From box opening to arming the alarm system's sensors and testing. Not offensive looking sensors on doors and windows, keypad that is still nearly fully charged and hasn't been plugged in since the day after I brought it home. I discussed with our homeowners insurance and the discount they gave us on our insurance more than pays for the professional monitoring services... win win. I placed a few Echo dots around the garage and first floor - and they became part of the alarm system to listen for glass breaks. My ring doorbell became part of the system, too.

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This RING ALARM 8-PIECE KIT was fairly easy to install and more than adequate for our single-family home with the exception of a seperately-sold video doorbell, and I added a sensing camera, Now that its installed, all is working as expected. Disappointments were that instructions weren't as clear as they could be (called CS a few times and got good advice), the system seems to gooble cellular minutes, and central - expensive - monitoring is required for anything to really work. I thought I'd be able to monitor the system myself.

Ring Alarm Cellular Backup is a feature that allows you to continue receiving alarm protection when there is no home internet access or when running on internal battery. Functionality is the same. The nice thing about ring is that you can self monitor your home without paying a monthly fee and if you do decide to get professional monitoring, Ring has very low prices. I wish the base station had different sounds for opening and closing doors that you could choose from, but that's a pretty minor thing. I have family and friends who use ring and I certainly recommend it.

My son & family had one like this at their previous home and I def wanted them to have the same one at their new home! Helps feel a little more secure! love the notification of when the doors are opened

The customer service team has helped my husband through several questions and have been incredibly helpful through setting up this system with us. Their customer service team is knowledgeable and patient. I recommend this system and the Ring cameras to anyone looking for additional peace of mind and security in their home and on their property. Wishing we had installed this system sooner, as we had been talking about it for months. Sometimes hindsight is 20/20.
