Great transition from traditional alarm systems

I didn't purchase the cellular/extended coverage that Ring offers but may reconsider that in the near future. I already had some Ring products (doorbell, some cameras) so extending the app to cover this new functionality was extremely easy to do. ADT Pulse app is a bit more easier to handle because it has shorter ways to get to your temp controls, door locks, etc but Ring app is still very intuitive.

My only con to this system is some times it loose connection to the WiFi which disables operation through the app but will recover in about 2 minutes. This do not stop the alarm function, but can be annoying at times.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. I'd like to share some network troubleshooting tips for Ring Alarm Base Station.
Check other wifi-enabled devices around your home to make sure the network is operating as intended.
If there have been any updates to your wifi network, password, equipment, or internet provider, confirm that network settings are accurate.
Unplug your router or modem and allow it to shut down completely, so all lights turn off. Plug the device back in, and allow your network to come back online.
Connect your Base Station directly to your router using an ethernet cable. Try multiple ports, and make sure the Ring Alarm is the only device connected via ethernet.

I had a professional alarm system with sentry watch at my previous address and Ring is just as effective for only $10 a month. It's easy to install and I can take it when I leave!

I pick a lot of things based on looks but in this case functionality need to be a big factor. I love the functionality of the ring system. The app is great, easy to use and lots of options. The recording function only cost $10 a month but that can also get you professional monitoring if you like. Definitely recommend the ring system!
