This is a okay dash cam. The front camera is anyway. The back camera is useless. The 170 degree angle is too much. All you need in a dash cam is 140 degrees max. Unless you like the fish eye effect. I did keep it because it was okay priced.

Just recently being in a car accident with the laziest car insurance company being involved my wife and I now find our selves being sued by the other party which hit us. Enough about that let's get into the camera. Install the camera is due to the features that it had thought that it would be a vital component in their vehicles to prove anything in the case of another accident in the future. For one thing for what you pay for the camera did not come with an SD card! However $20 that's okay. Whenever I hooked up the camera it was very easy and self-explanatory to program for a timestamp and so forth. I charge the unit the first time and installed it on my truck. The camera apparently kept shuting down and I cannot understand why after it was charged all night. The brand new unit with the lithium-ion battery has a bad battery and will only work while it is plugged into my cigarette lighter so I ended up ordering the direct wiring harness for it. Still waiting on them to come in. I just now recently went ahead and hooked up the additional camera for a rear view on the other channel to record at the same time. The camera that received did not work on my unit at all. I thought it might be the camera so I switched out the camera with my wife's camera and the camera still did not work. Thus forth went ahead and took her dash cam unit and swapped it out with mine in which the camera did work and to my surprise and it had a full charge battery. Awesome I'm now in business I thought. I hooked up the power supply to make sure that it would turn on and shut off whenever I had my vehicle on or off. The rear camera would glitch out and totally go blank. Unplug the supply and it would work.. the power Supply causes too much interference for the camera to operate which basically means it is pointless to even have those components that close together. I am returning both units and power connection cables that I have ordered . The other reviews that I have read apparently are only based off the single camera unit and not the Dual unit. So the only problem I foresee was going to say is a single-camera unit would be the possibility of receiving it with a bad battery straight from the factory. Other than that little camera and good quality on replay.

Great sized cam. Its small and out of sight. I sometimes forget its even there. I think if it were bigger, like some other models, it would probably get stolen. I didnt want to risk that

I am very impressed with this dash cam. As far as features go, I really don't know what more you could ask for. HD recording, stabilization, ability to ad a micro SD card, customizable recording settings, a rear camera and so on. Considering what most dash cams sell for, I really don't think you can find a better set of features for the price. Set up is amazingly simple. Hardly any need for the instructions. I was up and running in a few minutes. I like the size and the fact that it didn't come with the old school suction cup way of mounting (those never work well). I placed it to the right of the driver side of the mirror and it is not in the way at all. All the buttons remain accessible as well. Video & audio quality are good. I imagine in time we will have 4K dash cams (if they are not already available) but this is really as good as anyone needs. The rear cam works good as well. I only have that rigged up in a temporary fashion until I decide how I want to run the cable. I have a small hatchback so I don't think I will have an issue rigging it up permanently myself. However, depending on your vehicle you might want to have it professionally installed. There is a optional permanent power supply available for only around $10. I do plan to purchase this as the battery life is only ok. I don't really want to have it plugged in the the cigarette lighter all the time. All in all I think this is probably one of the best values in dash cams available today.

