It sounds like you are concerned with the need for the Ring Home Plan subscription. Without a Ring Home plan, your Ring products provide certain features such as Live View, Two-Way Talk, and Real-Time Notifications on your smartphone. Ring Home plans simply offer additional features for those who want them. Here are some additional features that are included when you subscribe to a Ring Home Plan.
1. Video History for up to 180 Days. Access recorded videos of every motion and Live View event for up to 180 days.
2. Snapshot Capture. See what's happening in between motion-activated events with recurring photo snapshots taken throughout the day.
3. Package and Person Alerts. Enable to get a notification only when your device spots a person or when there's a package in designated areas.
4. Rich Notifications. See exactly what triggered an alert with a photo preview right in the notification without opening the Ring app.
5. 10% off Select Products at Ring.com.

Its only one small thing i don't like about it i think they should have kept the base for it flat because it doesn't show as much

It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. We are here today to provide you with solutions that will assist you in finding the best device settings for your home’s environment.
We are pleased to read that you are enjoying the benefits of having a Ring security device installed! Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is Ring’s upgraded smart doorbell with super clear HD+ video and expanded head-to-toe field of view. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner.
To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can:
Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity.
Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones."
Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically.
You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion.
You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery.
To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check.
Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."
Tap a feature to adjust "Snapshot Capture," "Motion Frequency," and "Video Recording Length.".

Disappointed in product & service

After almost 1 year of trying (see another writeup), original unit was uninstalled, taken to BB, given this unit, waited for installation, checked after installation tech left and saw an obvious problem. Immediately contacted BB, scheduled another tech 2 days later who confirmed defect and advised that I should schedule an uninstall/reinstall of another unit.

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was getting seriously fed up with packages going missing in my neighborhood, it felt like every week, someone was posting about a porch pirate striking again, so I finally decided enough was enough and went on the hunt for a good video doorbell, after digging around and comparing a bunch of options, the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus seemed like the best fit, I already had the higher end Doorbell Pro before and it was pretty good. After using it for a while now, I can honestly say it's been one of the best things I've bought for my house, the video quality is killer, the 1536p resolution gives you a crystal clear, head to toe view of anyone at your door delivery people, visitors, you can even see the packages they leave behind, and the color night vision is really good, even when it's pitch black outside, the video is surprisingly clear and detailed, that's a big advantage during those late evening package deliveries, another thing I love is how smart the motion detection is, I've customized it to only alert me when someone's actually on my porch or walking up to the house, so no more annoying notifications every time a car drives by! And the two way talk feature is just awesome, I can tell delivery drivers where to leave stuff, or even give instructions to guests, all through the app on my phone, even when I am not home. It's like being home, even when you're not. As for the battery, it's super easy to pop out and recharge, and it lasts for weeks, I got an attachment to connect it to the power outlet so I don't run out of battery and since I'm all about convenience, that's a major win. If you subscribe to the Ring Protect Plan (which I did), you get alerts specifically for package deliveries, which has been a total lifesaver for me, installation was a breeze, no complicated wiring needed, the app guided me through the whole thing, and I had it up and running in about 15 minutes. Performance wise, it's been rock solid so far, the video is always clear, the motion alerts are prompt, and the two way audio is crisp and easy to understand. Now, if you're wondering about that subscription, you do need the Ring Protect Plan to get the most out of this doorbell, like saving videos and getting those package alerts, the basic plan is around four bucks a month, which I think is totally worth it for the peace of mind it gives me.

It sounds like there is some confusion regarding the installation of the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. It is a battery-powered device, but it can also be connected to an existing doorbell system with a hardwired transformer (8 to 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 5 VA to 40 VA).
Before you start installing your doorbell, make sure to shut off the power at the breaker. If you're not sure which breaker controls your doorbell, turn off your home's master breaker or contact an electrician.
Once power is turned off, remove your existing doorbell button from the wall and disconnect the wires. Your Ring doorbell is compatible with doorbell systems supplying 8 to 24 VAC at 50/60 Hz and 5 VA to 40 VA. Visit our support center for additional installation guidelines.

Great smart speaker for everyday use

The video quality is clear during the day and still good at night, and the wide field of view lets me see the entire area in front of the door. Motion alerts arrive quickly on my phone, and two-way audio makes it easy to talk to visitors or delivery drivers even when I’m not home.
