It started out great but then started glitching out

These are not the best headphones out there, I would not recommend them.

My son loved this headset for gaming until it quit working a few days ago.

Previously having owned a Rig headset, it’s safe to say this one takes the cake in sound quality. First, I tested it without the software it comes with to improve the audio further, and they are still higher quality than my current brand headset. The fit is perfect for all head types, which is definitely a good find if you’re like me with a slim yet long head. The sound proof isn’t noticeable at first, but once you are in game all you can hear is the game. I had children in the next room blasting music, though my footsteps in game were much louder. On this note, I would not suggest turning the volume all the way up if you’re playing a very chaotic game like Left 4 Dead, Overwatch, Fortnite, Battlefield, etc. The audio is piercingly crisp even at high volumes, which is very surprising. Normally in a headset, I find the higher the volume the less you can determine separate noises. After hearing all that, lets get down to the basics. The headset comes with a detachable mic, auxiliary cord, and an extra guard for your controller. The guard is for in an event you drop your controller, the cords tip doesn’t snap off. Very useful, indeed. Inside the box is a code for a free audio-upgrade that is supposed to make the audio even more direction-based. Needless to say with trying them out as is, I was very excited to test out this software. What could be better at this point? Well I’ll tell you. At first I didn’t notice much of a difference, the program isn’t really noticeable until you’re in a game with a lot of surrounding noise. The first game I happened to try with the audio enabled was For Honor. This is one of the games Dolby themselves made the audio for, so wouldn’t it be a good idea try it first? Needless to say, the sound quality was much better, though not really game changing. It is crisper, as well as more area based, though it isn’t mind blowing. I believe the only genre of game where this could be significant is horror, where every little sound can really change the atmosphere. Other than that, worth the buy. Would I buy this product again? Absolutely! Would I recommend to a friend or family? Absolutely!

I have purchase rig products before and I was very upset when I tried this on to find a strap along with a plastic headset. It was quite strange. It was very uncomfortable. It looked cool in the box and thats about it.

Do not buy! Volume was at a low whisper at best. Very disappointed! Yes i went througg all the troubleshooting. Theres a reason theyre on clearance.

This is a pretty nice headset. My wife was primarily interested in it for use with Skype conference calls as she is always on the hunt for a good solid headset for this purpose. I was excited to use it for gaming. Happily it works for both. She left a voicemail with it that was grainy and had lots of background noise and hard to hear so I was initially concerned the microphone wouldn't work well, but upon the next use it's crystal clear audio and the person called said it was crystal clear for them as well. Audio has been great listening to music or playing a game so I feel pretty good about the uses available for this headset. The audio jack is reversible so when using it for gaming you can plug in the volume control piece into the controller for easy access to changing the volume while in play. When plugged into a computer, you have to reverse it so it'll fit which puts the volume control on the headset end. My wife prefers that for conference calls because she's accustom to adjusting the volume from her headset, but I would have preferred the volume controller to have been at the audio jack on the computer end. It's a personal preference, but overall it works very well and gives you some flexibility depending on where you're plugging it in. Volume can easily be controlled and the headset can be easily adjusted to a super-comfortable fit. We were both able to easily adjust it to our own personal fits. Overall, I was rather impressed with the headset.

Can't get rid of a popping sound in the background

After using the headset for 2 weeks. The aux connection now has a shortage in the wiring. The sound will cut out unexpectedly with slight movement of the auxiliary port. If you are making a product for gamer's this cannot happen.

Way over priced. Sound is ok, connections to controller/mic not good, marketed as competition gamer head set, I would not recommend. I've had better experience with cheaper equipment

So this was my second set and I purchased the additional warranty with each one. One of them the mic went out and the last set the one ear speaker stopped working. Time to try a different brand.

Setup of this device on my sons XBOX sucked. Wouldnt recommend for XBOX use. On my PC it worked great. So mixed results leaves me wishing I had gone a different direction.

The sound quality of the Plantronics headset is pretty amazing. That's where most of the stars come from. It's also a very comfortable headset to wear. I've worn a few different models of these gaming headsets and this might be the most comfortable. Plus, with most other models, there's a lot of wires running to the console itself across the room, or at least a wireless hub attached to the console. Not so with this headset as it plugs directly into the controller. Very simple to set up and use. As for cons and why it lost that 5th star, It's not very good at noise cancelling. Which, if you're a parent shopping for a young person, that's probably a good thing so they can hear you calling them for dinner or to help with something. But from a usage perspective, you don't get the immersion you would from headsets with better noise cancelling features. I also seem to get a fair bit of feedback from the cord if I turn my head or stretch or shift and move the cord. It's minor, but annoying nonetheless. Overall, for the simple setup and ease of use and comfort of wear, I'd still recommend this headset.
