We bought this headset because our other two stopped working with our Xbox One controllers, and we thought it was because they were cheap. Although this one is a good headset, it too didn’t work without the adapter.

Overall, this is a great headset with good sound quality and a nice overall fit/comfort. The only real negative thing I can say is that I could not get the Dolby Atmos app to work right and it never detects a headset so, I'm not sure if It's actually playing in that Dolby format or not and all the videos I play on the Xbox say it's not. Outside of that, they work really great and are very straightforward to use! For this review, I'll break it down to share my experience with them. Fit/Comfort: These are great and very adjustable to accommodate most people. The ear cups are average size and don't leave a lot of room so they do rub the back of my ears a little bit but they do fit and feel okay. For me, they don't seem to get hot or sweat my ears a lot but after gaming for a bit do find that I need to take a rest from wearing them. The headband is super comfortable. You can move the ear pieces up or down by snapping them out of the headband in to the next hole up or down. I actually like this because it stops the headset from moving around during game play. The microphone is in just the right spot and doesn't get in the way either. Sound Quality: Awesome, deep bass and nice highs. You can hear left/right sounds very clearly and even though they aren't true surround they sound amazing just like they are surround. Up all the way on my Xbox they sound great and didn't distort. Features: Dolby Atmos is supposed to enable the headset to sound more like true surround, but I couldn't get it to work either on my Xbox One S or my Surface Pro with the Dolby Access app. The volume nob on the jack is actually pretty cool and is in a good spot to quickly get to it, and I like that flipping the mic boom up mutes the mic! Very cool! Overall: In all, I'd recommend this headset due to the sound quality and comfort. However, if you are set on using Dolby Atmos, I'd recommend against it as I had trouble with that feature, and couldn't really tell if I was able to get it to work or not which was disappointing and frustrating all at the same time. After looking online for troubleshooting steps it seems this is an issue for some others too and Microsoft/Plantronics really need to work out the kinks with it working on the Xbox One S and even Windows 10 as I tried both and had problems on both! I tried just about all the steps I could think of to fix it but there really isn't a lot to troubleshoot on the console and the support on Plantronics site is less than helpful for this issue. I would recommend to buy because of everything but this one feature which is why I rated it 3 stars. If you're just looking for a headset and don't care about Dolby Atmos I'd give it 5 stars for sure. Last, be aware! If you scratch the code for Dolby Atmos it very clearly states on the activation card that the headset is non-returnable if it's scratched off or the card is lost!!!

its a decent mic but same issues as others, mic breaks easily and the volume controls is horrible, after many uses it breaks too.
