Ring security systems are known to be pretty good. A lot of versatility, and compatibility. Price pretty much the same whether you go to Best Buy, Fry's, Amazon or wherever. I got an echo thrown into the kit and it was available through Best Buy and not Amazon or Fry's. System works as advertised. Was easy to set up, compatible with my Z wav entry lock. Good deal.

Great alarm especially paired with the Ring cameras. Setup was easy and getting all the accessories connected to the base was flawless. Recommend this to anybody that needs an alarm with affordable professional monitoring. I accidentally set it off and got a call within 2 minutes asking if everything was ok. For $10 a month I couldn't ask for more

I have used the professional security systems for a really long time, and was cautious about getting Ring. But it is surprisingly easy to set up, and very reliable. I have put each device in test mode, and everything works as expected. I haven't had a real alarm event yet (and I hope not to), so cannot comment on the professional monitoring service

Used This to Replace My ADT Alarm

I purchased this Ring home security system to replace comparable equipment I had from ADT ($50+ per month/$600+ per year). So even with the $100 annual fee to 24/7 monitoring, I'm coming out ahead. Installation was very simple. I used the double-sided tape (included) to mount the door sensors and motion sensors. Getting everything configured with the base unit using the iOS app was much easier than I expected. I was so satisfied with it that I bought the Ring doorbell a week later and integrated it with the same app. The product includes a seven-day trial which will send alarm notifications to you without notifying the police. This came in handy for me, since I set my alarm to Home and left the house since I had someone asleep at home. This triggered the alarm and a call to us since I opened and closed the door when I left. This was an easy fix, since I could set a delay in arming the alarm using the app. Finding the setting and changing it was simple and intuitive. This security system qualified for a home owner's insurance policy discount just like the ADT system it replaced. All I had to do was download the certificate from the Ring web site and forward it to my agent. I highly recommend this product.

    Ring Alarm Home Security Kit

I recently purchased the Ring Alarm Home Security Kit and couldn't be happier with my purchase. The setup was easy and the app is user-friendly. I love that I can arm and disarm the alarm from anywhere using my phone. The sensors are also very sensitive and have already alerted me to a couple of potential break-ins. Overall, I feel much more secure in my home with the Ring Alarm system.

After long searches and studying, I ended up getting this system. It's very east to set up. The app for ring is nice and convenient to use. I also added a ring doorbell and stickup cameras for the system. It worth the money in the long run, and for the yearly charge of $100 you get 60 days of unlimited recording for cameras and professional monitoring. Worth the buy.

Have had the alarm since July 2018. Best money I’ve spent. I added extra window sensors to other extra ways, super easy to install. I just installed the smoke detector listeners so if there’s a fire in my home I’ll be notified for that also. And for $10 a months or $100 a year I get 24/7 monitoring of my system and that includes the doorbell and all my ring cameras

We have been so impressed with Ring since we got our first video doorbell and decided to add the Ring security system. The money was well spent. The system was extremely easy to set up and has been easy to use for the two weeks that it has been installed. It is highly recommended and a great value at only $10 per month or professionally monitored security.

We were upgrading the security in out office from an old hardwired system. To minimize surprises, I bout the smallest system for my house. It's working there flawlessly. Then I bought the larger system for the office. I do wish Ring would sell an interface to use the older wired motion sensors in the office on thier system, but with a bit of searching on Youtube, I found a way to use a door switch to tie the older ones in, rather than replace the 10 + motion sensors already wired. As they were all in series, only took one door switch. Fewer batteries to replace in a few years. The system had some bugs in the key pads, they would disconnect from the system, both on the same day, but I believe the latest firmware update finally fixed that. We would have to use the app to control the system, till we reset the keypads. Time will tell, so far so good. The one at the house did the same thing, different day from the office, but again, not since the latest firmware update. Yesterday, I added a Kwikset 914 (Z-wave) deadbolt, it now controls the alarm seamlessly. I lock the door, it arms the alarm, I unlock it, it disarms it. No more running to the keypad, or telling Alexa to disarm the alarm.

This alarm is great. I have installed alarms before and none have been this easy. The professional monitoring is only 10 dollars a month and includes the security camera recording storage. Plus it has battery and cellular backup to send signals. Adding extra sensors is a breeze. I highly recommend this to any who need an alarm.

