We are confident we can find a solution that works well for you and your home’s environment.

It sounds like you have some concerns with your device's motion detection. If your device name is changed and the app does not update the notification settings, we recommend the following steps:
Make sure you're using the latest version of the Ring app.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to refresh its connection.
Delete the device from the app and add it back again.

If your device appears to be missing a lot of motion, you may want to check the motion frequency setting. The motion frequency control allows you to reduce alerts from repetitive patterns of motion or increase alerts so you get notified about the motion events that matter to you.

Follow these steps to adjust the motion frequency:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the Dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to adjust.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Advanced Settings.
Tap Motion Frequency.
Select Frequently, Regularly or Periodically.
Frequently: Motion detection always stays active. Shortest battery life.
Regularly: Motion detection takes a short break after each Motion Alert. Medium battery life.
Periodically: Motion detection takes a longer break after each alert. Maximum battery life.
Tap Save in the upper-right corner.

We would like to ensure you are getting the most from your device.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. When a Ring Camera is installed outdoors, environmental factors such as wind and weather can cause different sounds on the Camera. These sounds may also be caused by the camera’s IR cut filter, which is a normal function of the device as it switches between day and night vision.
