It was the worst. It was hard to install and it would never stay loaded. This works perfectly with my ring. Very easy to install; link up with no problem.

I bought this Chime Pro specifically for the wifi range extender ability but really found it was only mediocre. Chime options weren't that great either. Overall it did work just expected more.

It sounds like the device is not operating as expected. Even with your Chime Pro, your router is still your main source of connection for your Ring device. Ideally, the maximum distance between the router and your device is 20-25 feet with the Chime Pro about halfway between the Ring device and your router. If possible, try moving the router closer to the device. Also, make sure your router is not in a closet or behind furniture, like a sofa, so the router has an unobstructed signal.

I purchased the Ring chime pro to fix it and the signal is very good now. I have it in my garage. it was the best place for it...strongest signal..

Supposedly with wifi booster. Worked fine until I added a backdoor camera and it went offline. Refuses to reinstall. Says wifi strength is weak move unit closer. It's 2ft away on the same wall plug as modem and still says get closer. Ring help is a useless labyrinth of suggestions. So I'm not happy with it at this point in time. My 1st generation chime pro that came with doorbell works great.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This isn't the experience we want our customers to have and are happy to help resolve this together. The Chime was intended to be set up using a 2.4GHz wifi signal only. We do recommend that you attempt the initial setup in the same room as the router in order to establish a good connection. However, it does not require staying in the same room to function.
If you haven't already, you can also try rebooting your router. Oftentimes, these devices will benefit from a routine power cycle as they handle a lot of data. You should only have to power down the router for about a minute. Conversely, performing a hard reset on our Chime may be necessary to complete the setup. Please follow the instructions below to complete the hard reset,
* Start with your Chime plugged into an outlet. Begin holding down the setup button for 5 consecutive seconds, then release.
* Wait until the light on the front of the device stabilizes. (The light will return to a solid blue)
* Attempt a fresh setup through the Ring app. Since some troubleshooting steps are time sensitive, please ensure you have your wifi password handy.

Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. With Ring Chime, simply plug it in to a power outlet, set it up in the Ring app, and you'll be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home. Notification delays are often related to wifi connection or mobile device variables. A delay of under six seconds is expected due to signal fluctuation. For the Chime, placing the device within a good range of the router and without obstacles in between will ensure optimal performance.
To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the Device Health tile.
Scroll to Signal Strength under the Network section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
If your wifi signal strength is good, we recommend pressing and holding the reset button on the side of the Ring Chime for 15 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to reconnect the device to wifi.

I wish the night light shined downward instead of pointing sideways at the other outlet and across the room. The selectable chimes are nice.
