We placed it right outside of our rooms upstairs but still couldn't hear it loud enough.

Hard to install it always didnt work out i had to uninstall and install a few times and when i have my husband as another user and he installed on his phone, it kicked me out of the system. System works half the time

Even had my internet speed increased and checked to ensure that wasn't the issue. Camera views take much too long to pop up and sometimes not at all.

I am sorry to hear about this inconvenient experience. When objects (Physical Barriers) such as metal, steel, concrete, stucco, brick, stone etc. the wifi signal can have an issue going through those objects. However, adding a Ring Chime Pro or wifi extender will help the speeds travel directly from the router to the location of the doorbell. Appearentlly the chime had been returned by a previous buyer who had installed it and therefore was the owner. When I went to the store to make a trade for a new one, the store was out and I had to pay an additional $20 for the Chime Pro. The Chime Pro worked perfect, but I did not actually need the range extender feature that I had to pay for.
