It Sees You When You're Driving

When the power is off, it's off. Theat's the first thing you'll need to know , unoess you want to hardwire this thing to your internal system. Now there are ways to do it,but I'm no auto tech and I highly recommend you getting real pro to do it. Shade tree mechanics won't stand behind their work all of the time and leave you with all knids of issues. With that being said, it's not at all necessary to get a pro to make this thing work and keep you happy at the same time. there is a version of this that is a little more modular, meaning you can get the dash cam, cabin am and rearview cam seprerately, but this one comes with cabin cam already attached. This works for me as I can now see what was happening if I wasn't driving and or if I need to prove that I was paying attention while driving , before the incident. It comes with the cams and a couple docks so you can use it for a two different vehicals and the power cord. This is where I have an issue. The power cord is usuing micro USB and Iit premarilly the only thing that will sufficiently power it. There are a number of cool features , such as voice command, app support and wifi capability so file trafers can be rather seemless to your mobile device. The screen is really easy to see and it had really nice night vision. This thing needs a memory card. Mine has a 64 gb card, but I do recommend getting 128 gb or higher card. just make sure you get one that's compatible with the camera. It works with Android & IOS, so there's no issue there. You can still purchase the rear view camera and attach it to the unit at any time. All in all, I'd say it's really great buy. The photo quality and video quality is great. And again, it's relatively simple to install. It also looks really cool on the windshield. I reccommend this to all drivers. I just wish they'd move away from micro USB.

Rexing - V5C Plus 3" 4K Dual Dash Cam with Adhesive Mount I’m not easily frustrated by any electronic products, but I’ve found this model Rexing dash cam difficult to love. I’ll explain in my detailed review what irritates me. As I try to remind readers, you may find my issues trivial. The nice thing? Return guarantees encourage you to try this for yourself. In the Box: The combination front and rear camera, charging cord, mounting plate(2), adhesives(2), USB cable (missing from my box, but they are everywhere in my house), Quick Start Guide, cable management tool. SETUP: Everything is managed using the camera screen. Screen navigation buttons are arrayed along the bottom surface of the camera and include the MENU Button, Up/Down navigation, and OK button. My first complaint is how the button labels, which are what you actually can see, are not aligned with the the buttons, which you must push. The buttons are just far enough offset left to be irritating. Ports for the Micro SD card, USB Charging port, and cabin-facing camera are all accessible, but the power cord plugs in, angled upwards, towards the top of the cabin. If you intend to immediately tuck wires into the top liner in your vehicle above the camera, this is perfect. If, instead, you want the cable to drop downwards, it’s another irritation. There is another port that accepts a Rexing Rear Camera, but it is NOT included with this package. Only the add-on cabin camera is already attached. After following the mounting instructions I had an attachment plate adhering to my windshield and the camera pointed in the right direction. There was a Class 10 Rexing labelled memory card already in place. The camera can accommodate up to 256GB of memory, but there is a 64GB card provided. It needs to be formatted, which is accomplished by the camera. As I discovered later on, this formatted memory card could not be read by a Mac computer. In fact, attempting to update the firmware failed for the same incompatibility. There are several other solutions to seeing the video, so it’s hard to be too bothered, unless you prefer to view videos on a large screen. So, yes, I’m bothered, but you might not be. The device is automatically powered on and begins recording when plugged into a 12V accessory socket or cigarette lighter and the vehicle is started. There is USB power option but there is an accessory hard wire accessory. Holding down the Power button also turns on the camera manually. Pressing the OK button cycles through various viewing modes: front camera and cabin camera inset, front only, cabin only, OFF. The LED lights and red dot blink when the Rexing device is recording. It is (too) easy to stop recording by either powering down the camera from the underside power button or tapping the OK button. Should it be this easy? EMR Mode (Emergency Record Mode). Hold down a UP button creates a 20 second video that is automatically saved and locked. Viewing the EMR recordings is accomplished by pressing the menu/playback button. PHOTOS are taken by holding the DOWN button and are viewed similarly. If only the button alignment matched the label location. Either scenario could go awry if you press the wrong button. Parking Monitor: IF YOU HARDWIRE the camera to your car, the camera will turn on if the car is bumped. This is a nice feature but keep in mind the caveat. The default is OFF. RECORDING and VIEWING: Four methods should work, but I could only successfully use two. To playback a video on the device, toggle the MENU TWICE to enter the Playback mode. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to toggle to the desired video. Press the OK button to play. This certainly worked, but the small screen, unaligned menu and buttons, and the awkward screen navigation were not enjoyable. To playback a video on the computer, either use an SD card adapter or connect the device to the computer directly using the USB cable. On my Mac, the camera was not recognized so I had no access to the video files on the camera. And the card reader was equally useless, because the Mac complained it was unreadable as formatted. If connected using Wi-Fi via the REXING CONNECT APP on my iPhone, I was able to view and save clip captures with my Apple iPhone12. Trying to get a successful WiFi connection to the camera was tricky, but ultimately successful. Rexing support documentation recommends using a 3rd party App, TimaCam, if you’re having difficulty. Either App also offers access to a few of the camera settings. Oh, if only Rexing gave access to ALL the camera settings! Customer satisfaction would increase greatly. TimaCam was always reliable for me, offering most of the same features at the Rexing App. So, the WiFi approach, offers access to the clips for viewing and downloading. I would very much prefer a straightforward connection to my large screen Mac. SUMMARY: The Rexing V5C plus has a great image, a great form factor in the car, is easy to physically mount and offers both a cabin camera (included) and a rear camera (purchased separately). You can select what view appears on the camera LCD screen, or eliminate the viewer while you keep recording. Then there is the issue of retrieving the videos, sorting and viewing them in a way that’s convenient for me. It’s here I hit a roadblock. I can certainly view them, but not the way I prefer. You have to reach your own conclusions and you may succeed where I couldn’t. Users can fairly complain that the Quick Start Guide leaves users without sufficient support, no way to easily find answers to operational questions. Navigation between menu pages, getting to file management, and understanding the implications of various selections is mostly missing from the Quick Start Guide. I could not find a more complete instruction manual. I’m unable to recommend this Rexing camera but others will have more success than I had..

