, maybe glare, reflection or lighting, it was not legible at night. (CAVEAT, Camera was on auto mode and not manual settings for this test) The camera comes with the ability to plug to a GPS logger to track where stuff happened (not included). The camera has a built-in g-sensor so that if it detects a sudden stop, the clip it records will not be overridden by the camera. It creates a folder within the memory card and keeps it safe until you download it to your device or pc. Last but not least, the camera is rated to work between 10 and 140 deg farenheit, which is nice because if you live in hot climate, cars can easily get to baking temps. The limiting factor will really be the quality of your memory card, so if you value your recordings in very hot/cold temps, get one that is durable. Overall, I do like the camera and would recommend it because it does as advertised and the daytime video quality and sound quality are very nice.

V1 Dash Cam - Excellent Features, Quality, Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose the shape and size of this camera because it is discreet. It has all the features needed for a front facing dash cam. The manual is clear and the functions are easy to understand and use. The company has a good website and they have support. This is clearly superior to the many similar looking and features dash cams I found on Amazon and eBay that come from China for not much less (after an extensive search, I previously bought one of those that turned out to be inferior and failed after about 6 months). Being recognized by a major retailer such as Best Buy is a plus, not a no reputation brand. It has an 18 month warranty. I would highly recommend it.

Device quality and company customer service superb
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say anything but positive things about this company and their products! This unit has so many useful features and the quality of the camera is very, very good. Unlike other cams, it's night vision is also really good. I had a problem setting up the device and their customer service representatives were extremely helpful. They are quick to respond to questions on their email, and have great overall customer service. Their products are top notch and work well. Their manufacture warranties are above the rest as they give you 12 months and an additional 6 months if you register the device on their website.. I would highly recommend their products to anyone, especially those employed with taxi services. A+!

Best choice for a dash camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a vehicle accident in which the at-fault driver lied on their statement, and taking 3 years to go thru the court system to get my vehicle repaired, I decided a dash cam was a must have. Determined I would never go thru this sort of situation again, I researched many products, read reviews, and finally decided on this product. This product is extremely easy to use & sits as a silent witness to anything that happens on the road. We took a road trip 3 days after getting this product and after coming home & connecting it to my PC to watch the videos, I was absolutely impressed by the video quality. I would definitely recommend this product and even bought a second device for our other vehicle. Great job!

Simple to use with mor than decent picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very simple to use dash cam which literally takes a few minutes to get started and recording videos. All you need is a memory card and rest everything is included. I am using the Sandisk 64GB High Endurance Micro SD Card, which was recommended by the Rexing Customer support when I contacted them. The picture quality of the videos is pretty decent although I have to say that there is no way license plate numbers of other cars to be visible in the videos. Overall I like this dash cam and believe it is at the top of the list of mid range dash cams, not too sophisticated with a ton of features and not pretty basic as well.

Excellent Video and Great Features for Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set-up for the Rexing Dash Cam was simple. Permanent use requires routing the power cable to a power source in the car. The plastic housing for inserting the cable into the power source works fine but feels fragile as if it would break easily if I put too much pressure on it. Once familiarized with the controls, I was able to take photos, short videos, turn the mic on or off, and set up time-lapse mode. This mode allowed me to view a 3-hour drive through the beautiful Eastern Sierra mountains (Hwy 395) in a few minutes! Being my first dash-cam, I'm still in the process of deciding on my best-case usage scenario. But the Rexing Dash Cam clearly has the features I'll need.

Good Compact Design with Many Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having looked into various dash cams, the biggest issues have been the ability to power them and the size. The Rexing V1 cam is a nice balance between size, features and function. It does have the ability to have a short battery life when unplugged but that is only a for a few minutes. The cable is longer and allows the charger to be wound around the outside of the windshield to where the device is mounted. The setup was easy and moving through the menu was easily managed. The quality of video options was good to address various memory card sizes. This cam is a good options for those looking for this type of solution. I would recommend it.

Reliable dashcam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m planning to buy another Rexing V1. This dashcam has good video/picture quality and a wide angle of view. I have had other dashcams before, and I enjoy this one the most as it is very easy to use and navigate. I appreciate just having to hit the OK button to lock a video when something happens. The audio is VERY clear. I placed the dash cam on the driver side behind my visor and it is very discreet.

Excellent quality, Easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this about 3 weeks ago. It had excellent reviews on various sites. It takes high quality photos/video and was very easy to set up. The only thing about this that has annoyed me since I got it is getting the cord set up so that it isn't in the way, and that's an issue with any dash cam. I put in a 128 GB mini SD Card and let it run. Hopefully I never need it for an accident, but it's good to know it's there just in case.
