Wanted to get this to shine when the ring spotlight detected movement to the side of the house. The light was not bright enough to be seen from the inside of the house to indicate movement outside. I’ll stick to my solar motion activated light for now.

lights turn on outside of schedule. I bought 3 of these. 1 has a lowsy battery compartment that has weakened and won't work in less than a year. They are too sensitive and turn and stay on to run out the battery.

They aren't working. Reset them put new batteries & still nothing

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected with regards to setup and connection. The Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight is a bright motion-sensing smart spotlight with a focused beam. Battery-powered for easy no-wiring installation, it illuminates key areas with ease.
We are happy to share the following information with you regarding the setup of the Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight in the Ring app. If there is an update available for your Ring app, please update it before you begin.
Be sure to install and set up your Ring Bridge before installing and setting up your Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight. You will need to have a Ring Bridge installed and set up in order to connect your Ring Spotlight to the Ring app and the rest of your Ring devices. For the best connectivity and performance, we recommend plugging the Ring Bridge in as close to the Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight as possible.
Open the side menu by tapping the three parallel lines in the upper left-hand corner of the Ring app. Tap “Set Up a Device.” Tap “Smart Lighting.” Select your location. Scan the QR Code on Your Device Twist and pull off the front of the light. Press the buttons on the top and bottom of the battery compartment to remove the lid. Use your mobile device to scan the QR code inside of the battery compartment of your Ring Spotlight. This code can also be found on the product packaging of your Ring Spotlight. If your mobile device is not scanning the QR code, you can select "Set Up Without Scanning" and enter the five-digit PIN code underneath your device’s QR code to add your device.
Insert four D cell batteries, matching the flat ends with the springs. Then line up the arrows on the lid and compartment, and press down to snap the lid back on.The light will blink twice when fully powered up. When this happens, press "Continue" in your Ring app.
Select the lights group you’d like to add your spotlight to. If you’d like to create a new group that is not listed, you can select “Custom…”
Give your Ring Spotlight a specific name to distinguish it from the other Ring devices on your account.
Loosen the locking screw on the base and remove the base from your Ring Spotlight. Install your Ring Spotlight Hold the mounting plate firmly against the surface and drive the three mounting screws. If installing on a masonry surface, use the mounting plate as a template to mark pilot holes, making sure the "up" arrow is pointing upward. Then drill the holes and insert the anchors. Insert your Ring Spotlight back into the base at your chosen angle and tighten the locking screw.
To adjust the vertical angle, loosen the side screw, rotate to desired position, and tighten the screw.

The manual "Lights" control is the control that appears when you tap the “Lights” tile in your Ring App.
There are two controls on this panel:
Tap on the "Motion Settings" tile for access to the Motion Detection controls and settings. Your motion control settings are where you'll adjust the distance at which motion will turn your Smart Lights on. There are two controls on this panel:
Manual On/Off: This control turns your motion detector on or off.
Motion Sensitivity: This control has four levels that will determine how sensitive your motion detection will be. Try adjusting this control if you find you are receiving too many false alarms or not enough motion alerts. The three settings are:
Low: Try this setting if the light is turning on too often. Medium: The default setting, which is ideal for most setups. High: Monitor the largest possible area with the most sensitivity. Custom: When “Custom” is chosen, a slider will appear, allowing you to customize the motion sensitivity level.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Smart Lighting Spotlight is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.
Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity: Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router. Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection. Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).
To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (☰). Tap “Devices.” Select the ring device you would like to test. Tap on the “Device Health” tile. Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section. The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor. Move your wifi router off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.
Check your mobile device's signal. If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.
Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading. If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

Does not work as they claim, can not use on a busy street or very close to pavement they were not able to fix the problem.