Dash Cam with tons of features

Voice commands, includes 2 mounting sets so the dash CAM can be easily switched to another vehicle. Rexing V5C is a major upgrade from my 2 yr. old device with tons of new and amazing features that are "must have" for safe driving, record keeping for unforeseen events and not have to worry about tinkering with your Dash CAM when you need it the most. It comes at an affordable price (lowest price in the market for same features and resolution compared to name brand ones) tag. I paid more for one that has fewer features (and video resolution) than Rexing. I was incredibly pleased with the features and the quality of the recorded videos in all lighting conditions. Design and Set-up: Small footprint and doesn't obstruct the view. Includes Main Dash Cam front (for outside view) camera and Cabin camera (for inside view). It records both the cameras simultaneously. The Front Camera records at 4k (ultra-HD) resolution while the cabin facing camera records at 1080p resolution. Set-up was a breeze, downloaded their app, connected to the camera Wi-Fi to enable video download from the Dash Cam directly to my smart phone. It came with two 3M stickers and mounting plates. I now use the same Dash Cam in my car and SUV by just clipping it to the mounting plates. They also included a cable management kit (plastic tool to route the wires and wire clips) and a 1GB micro-SD card and an SD card adapter. Features: Modular design to add more cameras to the main Dash Cam. The front camera facing the windshield has Wide angle lens with a 180-degree view and it captures the surroundings without any blind spots/areas. Video details are amazing even in low light conditions, which is very much needed for night driving conditions. Its modular design allows you to add a rear-view camera (mounted internal or external) to the existing set-up with ease. It has a built-in GPS so you can view the route data on google maps via the Rexing GPS player. The best part is the hands-free operation. I can turn on/off the screen, take pictures, record/lock videos, turn on/off audio, Wi-Fi, etc. with voice commands which I love it, no more fiddling with the buttons underneath the Dash Cam. Functions: Coming to functions itself, there are tons of features that I am still exploring the details on how to customize those for my need. The GPS accurately records the location and speed. It is designed to do loop recording at 1,2, and 3 minute intervals and overwrites the old recording on the memory card when full, but the gravity (IMU) sensor locks recording when an impact or collision happens. The best part is the parking monitor feature which I perceive as the most useful feature in the city I live in where car break-ins are rampant at public places even during daytime. It automatically records a 20 sec video when the camera (G sensor) detects vibration/motion when parked. This is a must have feature to claim insurance without having to go through the hassle of proving when and where it happened. There is a smart hardwire connect kit that I plan to order for full parking monitor capability. Hands down, this is the best Dash Cam I ever owned and the best bang for the buck. The voice command support, the parking monitor feature, the front collision and lane departure warning capabilities are great additions to Dash Cams! My friend who is a full time uber driver immediately bought it after he saw the features on the Rexing V5C- sold!