I installed the alarm starter kit in a couple of hours, taking my time with very few problems. One observation, the contact sensors are generally worthless for use with doors, the magnet part is just too big to install on most doors with trim. One hint included in pictures (but oddly enough, not explained or mentioned) in the installation instructions is to pull the magnet out of the plastic housing and glue it to the trim. My big complaint is with the lack of support. One of the contact sensors failed to connect to the base station after multiple attempts over several days. I tried to contact Ring with no success. Their help was to say not to try to connect more than one sensor at a time (which) I didn’t. I tried to chat with someone on the support and was informed there was a 2 hour wait. 2 HOURS. I submitted an email address 2 days ago and still haven’t had a response. Took the apparently bad sensor back to the Best Buy store where I bought the kit and they promptly provided a replacement, but that one exhibited the same behavior. Seems unlikely that I got 2 bad sensors, so now what? Can’t get anything from Ring. I don’t really want to uninstall everything and return it, but I don’t know that replacing the sensor will do anything. The sensors both seem to work (light flashed in response to magnet) and the batteries checked okay, but won’t connect to the base station.

One thing I really like about Ring products is how easy it is to set up and start using. I was initially intimidated setting up an alarm system, but it was so easy. You don’t necessarily need to drill any holes, most of the items use double stick tape. And setting up the system in the app was a breeze!

This system was so simple to setup and is so easy to use! Everything can be controlled with the Ring app. Everything about this system is DIY as well. However, once you buy all of the equipment you’re wanting, pay for the professional monitoring. This is a very inexpensive solution to overpriced security systems.

I purchased the Ring Alarm Starter Home Security Kit, primarily for when I am out of town/away overnight. I chose Ring over other systems because I like the clean simple design...I also chose to pay for Geek Squad to come out & install/connect the system for me (I am older and sad to say, a bit generationally intimidated by new tech, much as I admire it). The total installation time was less than an hour and included a fair amount of time for the Geek Squad guy to explain how things work (I had many questions)...the actual installation appeared to be pretty simple & straightforward IF you know what you are doing/are adept at going back & forth on cell for connection etc...if not I think paying for Geek Squad assistance is well worth the $$ to know that your system is set up correctly. The system itself is working fine/responding at all the different sensor points I decided on and the key pad is simple. Very happy with the system and the whole experience...and I felt the Best Buy pricing was truly the best, thanks to a sale on the bundle

It’s affordable, easy to use and easy to install. What I like best about Ring is that I can add to the system as money allows so it fits any budget. Buy what u can afford and add on when you can. And best yet, no monthly bills if I don’t want the extra services. Can’t go wrong.

Super easy to set up. Took about 15 minutes in total. Have it linked to my Alexa account so every time I leave it arms, and every time I come home I can disarm it with my voice. Also hooks up with my August locks. App is great for looking at my doorbell, and cameras all in one place.

I really enjoy this alarm system much more than SimpliSafe as that system didn’t work for me out of the box. The Ring alarm system continuously receives updates that I find really useful. Setup was a breeze as well! I like the option to have the keypad in “table” mode or mounted. Since I’m renting, I’d rather not put holes in the wall by mounting so my keypad sits on a stand near the front door. I haven’t had one single issue with this system since setup. The 7-day trial period was also really useful in getting used to the system and figuring out which alarm delay timeframes I wanted to use. I love the push notifications and they’re true real-time as well! I haven’t had any issues with the Ring app either. As a young woman living alone, having this alarm system brings true piece of mind. I’ve already accidentally tripped the alarm and man is it LOUD! This alarm was worth every cent; I don’t regret the purchase at all.

    Best Purchase Of The Year

This might be our best purchase of the year. This alarm system was very easy to setup. We had most parts up in only a matter of minutes. We subscribed to the premium membership because it was so low a month. Now I feel far more comfortable leaving my wife home alone or our dog home alone knowing they will be safe. Having an app to deactivate and activate the alarm is amazing. We don't use Alexa to disarm the alarm, that sounds like too much of a vulnerability but it is great for arming it. Don't have to get out of bed. One negative we had was that one of the alarm panels was defective out of the box. It wouldn't connect with the app no matter how many times we reset it. Contacted Ring and we had another one express shipped to us. Now that is what I call customer service.
