When l purchased my ring, the sales associate said this is required even if you already have an analog door bell. Well, that's not true. The ring already has provisions to ring your cuurent bell. You'll only need this if you don't already have a doorbell ringer in your home.

So I purchased the Ring chime. Plugged it in, programmed it and now we have a doorbell chime!! You can pick & choose which chime tone you want to use as well.

However, the Chime Pro offers more ring choices and works with the regular Ring, so I took this one back and got the Chime Pro. I think the Chime Pro is a better value because it boosts your wifi signal to the Ring, which I needed.

Great working chime.

I bought this to allow me to hear the ring door bell being rung at times when I'm at another end of the house and cannot hear the door bell it works anywhere in the house I have a wifi signal. This is great in areas in a garage or anywhere to far from hearing your door bell.

Did not work that well

Sometimes it would ring, sometimes it wouldn't. It was not my wireless connection because it was two feet away from it. The Ring doorbell would ring on my phone but 50/50 on the chime. I ended up taking the Ring doorbell and chime back because it just did not work well for the combined price.