The Rexing V5C Plus is my first dashcam from this brand and also my first experience with an HD interior cabin facing camera in addition to a front-facing 4K road camera. It is a fairly large and chunky dashboard DVR camera with a 5.5” width, 3.5” height, and 2.5” depth due to the permanently attached cabin-facing side camera and integrated GPS antenna on top. The camera attaches to your windshield using a two-piece mount that allows you to snap in or remove the camera easily, while leaving only a small square of plastic adhered to the glass. The unit comes with a spare double-sided 3M sticker and an extra mounting shoe, if you want to switch cars or redo the installation. On the front of the DVR is a ½-inch 170° ultra-wide angle lens centered within a large bezel on a swiveling ball-joint that allows you to adjust the lens angle to some degree up/down and side to side. The lens cannot rotate, however, so when placing the mount shoe on your windshield, ensure that it is level and parallel to the horizon, or your videos may appear crooked. The interior-facing camera protrudes from the right-hand side of the DVR’s main body, and its 1080p lens is also on an adjustable ball-joint. This camera has an additional input jack for an optional third, rear camera which you can purchase and add on separately. The dashcam needs to be plugged into a powered accessory port (a USB port may not supply enough power) as the supercapacitor inside doesn’t have sufficient power to keep the camera running for long after the car is shut off; it’s just enough to allow it to save the last video clip before shutting down. If your car’s accessory port only receives power when the car is on, the camera will automatically startup and begin recording when the car is started; it’ll turn off after a brief delay when the car is shut off. If you want the camera to record continuously, you’ll either need to plug the camera into an accessory port that has permanent power even when the car’s engine is off or wire the camera directly into the vehicle’s electrical system with a hardwire kit. Only if permanent power is used can you enable “Parking Mode” which detects and records collision events while parked. A small trim tool is also provided to pry back the edge of your ceiling panel to run the power cable behind it for a cleaner wireless appearance. As the dashcam doesn’t have any internal memory, it comes pre-installed with a 64GB microSD card (supports up to 256GB) which can record up to 7.5 hours if using both the front and interior cameras at 4K and 1080p respectively, with clips averaging 80MB and 60MB from each. Clip length is fixed at 1-minute intervals, and the unit has automatic loop recording to overwrite the oldest unprotected clip. Protected files will take up space on the card until they are manually deleted or unprotected. The screen has a large 3” diagonal LCD and displays both the front and interior camera views on the screen simultaneously (picture in picture), however, you can switch to individual views by pressing the ‘down’ button. It also has voice control options with such commands as “take photo” and “lock the video.” I found the voice commands to be fairly responsive, and there’s a chime that plays after each successful command, though sometimes you’ll have to repeat the phrase a couple times before it registers (most often ‘video stop’ and ‘video start’). Note that there is no specific wake word, so it’s possible that camera may respond to similar sounding phrases during normal conversation. To access ‘Playback’ mode, stop video recording on the device and press and hold the ‘Mode’ key until the file selection screen appears. I did find this mode to be a bit finicky though and the device would often freeze when going into a file’s menu options or attempting to delete one. The dashcam has a mobile app, Rexing Connect, in the Google Play store. While registering for an account is not required, you do need to agree to their collecting data in order to use the app. You only need to login in order to share your videos online, though you can also use social logins with your existing social media accounts. In the app, you can pair to the DVR’s WiFi network using the password displayed on the screen, then you’ll be able to view and download the videos and photos on the dashcam to your phone, watch the feed of either camera, and take snapshots. It’ll even mark the videos you’ve already downloaded. If you don’t want to use the app, you will be limited to pulling the memory card and using a card reader (an SD card adapter is included) to transfer and save the videos/photos to a computer. The Rexing website has a GPS Player app that you can download to play the video files, but I was a little disappointed to see that the player doesn’t extract any raw GPS data from the video file, as it is unable to display speed, direction of travel, G-sensor data, nor GPS coordinates to generate a travel map, so it just behaves as a standard media player. There are 5 phyical buttons along the bottom edge of the camera body, since the LCD is not a touchscreen: power, mode, up/down navigation, and OK. The interface is basic and you’ll only be able to navigate the pages of the menu screen serially, meaning if you want to go to a previous menu page, you have to loop through from the beginning. The image quality of the front camera during the day is clear and detailed, with good color saturation and brightness. Timestamp and GPS information are stamped on the video files marking coordinate location and travel speed. Even at only 25 frames per second the footage is smooth, without capturing a ton of shakes and vibrations; when pausing the video, I’m able to read the license plates of cars within one car length. At night, the image is clear and colorful but slightly grainier, and there is more glare around light sources, so some license plates will appear washed out to the point that they can’t be read. The cabin footage is decent, though a bit under-saturated. The field of view is wide enough to capture the entire interior of my sedan including both front seats as well as the backseats. In dark conditions, the IR LEDs activate and the interior cabin footage is filmed in black and white but still produces clean and clear images. One thing to be aware of is that if the front passenger puts down the sun visor, this can block the interior camera from capturing any useful footage. Despite the wide-angle of both lens, there is very little fish-eye distortion and minimal appearance of curvature in the corners of the footage. The built-in microphone captures audio inside the cabin, and it is fairly loud, clear, and intelligible. The same audio is used in the both front and rear video files in the same time interval. You can create a ‘protected’ emergency video file at any time during recording by pressing the ‘Up’ key and this will create a new video file using the previous 10 seconds and the following 10 seconds for a total of 20 seconds. Interestingly, the original unprotected footage is also retained on the card so if you need more than 20 seconds, you can quickly locate the additional footage by the protected file’s timestamps, provided those haven’t yet been overwritten. Note though, that emergency recording can only be activated if the unit is already recording and cannot be initiated from standby mode when no footage is currently being captured. Protected files can also be created automatically with the G-sensor enabled (with low, middle, and high, sensitivity settings). You can take snapshots with the camera by pressing and holding the ‘Down’ button at any time. If you don’t want the live view on all the time, toggle LCD power save mode to switch off the display after 1 or 3 minutes. Overall, the V5C Plus is a pretty standard and basic dashboard camera. The video footage and audio captured are clear, smooth, and detailed. Both the interior and front cameras have a generously wide field of view without distortion and have decent color, saturation, and brightness. Nighttime footage can be more difficult to make out and glare is an issue, so when paired with the low frame rate makes capturing details like license plates less likely in the dark. GPS and date/time information are stamped in the video footage. The voice commands are a neat addition but somewhat superfluous, and they don’t always trigger on the first try. The app conveniently lets you download and view the videos to a phone via WiFi.

