    A Definite Must See Movie!

The movie from a factual standpoint is an excellent account of the bombing which occurred during the summer of 1996 at Olympic Park in Atlanta GA. Paul Hauser gave an outstanding performance in his role as Security Guard Richard Jewell who although initially hailed as a hero by the News Media that saved numerous lives became the FBI's number one suspect. The reason for this was two-fold, an over zealous Reporter Kathy Scruggs portrayed by Olivia Wilde and the conduct of the FBI agent in charge of the Investigation Tom Shaw, portrayed by Jon Hamm, who relied almost entirely upon profiling rather than the basic principles of criminal investigation. Kathy Bates also gave a heartfelt performance as Jewells mother. Definitely one of Clint Eastman's best movie productions!

A Story That Shouldn't Happen To Anyone

RICHARD JEWELL is based on a true story about a part time security guard working during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia when he discovers a suspicious looking bag left behind by someone and he takes the precaution of evacuating the site before the bomb inside the bag goes off. At first he's hailed as a hero, before the press turn on him, permanently ruining his life. In today's media-hyped age where anyone can point a finger of someone and label them guilty without evidence, this film is a sobering reminder of how far we have descended as a society.

One of the best movies of 2019

Clint Eastwood has been on a winning streak with the last couple movies he's done (The Mule, Gran Torino, American Sniper), and this just adds to his directorial highlights. Based on the true story of the Atlanta bombings, the movies paints a solid picture of how the media effected Richard's life, including his mothers, after being blamed for the event. Great performances all around; why Paul Walter Hauser wasn't nominated for an Oscar is beyond me, and Sam Rockwell is always a highlight. Kathy Bates, who plays Richard's mother, is a good as ever.

This is one of the best movie that Clint Eastwood had made. I really enjoy watching his movie because you can feel the passion and the in depth of the movie. I lived through this movie because I was there when it happened and never thought that is was Richard that did this to Atlanta. If you have not seen this movie please go and get it because Clint actually put you in this movie regardless where lived and where on that day if you where old enough when it happen. This is a must see movie

An enlightening view of how media can destroy

Most Eastwood directed films try to get to the guts of the plot right away, and as the title says, it's a good inside look on how the media and misinformation can destroy a person, or turn them from good guy to bad guy at the drop of a hat. But then again, that has been going on since the birth of the country, there are no unbiased reporters anymore, this just tells a story depicted from Eastwood and his conversant experience with the guy while he was alive. This will get you to realize even the FBI gets it wrong, as they have many times. Good flick.

    Richard Jewell Blu-Ray

A powerfully sobering story (drama), 'Richard Jewell' reminds me of how current events won't always be portrayed accurately by corporate media or news organizations. I found the pace and tone of RJ to be similar to other Clint Eastwood's films. (He has directed both 'Gran Torino' and 'Sully'.) Personally, I don't have the best A/V set up. The one part where this could make a difference is crucial scene at Centennial Park (or the brief flashback to it). The movie is heavy in dialogue.

It was interesting seeing this movie and watching how Richard Jewel and his mother were persecuted by the media. He was a hero and never compensated for the pain and suffering for being falsely accused.

The film started off weak but it didn’t take long for the story to pick up. I recall the day this happened; how everyone thought Jewell was a hero (and he was) then everyone turning against him. Heartbreaking story but ultimately the end result(s) were revealed. Also the extras are fantastic- there’s only 2 short/brief supplements, but worth it. Highly Recommend

Outstanding film! I defy anyone to watch this movie and not be moved. All of the acting and character portrayals are captivating. You will go through a range of emotions but, in the end, one of those emotions will be the satisfaction of having watched it! IMO, Clint Eastwood's best directed film. I buy and watch a lot of movies and this is one of the very best. FYI, the 4K UHD is worth the extra $$$.

Clint Eastwood directed this movie and has generally been the case for some time now, this one is interesting and well acted and directed. This one is based on the true story of Richard Jewel who was falsely accused of causing the 1996 bombings at the Atlanta Olympics. An interesting story but you will have to be in the mood to watch what is close to a documentary film.

Richard Jewel is another excellent Eastwood movie! Pay attention & realize that the media & FBI were blaming Richard Jewell for the bombing at the '96 Olympics in Atlanta. Totally wrong! Great cast & incredible story about the man who saved 100s at the games from being hurt/killed by the bombs.

This is a very good Clint Eastwood movie about security guard Richard Jewell, who was falsely accused of being a terrorist bomber in the Atlanta Olympic Games. My minor complaints are that the movie needs a music soundtrack to underscore certain scenes and more time should have focused on the unethical aspects of the FBI and Atlanta Journal-Constitution's naming of Jewell as being the bombing suspect.

It's not a particularly "showy" film, but the Blu-ray faithfully replicates the content as one would hope. The audio is fine for a drama, talking was easily intelligible. The disc is nothing truly exceptional, but it's a good movie and this is a good way to enjoy it.

It's an awesome movie about the true story about Richard Jewell. Clint Eastwood directed a great movie on about Richard Jewell what he went through with the FBI. The movie gives a great detail about what Richard Jewell went through his life as the FBI tore apart his life and his mothers.

This is the story of a real person, Richard Jewell, whose life got turned upside down because of unsubstantiated claims of his supposed criminal activities. The actor for Jewell, Paul Walter Hauser, was fantastic in understanding exactly what he had to convey about Jewell and the abuse he suffered.

Just goes to show you the power of the press. Because of them an innocent man was guilty in the court of public opinion. Nothing has really changed since then. The press can not be trusted to this day. They are more about ratings and selling papers than they are about truth.

I always have a curiosity to see how much a movie relates to real life whenever the movie is based on true events. I feel like Eastwood will keep things as similar as possible while throwing in his trends. All in all, I think it will be great.

My interest and understanding the stress Richard Jewell gone through is at its highest point. Clint Eastwood and cast have done an outstanding job. Must see, especially if you like "based on true events". My thank you to everyone involved with this film.