Rexing V1P DashCam. When I received this camera I was excited to try it out. I installed my best SD card and was informed by the display that the memory card was incompatible. I did a little research and found that the card should be compatible but I had removed it from my point and shoot camera, which was giving me issues of “wait for saving” once in a while. More research clued me into the fact that my best SD card may not be as good as it was when it was new. So I checked the Rexing site only to find out that they have removed the card I was using because of early failures. This must be what I’m seeing on my regular camera. I ordered the recommended SD card that Best buy does not sell, even on-line. In a few days the new card arrived and I put it in the DashCam. I was instructed the cluster size was wrong and to format the card. Once I did that all was well. I did a temporary install of everything in my vehicle. Routing wires along the sidewall and up and over the sun visors. Let’s start with the rear camera. My vehicle is a mini van. It has a large back window that is almost vertical. I wanted to be able to see the rear bumper, having evidence of someone hitting you is not good if you can’t see the contact. I was unable to actually see the rear bumper. I found that odd since the glass is so vertical and the bumper sticks out a ways. I got as close as I could and called it good. I’ve also noticed a fuzzy spot when you get close to something in the rear camera. It is obviously some reflection of something shining on the camera lens, I covered everything I could and couldn’t get it to go away. The front camera is a completely different matter. Although the supplied mount will put it on the windshield, the angle of the windshield makes the display screen non-viewable. When you look at an LCD from an extreme angle and it goes almost black, that’s what I was getting. I got out one of the many windshield phone mounts that I don’t use and worked for a while getting it placed in the best possible position. This is still not a great spot. I wanted to mount it on the driver’s side right next to the rear view mirror. With the supplied mount you can do this easily but then can’t see the screen. With a glass phone mount it’s much more difficult and you end up with part of the mount being in view of the camera. A windshield mount that has an adjustable angle would be a much better idea, and something that should be included in the box. I see no way the display would be viewable with the mount that is included. You have to have the display almost vertical before you can see it. The display is LCD and is very low resolution. It might be ok for young eyes, but not for us older folks. If it were larger then they could get away with a low resolution, but to be real about it, if it were any larger you wouldn’t be putting in your eyes path to the road. Comprise has to be made for size to functionality. The real test is once you take the SD card to your computer. I have run several road tests. I had read online that the video and the audio did not match up. This is not the case with this unit, I check it in several places and both the front and rear cameras overlay the audio correctly. Overall the quality of the video is acceptable. If you’re just looking to protect yourself in case of an accident this camera would do the job. The front video is supposed to be full 1080P HD. That’s the setting I had it on, I can tell you nothing is in focus until it’s within 10 to 15 feet of the lens. Anything down the road a ways is a blurred mess. Still it would be good enough if something was coming at you. You would be able to see the blurred mess come up to you, come into focus, and then hit you. There would be no question about what happened. It’s good enough to make out stop signs and street lights. The rear camera is supposed to have night vision. At night the rear camera was all black until something lighted came into view. At no point could you read a license plate with the rear camera. With the front camera if the car is within 10 to 15 feet you can read the license plate but not beyond that. I believe the night vision is a complete loss because the rear camera is inside the car. There is absolutely NO information on this rear camera. It is not listed on Rexings site and no mention of it in any paper work. The night vision might work if it were mounted outside the rear of the car but it shows it being mounted on the inside of the rear window. That is the only place it is mentioned. There is a switch on the rear camera, again Rexing has no information on this. The switch flips the video feed horizontally at the camera source, but only after restarting the system. This system would work perfectly well if you just ignore the screen. Place the cameras out of the way, get the settings where you want them, aim the cameras where you want them and forget about them until you need the footage. This is NOT a backup camera. The screen is too small and to low in resolution to be useable as a backup camera. It’s best to be mounted so you can’t even see the screen. The main unit comes off the supplied mount easy and can be removed to check the video or remove the SD card. The auto on/off function works as it should as long as the power supply is plugged into a source that works with the ignition. Bottom line is this. For the price point this system is a good deal. You could spend a lot more for something with only slightly better resolution and fewer features.

If your looking for a mid to low range budget dash camera with decent quality and picture and useless warranty. This camera is for you. I purchased this in late 2018, had minor issues within 60 day. Fast forward to March 2019. It barely powers up. Constantly loses time and date. And now im told i must either wait 3 days for a replacement without a camera and make two 30mi trips to exchange it or pay $200.00, out of pocket for the newer model and get a partial refund. Do yourself a favor and research several different options before buying a camera .

Had a BlackVue before this and I loved it but it had many flaws and at the end it stayed frozen. But this one the front view recording is great the rear view extremely disappointed. The 3m tape provided will not handle extreme hot temps and my bass system knocks it off the glass. No WiFi Connection so you will need a pc to view it so if your in a accident you’ll need to download by usb of card reader. I will recommend for budget buy.

This is great. I thought it was going to be a pain changing the card all the time, but thanks to the loop recording feature, I don't have to. It just records over old material so I never have to worry. A+!

I've owned several dash cams and by far the Rexing-V1P Dual Dash is my favorite. Very easy to install and setup. And love that it offers the rear window cam as well so anything they may happen behind the car is recorded.