I found that having a dash cam is a must in and around the city I live in. This is my third dash cam and I think this one would be great for uber/lyft. When you start the car the camera automatically turns on and makes a sound to let you know its working. The screen also turns on to show what its recording, front and back. The screen will stay on during your entire trip so I mounted mine a little behind the mirror so it would not be distracting. This camera records out the front windshield and also inside the car which also shows out the back window. I think having a rear camera would be better, but I think this setup would work fine if there was ever an accident. The camera recording quality is great, everything is easy to see during play back. The pictures I included do not do it justice as the video recording looks much better. I removed the SD card to do playback on my computer. The SD card is formatted to show separate recordings of front and inside the car. The SD card also had the following options to open: Event Normal (where I found the videos) Parking Photo Share I was unable to use the other options as I only drove to work and home. I do have the camera setup to show for parking and events, but nothing has happened the last few days. The camera attaches to the windshield with two tape and a plastic holder. The tape is very strong and the holder was easy to slide the camera in and out of. Rexing was nice enough to provided two the plastic holders and two way tape. This is nice if you want to use this camera in two different vehicles, The reason I did not give this camera 5 stars is due to the power cord. My last cameras I was able to setup inside the comfort of my home, made sure it could connect to wifi/phone, etc. This camera does not work of USB at all (manual even says it will not). You have to use the supplied auxiliary power outlet (cigarette lighter). This means I had to sit in my car to setup and test the system instead of doing it inside my home. However it was pretty simple to setup and get working right away.

