Wishing I would have purchased this a long time ago! Didn’t realize it at first but this goes into the peep hole of your door so it’s a great view Or option or narrow door ways. I still have my regular door bell and most people use the door bell rather than the ring but happy with the quality picture and battery life

I bought it and installed it on my own. It was super easy! It works great, it notifies me when someone is at the door, or when they actually knock on the door. I can see the mailman leaving the packages, and any activity at the front door. I would buy again immediately if I needed another one. I highly recommend it.

We have an odd door set up with the doorbell itself being at a weird angle to anyone approaching the door. I had previously installed it due to package thefts in the area. It works okay but, is far from ideal because unless someone is standing at the door you don't pick anything up. So after seeing this peephole camera I decided to try this because naturally it faces forward and you can see to the street through the peephole. Very easy to install and set up. However, unless someone is about three feet away when walking towards to the door the camera doesn't pick up movement. The worst part is someone walking away at a much greater distance triggers the camera. Cars passing on the street trigger the camera. But, for whatever reason, a person walking towards it does not. I have spent plenty of time on the phone trying to troubleshoot the reasons for this. One of Rings representatives on the phone told me that this product wasn't designed for this use. It was meant for an apartment where there is a wall three feet in front of it. From the lack of ability to actually pick anything up, I would guess that in this situation someone would be basically walking away before it bothered to turn on.

Works well, easy to install. Bought an extra battery for backup. Saves hard wiring at front door. Increases video at front door since the ring doorbell is mounted on the side wall.

This was purchased to use in an apartment door. Install was very easy and it works as expected. It does not have coverage to look at packages left at the door. I wish that ring wouldn't charge a monthly fee and offer at least 10-15 captures for free.

Love this item. We live in a condo and this allows us to see who might be in our hallway. We also added our neighbors to our account which allows them to use the different options offered, like speaking to who might be at one of our doors and or someone who may be unwelcomed. We have so many options we are able to hear someone who may be in the area and also see them as well as speak to them if needed. Great item to have for safety reasons.

Overall installation was easy if door already has existing hole. Make sure to press the cable connector from camera (outside unit) to battery(inside unit) properly. I initially had black & white picture and thought it is defective unit. But worked fine after cable is reinserted. Need to adjust higher sensitivity to start capturing video sooner, but results in false videos from street. The camera angle is not enough to see to porch floor (packages), so defeats purpose. I have another Arlo camera facing down for package viewing. Vide and Audio quality is excellent. Battery charge was about 30% after 3 weeks for me probably due to lot of activity and viewing. This model is not discoverable with SmartThings though other Ring doorbell has backend Integration with SmartThings, don’t understand why peephole camera treated differently. Overall good value for the price paid

Very happy with this purchase. It works great, battery life is long and view quality is excellent. Very easy to install and operate.

Like the Ring a lot. Very easy to install and has good coverage. I had to but replacement Ring placards because it kept falling off and finally lost it. I added small brass screws to keep the replacement from falling off. Very pleased with the camera and it’s features. Ed

The motion alert settings on the peephole vs the OG doorbell, are a bit off (likely user error), and the view seems to be higher on the peephole; happy with the purchase overall.

I had been wanting to purchase a "smart" doorbell for some time, but my placement wasn't the best. I realized Ring made a peephole type cam, and not only was it easy to install, and set up, but I didn't have to do any additional wiring, or even move my doorbell.

I chose this over the doorbell because it doesn't involve drilling or doing wiring. Just unscrew your peephole (it even comes with a tool to remove it) and put this in place. The instructions are easy and acts as your doorbell and peephole.

If you rent and can't drill holes, this is the product for you. I recently over into an apartment that had an existing peephole, one of the large gold ones that are old and gross. I replaced it with the ring peephole and looks much nicer and more professional. Of course just keep your old one so you can switch it back when you're done with your lease. Functionality is just as great as the doorbell. Only request is that the camera would somehow face a little lower so you can see the physical package when left at your door

This is a great peephole camera. Set up and installation was easy. If you live in an apartment, this Ring comes with a tool to replace your default peephole, so that when you move out you can replace it. My unit is located near a hallway that gets a decent amount of foot traffic so at first my Ring was going off non-stop. Make sure you set it up to not detect every single movement. With that said, the Ring app has seen some great updates recently that optimizes battery and the level of “smartness.”

If you have a peephole this is a perfect adaptation of the Ring doorbell to combine the functions.

I wasn’t expecting that good quality of cam. Only issue is horizontal angel of cam. I wish they could have made it Slightly tilted like 5 Or 8 degree downward. Cause it’s hard to see the package after it placed under the cam.
