Smart lightning
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This item is very small for the cost but I do like the size. The only problem I have is that I wish it had a built-in rechargeable battery along with the power cable so, I had an option to use either or. It has to be placed at a central location somewhere close to the Wi-Fi and the lightning fixture. Otherwise from that it is doing what it is suppose to do so i am ok with it.

Works Great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This RING bridge was a necessary purchase in order for my RING motion detectors & RING mailbox detector. It was a super easy user friendly setup. Connecting the motion detectors & mailbox detector now work great utilizing the bridge. A little pricey, but well worth the cost.

It is a must for total control / protection
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This bridge allows me to add lights and my lights, garage door openers & mailbox sensor. It also allows me to add my Schlage Z-Wave front door lock with digital keypad. The garage sensors & door lock set-up through MyQ and links incorporates into my Ring system.

Posted .Hello Front,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Ring Floodlight experience with us. We understand the importance of having the batteries last in your home’s environment, so these support calls are not necessary. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with information to resolve your concern.
To get the most life out of your batteries, Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could cast a shadow on your solar power device, such as an extended roof, tree branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.
Here is a helpful article that elaborates on some factors that could be causing the unnecessary battery drainage: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041789191-Troubleshooting-Unexpected-Battery-Drain-in-Ring-Solar-Smart-Lights. Customers can expect about a year of battery life when they keep the brightness at 50% and have the lights activate in 30 second intervals.
We invite you to reach out at https://community.ring.com/if any additional information is needed regarding the Floodlight. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences with Ring.

Why don’t they sell this with bulbs?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You are basically going to need this for your smart home lighting if you want your inside or outside lights to turn on to motion as if you’re home. You can bridge many bulbs on one of these. You’ll only need one per household. But to be honest Best Buy should sell this with the ring bulbs as a set instead of the bridge itself.

A Device to use Ring Flood Light's Features
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this device so I could use all the features of the Ring Flood Light Motion Detector, The Light would just be a 'dumb' Motion Detector without the Bridge. The Bridge is easy to install, but it's important to install it a close to the router as possible. In the device health, you can see the RSSI Signal Strength Indicator. 0 is perfect. 99 is bad. You need about a 50 or less of the Flood Light will not connect to the Bridge. Find that good location before installing the mount to avoid unnecessary holes in the wall.

Smart device, could be smarter.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring Bridge seamlessly ties all your Ring Products into groups for easy access and control on your Smart Phone, tablet or computer. Requires the Ring App. However, it could be smarter than it is. I installed 2 Ring Floods (one with a camera) on the front of my house and a Ring bulb into my 3rd existing lantern. The Bridge via the App can turn that bulb on and off in dusk/dawn. However what would be smarter of it if I could tell that bulb to turn on and off when the floods detect motion. Also you use the app to program the Bridge to control your devices. The settings do not always work to well. Meaning I set my floods to turn off after 30 seconds of no motion, and sometimes they will stay on for hours. However, I do recommend this as it is a very good device and ties it all together.

Nifty little product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ring bridge is wonderful. You need the ring bridge to work with the lights. It’s not expensive it’s easy to install. It just plugs in and it has its own app and all you could set up all your ring devices to work through your bridge! No more tedious, going from one ring product to the other to change settings you can do things through the bridge. I’m so happy with my purchase! One bridge I believe, I’m not positive that I believe has endless ring devices, and other devices that can be attached to the app.