Decent Cameras, Bad Display And User Interface

have been testing the Rexing V5C dual dash cam for a week. Overall, it is a decent dash cam for rideshare drivers, shuttle drivers and anyone that needs to monitor the interior of their vehicle. This dash cam has some good features, but also some flaws can easily ruin a first impression. Installation was simple. Just like most other dash cams it uses 3M double sided tape to mount it on the windshield. Then, I had the choice of running the power cable around the headliner and pillar trims to a 12-volt lighter socket. or just letting it dangle down to the lighter socket. Unfortunately, I had to do the latter because of the placement of the lighter socket on my F-150. After I installed the camera, all I had to do was position the front camera to the center of the road and the interior camera to be centered on the interior. As for video quality, the cameras are great. In daylight both cameras are clear, have an excellent field of view, and good color representation. At night, the front camera is also clear but sometimes struggles to capture license plates. The interior camera switches to infrared and does an excellent job of capturing facial features. Earlier I mentioned that the camera has a couple of flaws. One of them is the built-in display. I love that it is 3-inches which is large for a dash cam. However, the color representation of the display is horrible because it had an annoying blue tint to it. (Luckily, the recorded video did not). Another flaw was the user interface. The menu was difficult to navigate. It would frequently freeze or get stuck between two menus and the only way to get back to a usable state was to unplug the camera. With all that said, this camera will have initial annoyances. But if you only plan to set it and forget it, it will meet your needs and provide great video quality.

This Rexing V5C dash cam will replace the old Rexing dash cam that I have been using for four years. The moment I unboxed the camera and held it in my hands, I realized how lightweight and compact this version is; besides, it is modular, which is an excellent feature for adding cameras. Furthermore, the design is innovative, and the cabin camera connects via a mini USB port to the front cameras. The front camera is adjustable, which helped me adjust the lens view when I mounted it to the windshield. The front camera delivers a wide-angle 4K video recording while the cabin camera is 1080p with infrared. Unfortunately, the screen is not touchable, which is kind of awkward. I hope it had a touchscreen just to make screen navigation much more effortless. However, the bottom side of the camera is where all the controls are. There is no built-in battery, so it must be plugged in through the cigarette cable. However, the setup is straightforward, and the camera boots up quickly. Recording with this dashcam is excellent, and the resolution is even better. Wifi connectivity is a hassle-free feature. Once enabled on the camera, I launched the Rexing Connect app on my iPhone. I ensured that my iPhone wifi was connected to the dash cam wifi network (wifi SSID and password appear on the camera screen when wifi is enabled). Few things I could do when connected to wifi. One is transferring the recorded files. Second, change the camera view and switch between photo and video modes. Also, I could preview the recorded clips in the app, but honestly, I used the app only to transfer my recorded clips. Also, the camera can be hooked up via USB to a PC to download the clips. The G sensor is adjustable to detect street bumps or vibrations that trigger the camera to record. However, the feature of 24 hours parking monitor is disabled unless the smart hardwire kit is purchased separately. My thoughts are mixed. I liked the clarity of the camera, the ease of mounting it, the modular feature, and the smooth experience of the Rexing Connect app on the smartphone. Nevertheless, I wish it had a touchscreen and more options to connect the camera, like hardwiring, other than the cigarette cable adaptor. The cigarette cable is dangling across the infotainment system, which is ugly and completely obstructs my access to my infotainment screen. But the dash cam does the work, and the video recording is super clear and works flawlessly. The box comes with a cigarette cable adaptor, two mounting brackets, 3M adhesive pads, a removal tool, and a 64G SD card.

