Great for both front and back views
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera works great and offers a wide angle of the front and rear. The only thing I do t like so much is the app. It takes forever to connect to the camera to try and format the SD card from the settings.

Good picture quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought 2 of these cameras for each of our cars. It is easy to use the sd card adapter to watch on the computer. I just wish it had the capability to watch on iPhone. Picture quality is good. Camera unit is large so could be an issue with cars that have large bases for their rear view mirrors.

Great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera Great installation by Best Buy , Front and rear camera worked great but remember I have a four-door Jeep Wrangler so if you take the top off you’ll have to remove the back camera it’s put on with tape so you can always reapply it when you put the top on, great picture day or night

Great Front, Great Audio, BAD rear
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been contemplating buying a dash camera for a long time. I investigate traffic accidents for a living and my job gets a lot easier when I am able to have camera footage of an accident. A camera never sleeps and is always honest. I wish more people had dash cameras. So when I was able to get my hands on this, I was pretty excited. I had this camera sitting in the box for a few days as I was waiting for decent weather to install this camera, but I could have honestly installed this camera in the freezing cold as the install was a breeze. I have a passion for cars and I don't like wires running everywhere. I even hate having a car charger plugged in to a 12v (cigarette lighter) outlet as I think it looks messy. For this reason I opted for the hardwire install. The hardwire install if pretty simple if you have ever worked on a car. It requires a little bit of research and reading of your owners manual, but it provides such a clean installation that I would never go any other way. If you have the hardwire kit, the fuse included in the kit is 15 amps and replaces an existing fuse in your box. Nothing tells you this and I would really like for it to be annotated somewhere on the packaging, but I am telling you that it is 15 amps, so hopefully that saves you some research. All you need to do with this kit is find a 15A mini fuse in your fuse box that controls a car accessory that is only activated when the car is on. Easiest way to achieve this is to check your owner's manual fuse box diagram and see what has a 15A fuse. Once you have a few options and know what is controlled by that circuit, get into your car without putting the key in the ignition and try and activate that accessory. If that accessory turns on without having your key on (i.e. power seats) this is not one you are looking for. If this accessory only activates when the key is on, then it will work. I used the circuit that controlled the rear sun shade in my wife's 2015 Ford Taurus SHO. This is only on when the car is on so it is perfect. Also note that this kit only comes with a full size mini fuse. It will still work with a low profile mini fuse, but may not allow you to replace your fuse panel cover. After identifying my fuse, I decided on mounting the camera to the right of the rear view mirror. This seemed to be the most centralized location that did not obstruct the view of the driver. It does't take up much real estate, but a person in a crosswalk doesn't need much to obstruct them either, so make sure it doesn't impede your view. Both the power source wire and the rear view camera wire are a mile long, but very easy to conceal under the headlined and other interior pieces of the car and took me less than 5 minutes to run both wires with the tool provided. With the exception of the wires immediately connected to the cameras, you would never know that there was an aftermarket item wired to the car. Clean install - Check! After having everything wired, I started the car and checked for function. The camera powered on when I started the car, and powered off 10 seconds after shutting the car off, which is the default setting for this camera. Function - CHECK! Grab the manual and define the settings as you wish. Most of the default settings are pretty good. A 32gb memory card will record 5 hours of driving per the manual. So I figured that I could have the camera loop at 10 minute intervals, instead of the factory chosen 3 minutes. This means that the camera will record 10 minutes of footage intervals until the memory card fills up, then it will start writing over those 10 minute increments as it needs more space. Perfect. Works for me and I can not think of a single instance that this would not work for. I also placed the year and model in the "license plate" field as I thought this would be more relevant than a license plate that could change every couple years. After a successful install, we drove the car around a bit, typical trips to the store, to visit family this weekend, etc. I removed the memory card and placed it into this computer. The files are .mov files and easily played on my desktop or even on my Samsung cell phone, which could be perfect if I needed to show an officer what happened during an accident while at the scene. The front camera and rear camera files are saved separately, which is ok with me. I started by watching the front camera files and WOW. They are crystal clear and the audio is amazing. There is a little bit of "fish eye" at the edges, but nothing that is distorted enough that you can not tell what is going on. My work has cameras in every one of out work vehicles and I think that this front camera is better than the far more expensive equipment that we use at work. Moving on to the rear files...ugh...what a difference. With how clear the front was, I was sorely disappointed with the rear. Grainy and straight out of the 1990s. I understand that this is a VGA connection...but why??? You would get better quality out of dusting off an old VHS and throwing it in the player. The technology is cheap enough and a basic USB connection would suffice. I don't understand the decision on cheaping out on the rear camera. Even though the quality is terrible, it will still be able to show what happened in the event of an accident. Overall, yes I would recommend this product. When installing and using you can tell that there was a lot of thought and time put into the design of this unit and a lot of small things that the designers took into account for an easy install. Having worked on so many cars that left me cursing the engineers that designed it, I can really appreciate the designs implemented here. Even though I would recommend this product, I would still push my friends and family to spend the extra money and get the next step up which has wireless connectivity and a better rear camera. It will simplify everything and be well worth the extra coin spent.

Good Price Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Rexing can from Best Buy is a step up from the V1P as in it comes with the Smart Wiring Kit. It was easy to install and setup. The app works great and makes it super easy to pull up videos for email, text etc. Stay safe and get a front/rear dash cam!

Useless
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two dash cams but I finally went to install one of them. on about day 2 it started turning on and off on its own every couple minutes maybe 5-6 times . After that it was on and off non stop. Pointless to have when it is off half the time and as soon as the screen turns on it turns off again. I am over the 30 days to return since I just hadn’t installed it. I just took it off and put it up. Useless. Also turned off when it was too hot which is also useless being in San Antonio and it was not even as hot as it will be during summer

Happy w/Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great unit, I didn't know you can update the firmware until recently. Update has Park Mode** if someone taps, it starts recording. Haven't updated mine yet but process looks painless. I wished I could have hardwired to fuse box with provided cable but my Jeep has fuses that are smaller so couldn't use it. If you have reg size fuses then you will be fine. Would have given it 5 stars if had the option or adapter for it.

Rexing on sale, the best?
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far the jury is out. One ultra frustration is the app or the camera are having difficulty connecting to sync. I'll call customer service. Understand this problem is not new.

Posted .HI! Thank you for being a REXING customer! For the app it is best to be away from any saved networks on your pone. Also, turn off your cellular network first, then connect to the device and the app. That will allow for smoother and faster connections.

Trying on a motorcycle.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm mounting this on a Honda Goldwing for the purpose of displaying what is behind me. I wear a helmet and the mirrors on a bike don't allow a view like a rear view mirror on a car provides. This will provide that view on the small screen on the Rexing and on my iPhone. Wiring is a bit challenging on this motorcycle, but should be easier on other motorcycles without so many body panels.
