Worst camera that I have ever purchased. I still cannot get it to work.

My first Rexing V1P didn't last a year. I figured it was from being in the windshield. I replaced the first one with the same model and also bought a vacuum mount so it didn't stay in the hot sun. This one lasted 14 months. I normally don't get an extended warranty but after the first one failed I did get the extended warranty and I'm glad I did. I upgraded to a Cobra.

Great dash cam I have 5 of them now oldest is 4 years old still kicking

This is my first foray into dash cameras, the Rexing V1P Plus Front and Rear Camera Dash Cam is a fairly compact unit with most of the hardware included to permanently mount the cameras. Included is the front facing camera (main unit) and a smaller remote camera that can be placed on the rear of the vehicle. Setup is fairly easy with configurable settings for video resolution, car tag name, time/date, dual recording, overwrite and other items. The screen is serviceable; however, I found no use for it to be on other that when first starting up the vehicle and configuring the unit. The unit powers on automatically when plugged into a lighter outlet if provided switched power when the vehicle is started, if you have a outlet that always supplies power the auto on and off feature will not work. There is also a “shock” sensor which places the video on a directory outside of the normal recording directory which is created on your micro SD card, ensuring that if you are in an accident the video will move to a directory which will not be overwritten. The unit also came with a 32GB micro SD card and SD card adapter. As for recording, the quality is pretty good, both day and night (even though I hadn’t removed the plastic film that protects the lens during shipping). The lens provides a wide range of view, sort of a fisheye lens but less concave and distorted. Colors are represented well and there are configurable settings for video and still resolution capture, sound recording on/off and white balance along with a whole bunch of other settings. Impressed by number and how granular the settings are. This model does not include a GPS sensor, although you can purchase one and plug it into the unit so GPS position is recorded. I did not install the rear camera as it is wired and you will quickly wind up with a “harness” like bundle of wires to attempt to hide (Power, rear camera, GPS sensor) which would become unsightly quickly. Overall this is a pretty good unit, with a lot of capabilities, configurable options and features. Pros: - Good quality video, wide angle/field of view - Built in rechargeable backup battery - Rear camera - Micro SD card and SD card adapter included Cons: - All mounting hardware is for a permanent installation, had to order (at extra cost) a suction cup mount to make this a more portable solution which could be moved from vehicle to vehicle - Wires can become unsightly - Screen is small, but not really needed

Camera no longer worked after 3 uses. Junk camera

PROS . 1080p forward facing camera. Great quality when seen on a computer . Strong 3M adhesive tape . Setup and installation mostly easy CONS . Low-resolution backward facing camera . Low light in rainy condition: quality is heavily affected . Too long to install the rear camera. Probably an issue with this type of camera in general . No extra adhesive tapes . Screen is too small for my taste I liked the cameras, especially the forward facing one. Installation was mostly easy but I had two issues. The first was that there was only two 3M adhesives. They are very strong, which is good, but I messed up with one and did not have another to fix the issue. The second issue was minor: it was time consuming to install the rear camera and hiding the wiring to it was not easy at all. Also, the menu could be easier to navigate. Image quality for the front camera is very good as long as it is not raining heavily. Night recording is also good. 1080p resolution makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, the image of the rear camera is not as good because the resolution is much lower. I did not know that. Otherwise, I would have not chosen this model. Every time my car was hit was a rear-end collision. Therefore, having a good quality image to read the license plate is necessary. I am not sure it would be impossible to read but I am feeling a bit uneasy. Otherwise, I would have been perfectly happy with it. The screen is too small for my taste but maybe they thought it could be a distraction if it was bigger. I am playing neutral here since you should be watching the traffic, not a dash cam. Overall, I found it very easy to use and liked the build quality. If it were not for the rear camera, I would recommend it to anyone. If you are mostly interested in a great front-facing camera, with a bonus lower resolution rear camera that is usable under good lighting and weather condition, I would say, go ahead. It is worth it. Otherwise, buy either the model with just the front camera or a model with 1080p resolution on both.