Pretty good dash cam and does what I needed it to do. Take great video built in GPS that tracks speed. I'm not a ridesharing driver but I did get the rear facing camera for police interaction. Yes, I do get harassed by them so I let them know I am recording our interaction. Pros: Great video. Microphone is excellent and also the night video when driving. Formatting can be done from the camera (not uncommon) but I do like that as well. Rear facing camera has excellent quality as well. Cons: App isn't very intuitive. Very difficult getting the wifi to work on your phone. Voice controls are a little clunky. Sometimes you are in the car having a conversation and the unit does a function that you didn't request. Also, when you try to request a function, you may have to repeat it several times before it works.

The Rexing V5C set includes the dash roadway camera, a pre-attached cabin camera, two adhesive mounts (for swapping between vehicles or a spare), power cord, 64GB Rexing branded SD card and playback adapter, and cable management tools for concealing the wire. Physical installation is easy and straightforward. The camera is easy to mount, and the power wire was easy to conceal although it ultimately depends on the vehicle. Both the front and rear camera lenses are adjustable, which is helpful because the rear cabin camera was initially pointed too far towards the passenger side. I was quickly able to adjust the lens viewing angle to capture more of the entire cabin. The vehicle’s rear-view mirror also obstructs quite a bit of the rear camera viewing area. I was able to point the lens farther down away from the mirror, but it still takes up a lot of the frame and I can’t move the camera any lower without potentially running afoul of two vehicle laws in my state. The camera’s screen quality is okay. It has picture-in-picture for the front and rear cameras and is easily viewable in bright daylight and at night. The rear camera video has a purplish hue which appears both on-screen and in recorded files. It makes light-colored items appear pink. I included two pics where light colored seat belts, trees, grass, and shirt all both appear pink in the footage. Front camera video looks much better both on screen and in the video files. Front video is crisp and clear which allows me to easily read license plates, road signs, and other potentially important recorded data. Sound recording is unpredictable. I verified sound recording is deactivated but the camera sometimes records sound regardless of the setting. I took a long drive with the radio on, and the resultant videos were totally silent. Yet, my daughters drove the car an hour after me and it recorded most of their conversation. Best advice I can give is to assume sound is always being recorded. The camera plays a startup tone but is silent on shutdown. Like most dash cams, videos are recorded in brief continuous intervals and timestamped with GPS coordinates. Video files are saved in HVEC format with a .mp4 extension. The HVEC files may not play on some PC’s without first installing an additional HEVC codec. The codec can be purchased but is easy to find it for free from reliable sources like your PC manufacturer with a little web searching. The supplied SD card is Rexing branded. I don’t know who actually manufactures these cards but they’re not very good. Video transfer speeds are slow, even in speedy card readers. It took me nearly 90 minutes to download 16GB worth of footage because the file transfer speed was so slow, and the card also kept crashing my system on larger transfers. I might try the brand recommended in the Rexing user guide because the card bundled with the camera is too flaky. The Rexing V5C camera is a decent performer for actual recording. Both the front and rear cameras produce crisp clear video, despite the purplish hue of the rear camera. The FHD rear video is still crisp, sharp, and usable if necessary. The problem is there are several cons in other areas. I’ve already shared minor cons like the purplish hue and rearview mirror obstruction of the rear camera. I’ve also shared my annoying experience with the bundled SD card. All that pales in comparison to the Rexing Connect companion app. The app isn’t mandatory thanks to the physical on-camera buttons, and it’s a good thing that it isn’t. It was a royal pain to sync and get working properly. First, I couldn’t connect the app to the camera. There is no way to connect directly via Bluetooth and the Wi-Fi direct wasn’t working as specified. I tried seeking assistance in-app but when I pushed two in-app help tiles (respectively labeled How to Connect and Troubleshooting Guide), both instead navigated me to advertisement splash pages for additional Rexing products. When I finally got the app working after much trial and error, I realized it doesn’t really do much. It can play and download captured content directly from the camera to a smartphone via Wi-Fi-direct but that’s about the only useful feature. It seems more like a social media hub for sharing footage. Speaking of which, the app strongly encourages logging in with a popular social media account, but an email account option is available at the bottom. Lastly, the camera’s operating temperature range is 20F-176F. That could pose problems for those of us in colder states where it frequently goes below 20-degrees in the winter. I’m sure the camera works fine after the car warms up, but I’m concerned about the first few minutes the car is started in sub-freezing temps when the interior is the same temperature as outside. I like the front captured footage of the Rexing V5C. The rear footage is not perfect due to the purplish tint but is passable and clear despite the tint. The other flaws however, are annoying enough to give me pause on recommending. I’ve used numerous dash cams from several manufacturers. After seeing what else is available out there, both more and less expensive, it's hard for me to recommend the V5C over some of the competition.

