I bought this May 2, 2019 after my Car and Driver dash cam failed. I upgraded to the Rexing V1P It worked fine for almost a year then the screen went blank. I think it got too hot sitting in the windshield in the sun. The adhesive that holds the rear camera failed after several months and I used Gorilla tape to hold it in place. Covered under warranty. The set up and controls are not intuitive.

My only complaint is the screen size is just a bit small to view when you have split screen on. Other than that great clarity and features.

The Rexing is perfect for both forward and back-facing video. I was quite surprised at the video quality. The buttons, menu navigation and "instant" capture features have a bit of a learning curve, but after you get the idea, it's basically set it and forget it.

Great product, ive had for a few months and I've yet to have any trouble with it. Playback quality is good though the screen is in a wierd position but viewing files on the computer is much easier.

I will start by saying that I have been using a different brand dash cam for a while now. I wanted to give this one a try because I wanted the front and rear capability. Installation was fairly simple. You can run the wires along the trim of your car to easily conceal them with the included tool that they give you. The first problem I ran into with this camera was the power connector though. It is the old style mini USB power plug and it is hard wired into a cigarette plug power adapter. These days people have lots of things plugged into their car and most cars still come with only one cigarette lighter port. So to use this camera, you take up your one available port so you cant charge your phone or things like that. I think it would be better to include a micro USB cable and then maybe a cigarette lighter plug with 2 USB ports on it. Which is what I ended up doing. I left the wiring for my old camera in, bought an adapter from mini USB to Micro USB and used my cigarette lighter adapter that has 2 USB ports in it. Yeah, it is more stuff you have to buy, but I think its more useful that way. Another thing I would have liked to see included was a second plastic mounting piece and a second piece of double stick tape. If you don't get it attached in the perfect spot the first time you cant take it off and reattach it without going out and buying some more double stick tape. While attaching mine I didn't quite get it right. Had to take it off to put some double stick tape on it to reattach it. Ended up dropping the plastic piece in the void between the seat and center console never to be seen again. So a second bracket would have been useful and i'm sure it would cost the company pennies to include them. So I ended up going to buy some velcro to attach the camera so I could easily mount it and move it and re-position it to my liking. As far as the performance of the camera. It was pretty straightforward to set up using the menu and the provided user manual. You can pretty much leave it on the default settings and be fine apart from changing it to do the dual record on the front and back camera which was off by default. The front camera was pretty good. I could easily read plate numbers and things while driving and see makes and models of cars on the back of them. It worked pretty good at night too giving good 1080P video that was comparable to what I had with my other camera. The rear one, I wasn't expecting much cause its only 720P. In my tests, I wasn't able to read plate numbers or anything like that of the cars behind me. Its more of a novelty to have that rear camera I think. I think a 1080P one in the back would be much more useful. One other feature I thought was pretty cool was the GPS feature that recorded where you were and the speed you were traveling and all of that. But that bubble was quickly burst when I found out you had to buy a secondary GPS unit to plug into the dash cam in order for those features to work. So for another $30, I think I will be skipping that. Would have been nice if that was a built in feature. Overall its a fairly decent camera with good front facing video, rear is very so,so. I would have liked to see a couple more things included with it and a different power adapter. But its a good entry level camera that will probably satisfy most people.

I was interested in this item especially with the way that people drive these days. It's nice to have an added defense in case you find yourself in a situation where this will come in handy with your insurance company. The dash cam itself is very small, which makes it easy for it to be discreet, but if you look, you can still see it. One of the things that I like about this is that the camera records in 1080P. The wide lens helps with your vehicle and displays clear video from this. The buttons for navigating the menus are a little bit tedious and I needed to consult the instructions to learn the buttons on the dash cam. In their defense, they made compromises to keep the unit small, so make sure you read the manual so that you know how to set it up. The added rear camera is another nice feature for the V1P. It's nice to have a front dash cam, but the fact that you can get video behind you is great too. You never know when you might need it. You can tuck the wires into the molding of your car to keep it discreet. This does take some time, so make sure you set aside the time to make the cables look neat. One thing to note, you will need to buy a Micro SD card for this before you can use it. I purchased one before I received the dash cam, so I was ready to go when this arrived. Formatting the card is done via the dash cam, so you don't need to format it on a computer. The power cable for the device is quite lengthy, so you shouldn't need any more than what they provide with you. The rear camera also has a longer cable that you connect and might even be too long for my car (2012 Scion xD). Over all, I will be thankful for this device in my car. I hope that I don't have to use it soon, but if I find myself in an accident where I need it, I know that I will have it.

first, the camera is great. has great resolution on the front camera. not so much for the rear camera. a few things that cause me to give a 4 star. first, you have to get a mini sd card for this. I feel this day and age, that should either be included, or at least have internal storage already. another thing is that the cameras can only be adjusted up and down. you cant turn them left to right. the front camera is the one that has the monitor on it. and the tiny screen is already hard enough to really see anything thru it let alone, you also have to look at it directly on. I feel it should have been slightly at an angle towards the driver. directions are also pretty much all for the front camera. my rear camera had a slide bar on it and not sure what that is for. no direction on it. and I wish there was a way to record and have the video do a third option which is to have the front and rear camera views together as one. as far as the setup, was pretty simple. had to do a little work though if you want to hide the cable. but pretty simple to install and use. had a micro sd card already and so put that in, formatted it and simple to record and capture video and then bring it to my computer and get the video off it. quality was great and can easily see. it separates the font and rear footage. it has a way that if you do get into an accident it will save for you automatically. hope to not use this but suppose if that happens and you cant or forget to save hope it works well. I like that it loop records for you. you can choose for it to save 3, 5 or 10 min. so then you just simply press the save button and it will save the last x amount of minutes you have it set for. overall, great price and great product.
