THESE ARE SOME REALLY GOOD HEAD PHONES!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to my last pair of head phones, the quality is like night and day! They feel really good when I have them on for long periods of time playing the BO4 beta. These head phones feel and sound high quality! You can hear all the music and sound effects so clear and detailed, like you are actually there, and gives you a great experience!! The one thing that I can say I don't like, is how short the cord is that plugs into the controller, but other then that, these are a must have for hard core gamers!!

Comfortable with great sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super happy with this headset, with my first reaction being "wow, these fit and feel great.". I recently purchased a PS4 to add to the gaming portfolio, so when I opened the "included" ear piece for voice chat I realized I needed something more substantial (and cost effective). Needless to say this headset fit that bill perfectly, where I have a larger head than most, I struggled with a set of Turtle Beach Elite 800's on the Xbox One and can't keep them on for long spurts of gaming. The Rig 500's are lightweight and extremely comfortable on my head. Likes: -No power required, just the mini jack connection to the PS4 controller -Lightweight, soft cushion on ear pieces which also provide a good level of noise cancelling. -Sturdy AND flexible microphone that locks into place both in an up position when not in use and down position when in use (this is also how the microphone is muted). -Simple to use volume control right on the jack connecting to the PS4 controller, easy to adjust volume. -Sound quality is great, clear, undistorted sounds when playing FPS. Very immersive when playing No Mans Sky. Dislikes: -None yet! Highly recommend!!

Solid Design But Lacking Umph!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I think Plantronics I immediately think of headsets. And maybe because of that my expectations where higher than they should have been. The design though, has some thought put in it. The flip up//flip down design for muting is an excellent feature. The volume knob built into the input jack is in a perfect spot. No fumbling around for the volume knob on one of the wires! The instructions said this headset will work with PS4, Xbox and PC. I tested it out on my PS4. The quality of the sound was an 8/10. It was clear but the bass and high tones didn't "pop". The volume capability is a 3/10. I almost broke the volume knob because I thought there was no way I was at max volume. Comfort level is surprisingly svelte! Even though it's a little bulky it's very lightweight. The wires are positioned out of the way. The ear padding is soft and doesn't seem to trap heat. The headset rests comfortably with out being too tight or too loose. Overall, this is a reliable, well built headset that I would recommend for the beginner or novice. But a moderate step into the next price window will get you that extra "Umph!" that's missing.

Unbelievably Terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Plantronics is a company with a pristine reputation of providing the HIGHEST professional Audio/Communication solutions. Call centers around the world, and truck drivers rely on their industry leading equipment to keep them in communication with crisp clear vocals. Which is why i was ABSOLUTELY surprised and ultimately dissatisfied with this inferior product. (TL;DR - they broke within 3 hours) lets start with what makes this a very poorly engineered design. As mentioned by the company Rep, there is a ps4/xbox controller " adapter " that is required for it to properly nest onto the controller. Why would they make a device that is designed for the console, but require an adapter ? The "adapter " is a rubberized piece of plastic, a 'collar' that sits around the base of the headphone jack, to ensure it is seated snugly into the controller port. which with out the collar the jack goes too far into the port and makes a bad connection. and you cannot adjust the jack to sit slighty outside because then you get clipped audio and a buzzing feedback. i've only had the headset for 3 hours and the plastic collar already became useless because it doesn't retain its shape and therefore doesn't hold the jack in at the correct distance, which from what i can tell is at a mm length... the other issue is when it did work, the mic Piece is Separate and on a loose toggle, you're supposed to be able to flip the mic up inorder to 'mute' - another TERRIBLE failure of engineering here, because 1 mic has 4 separate connections, the most temperamental of which being the part that flips up and acts as a signal interrupt. The problem is the connection feels like its bridged by a plastic wheel, and you can hear it grinding as it turns, it doesn't feel SOLID like any type of device that has a function like this, SHOULD. also the Mic piece clips into the folding arm, already connecting it i had apprehensions about this, i could see it was a clumsy design flaw and wondered how manytimes can the mic be disc/reconnected before it breaks and stops working ? (the answer is one ) So there i am playing a Game on teamspeak, on PS4. players are telling me, how crisp and clear the sound is, i'm like " thanks its plantronics " and i brag on the company... well i notice that my audio stops coming through a couple matches in, and i tried adjusting settings, restarting the controller, resetting the PS4. each of these things only worked for about 4-5 minutes. then i played with the jack and realized the poor engineering is leading to a missed connection, not to mention the toggle drop down mic switch had already started to have issues maintaining its signal as well. WHY not Make a Terminal that requires no adapter to fit and work out of the box with PS4 ? turtle beach has them. inferior engineering. This production line should be recalled. also on an aside i didn't realize this because i thought they were all the same, but apparently these headsets, although the same price as, were not actually bluetooth. its not a dealbreaker for me personally, but when you're paying $100 for a headset it should be bluetooth - just saying.

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our RIG 500 PRO HS Headset. We're sorry to hear about your experience. The purpose of the plastic adapter is to prevent the cable from movement and remains in a position when you connect it to the control. Regarding the audio issues when adjusting the plastic sleeve, please test it with a different control (first party) and a cell phone without the sleeve, just to determine if the issue comes from the connector or the actual control. Please note that this unit has a one-year limited warranty from date of purchase in case you continue to experience technical issues. We thank you for your comments. They will be shared with our Product Development team as we appreciate feedback based on customer use to create the best possible products. Fantastic headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had an absolutley great experience with this headset and its probably the best I've bought. The only problem with this is the mic mute/unmute is very easily broken as my pair no longer mutes. and the arm of microphone feels cheap

Ha lol
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the worst headphones out there!!! Especially for $80. Bought one pair a few months ago and they crapped out. Since they were comfortable I thought I’d get myself another pair. Big mistake!!! Fast forward 3 months later, these ones fail the exact same way. Ridiculous for how much I paid for these. Would not recommend!!!

Horrible mic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not purchase this product. I’ve been through three of these headsets in a one month period and all had defects or something wrong. I will never purchase another one nor will I ever purchase anything plantronics because they could not help fix my issue. Neither could Best Buy. Never will purchase again. Absolutely horrible, I will be tossing in the garbage.