This 4K dual dash cam is a good choice. It makes my driving safer. This is a high-quality dash cam with a sharp 4K resolution and a wide-angle lens that captures clear footage from the vehicle's front and rear. The dual band wifi GPS feature allows for real-time tracking and monitoring of current location. The setup and installation process are straightforward and easy to follow.

The quality of the camera is pretty good for both cameras. Installation was easy to set up but the tool to tuck the wiring is a little short to work with. Interface and app for the camera is a little outdated but it does its job. You can't adjust the cabin camera up or down but you are able to move the lens. The only thing is that bothers me is that it won't hold a charge when you use the supplied power cord. You would have to purchase the smart hardwire kit in order to use the 24hr parking monitor. However, this is my first dash cam so I don't know if all dash cams require some type of kit for 24hr monitoring.

I recently purchased the Rexing 3" 4K Dual Dash Cam with Dual Band WiFi GPS and Adhesive Mount, and I must say, I am incredibly impressed with its performance. This dash cam is an excellent investment for anyone who wants to ensure their safety while driving. First of all, the 4K video quality is simply stunning, providing crystal clear footage of the road ahead. The dual lens design ensures that you capture everything happening on the road, including any incidents that occur behind you. The GPS function is also an added bonus, allowing you to track your route and monitor your speed, making it a great tool for both personal and professional use. The dual band WiFi feature allows for seamless and convenient transfer of footage to your smartphone or other devices, making it easy to review and share footage with others. The adhesive mount is easy to install and provides a secure and stable attachment to your windshield. Overall, I highly recommend the Rexing 3" 4K Dual Dash Cam with Dual Band WiFi GPS and Adhesive Mount. It is an outstanding product that delivers excellent performance and reliability, making it a great investment for anyone who wants to ensure their safety while driving.

    Good camera with bad software

I consider myself very tech savvy but the installation for this camera was not the easiest and definitely recommend looking at the instructions bc it’s not as intuitive as you would think. The instructions are just okay and don’t do a good job at fully explaining all the the steps you need to do in order to set it up. A little annoyance that I ran into was when trying to install it I couldn’t find the 3M tape to mount it to my windshield and out of frustration I tried using the cable management clips to mount it ( that obviously didn’t work as I took my first turn in my car and the camera was on the floor) so I went back inside found the box and looked inside and the 3m adhesive was stuck to the inside of the box. I recommend Rexing putting these in a little ziplock baggy going forward. But once you have the camera installed pairing it with the app can be annoying because you have to do it through wifi and their dedicated app and the wifi name for device is not located in the setting options but from the Home Screen with the camera on which is kinda of a weird place to access that information. So once paired with the camera you have to be on the wifi signal to access the app which is kinda dumb and would have preferred if they used Bluetooth as it makes using your phone to accessible to other apps while connected to the cameras wifi, which is annoying. And you can only access your videos while you are connected on the wifi or your take the SD card out and load it to your computer Navigating the menus is also not the best in that you use up arrow and down arrow buttons located on the bottom of the camera, wish they would have gone with a touch screen which would make interacting with the device way more easier. That being said once you have everything up and running it is a good camera with clear picture and for someone that drives for a living it’s a good product to have in case of accident or potential incident that you want to have a recording of. So in conclusion if they upgrade their software I think this is a great product but till then it’s just ok.

