Ring chime is fine for internal sound. I have placed mine close to the front door. If you want sound farther into your house purchase the Ring Chime Pro.

Bought it for my door bell. I thought it would just have one ring tone but found out I could change ringtones to what I wanted. Am pleased with this chime.

Definitely worth the purchase with Ring 2 because my in-laws don't always have their smart phones with them, so great to have the doorbell sound for them as well

I didn't always hear the door bell in other rooms or upstairs. This has been a good solution, but sometimes it seems to disconnect as I see the Ring light flashing. I might just still be learning.

Again, this Ring product took about 2 hours of telephone troubleshooting with Ring to get it functioning and even then it took about a day to be recognized by the system. After that, it's been fine.