I was in the market for a new dash cam. This ticked off a few boxes that I was looking at within the included features. I wanted 4k recording resolution, app control, GPS, and collision sensing. This has all of that PLUS some features I didn't know I wanted like the ability to connect 3 channels (2 channels are included in this kit with the cabin camera), voice control, SD card recording up to 256GB, and 3" LCD screen. Right out of the box, it looked easy enough to setup. It comes with everything you need to possibly mount it to your windshield via a very heavy duty 3m adhesive tape and mount. I was easily able to wire it through the top headliner and down the passenger side A pillar and under the dash to the power port on my Nissan 370z. I like it so much that I will be purchasing the hardwire kit to have it connected via the battery and free up my power port. Being able to hardwire also allows you to turn on collision/bump detection when you are not in the car with it on. I was able to download the Rexing Connect app on my Android phone and was able to turn on wifi on the camera to allow the app to sync up. Using the screen on the camera itself is nice. They hardware buttons are a nice touch too although navigating the menu on it is not all that great. I do want to note that this is the Rexing V5C PLUS "Bestbuy Edition" and from what I researched between this and a regular Rexing V5C, is you get an SD card adapter to use with the included micro SD. It would have also been nice to have gotten the hardwire kit included. Now for overall quality results are good. The camera itself is made of decent hard plastic and looks good. The video quality is good from morning to just about late afternoon. Where it suffers is at night time driving. Between all the glare and inability to identify signs until you are very close by it is hard to justify depending on capturing good night time video. I do think that a lot of dash cams suffer when it comes to night time video but I feel like some software can help make up and edit automatically with some cameras.

Straight out of the box I test fit this against the windshield of an F150 and a Camry. It would fit either but they both have dash cams so I moved on to the vehicle it was intended for - a Jeep. Guess what ? You can't install this against the glass in a Jeep. The lens angle is somewhat adjustable but the rake of the mount for the glass is not. Oh well. Moving on - after juggling dash cams - I installed this in a Toyota Camry. The cable management clips and nylon tool were a nice touch for routing the USB wire. I chose to hard wire a tap on an aux fuse, fusing that of course so that I could take advantage of the record when parked feature. Overall - The quality of recorded video, the time stamping etc. . .it all delivers as promised. Application support appears to be completely lacking for android at the time of this review. The app available for iphone/apple works for basic functionality and to adjust some settings. Comparing to the apps for two other brands of dash-cams we currently own (Pioneer, Kenwood) I would say they all work similarly in terms of app function. For us, this is mostly a "set it and forget it" device. I don't plan to pull videos unless I have to and I'm perfectly comfortable just swapping the memory card out from the camera. The microsd card is easily accessible in case you need to swap or retrieve content directly. What I love - 18 Month warranty - Aggressive price for features ! Can be hardwired for monitoring while parked. Extra mount + Nylon spudger tool included ! Not so great - Near vertical windshield ? ( Jeep, Land Rover....) - This will not install ! Iphone App - It's functional but very rudimentary. Android play store app - Non-existent. Proprietary power ? - Did not check supply voltage but does not work on normal USB.

This camera is very clear. It has all the features I was looking for. Front view, cabin view, wide angle, IR vision for better view at night. Parking mode , there's 3 parking modes, not sure what they mean , (medium, high, low ) maybe it refers to car battery usage ? It also has GPS installed , Voice command, you can take photos with it. The Camera angles can be rotated/ angled you just have to move the lens it's really simple and that's on both cameras the lens can be moved . I have connected to my computer with the included mini b USB cable and have accessed my videos. I have also used my 256 GB Samsung micro usd card in my camera and plugged right into the computer with the adapter for quick access , this is the best way in my opinion. You can also access the videos on your phone via WiFi. And directly on the camera (haven't done that yet ) .... So overall 5/5 rating for me. Only con I would say is the USB cable that comes with this camera is so short if you want to connect it to your OBD 2 port. It should come with one that is at least 10ft. And they could add more detailed instructions.

This dashcam has every feature imaginable. Read the description for all it has to offer. Works as advertised, phenomenal video quality, and the mount is rock solid, doesn't move at all. If you want it to stay on continuously, if you have a power outlet in your vehicle that stays 'hot' (on even when engine is off) you do not need to buy the 'hardwire' kit. Best dashcam I've ever had and I've tried many. American company too.