Ill Conceived - Huge Limitations
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably one of the worst built, ill conceived, worst understood devices I have ever seen. The simple bit for the Bridge - you ONLY need this for RING lighting devices, like the solar lights, the mailbox sensor, and the outdoor dual outlet. You don't need it for anything else - nothing else connects to it. Ring support is clueless about all this - they think Leviton devices (which use Z-Wave) connect to the bridge. They DO NOT. What is this silly thing? Remember cordless phones that never worked very well - yeah - they were 900MHz. This piece of awful technology uses the exact same signal as those old phones (so watch out, if you have a cordless phone, most likely you don't anymore, they will interfere with this network). There is NO way to extend this network (unless you buy some commercial networking devices - read super expensive). So you have a big house, and you want to put lights out around your house. Better hope you can find a place to put this thing so it will communicate with your devices. There's a super high probability you'll connect to the front yard and not the back, or the side. And you can't use a second bridge - they only allow one bridge per account or house. Ring is ridiculous about how far this device will work, they give absolutely no specs on distance. Their answer is, try it, if it doesn't work, move the bridge. If it doesn't connect, you have interference in your house and it's your problem to solve. You also DO NOT need the security or base station for this to work. In a sense, the bridge is a completely standalone product, no direct connection to other devices. Oh it is easy to setup. It took about 5 minutes including a firmware update. It works perfectly with the Ring app. Yes you can easily schedule and turn devices off and on with the app. You can also set schedules. Sure, it does all those things as advertised. My massive complaint with this, Ring support knows nothing about these new devices. Their website is opaque about what you need to make those Ring lighting devices work. And it works on a truly worthless bandwidth that can't be easily extended or improved. I ended up buying this piece of nonsense because I blindly bought a Ring outdoor outlet assuming it would connect to the base station. That's totally wrong, this piece is required to make those devices work. In addition to all the other Ring devices I have, I now had to spend $50 more to make a really simple device work (that should work with the base station or Z-Wave).

Posted .Hello BinkyBarns,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review regarding your experience with the Ring Bridge. We appreciate it! Ring Smart Lighting lights run on a power efficient, long-range RF Network. The Bridge converts the RF signals to wifi to deliver information from the system to you in the form of alerts or diagnostic information. It also translates commands from you sent on wifi to the RF network to control the lights. We understand the importance of having a strong signal, so this translation can occur, and you can control your Ring Smart Lights within the Ring app. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with more information regarding this device and how it integrates with your other Ring products.
The Ring Bridge is the central hub that integrates Ring Smart Lights, Motion Sensors, and Transformers into your Ring system. The Bridge connects to the Ring app using your home wifi network and connects to other Ring Smart Lighting products using a proprietary long-range communication protocol. Without the Ring Bridge, your Smart Lights function only as individual units. With a Bridge, you can control whole groups of Smart Lights and other Ring products at once and be notified via the Ring app when any light or Motion Sensor senses movement. In addition, you can use your Ring app to create Groups of Smart Lights and Ring cameras that work together to enhance security. For example, if you’re subscribed to Ring Protect, your Ring Doorbell can begin recording video as soon as motion is detected by your Spotlight. This provides footage that captures motion events earlier. Here is a helpful article that walks through the installation process: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022835212.
The useful range between your Bridge and other Ring Smart Lighting products depends on the number of obstructions between them, and the materials they’re made of. The RF signal has a greater range than wifi, but you may have to experiment with your devices to find an optimal position. We suggest your wifi should be at least 1 MB upload and download speed. Here is a support article that elaborates on the signal type and answers any additional questions you may have: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025181851-Ring-Smart-Lighting-Bridge-Information.

Ring Light Bridge
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, the bridge speaks with the lights and am enjoying it. I did get Ring Smart Bulbs which I installed next to Ring Door Bell in front and Ring Camera in rear and hoped the bulbs themselves would go on with motion detection selected with the help of this bridge but I don't think the bulbs are capable..or maybe I haven't figured that out yet..

Great addition to the Ring Security family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this light bridge so that I could use the mail box sensor that Ring released. I don't have any Ring smart lights, but might be getting some now that I have the bridge (clever move, Ring Inc.). I can see Ring introducing several outdoor sensors/lights/etc now that they've have this bridge (and antenna equipped accessories). Waiting for them to release a smart water hose timer. The bridge was super simple to install.

It’s a bridge.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring smart lighting bridge is a necessary component to install your smart lights. It’s small and compact and you can hide it anywhere. The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because it took me several attempts to get it connected to my network. I had to reset the bridge at least 5 times and then it took another 20 minutes for it to install. Overall I almost spent an hour trying to get it connected. I consider myself pretty tech savvy. It only took me 15 minutes to install the lighting to the exterior of my home with a ladder but why does it take so long to plug a bridge in a connect? I wonder if someone who is less tech savvy than me would’ve done. The install was a pain but when everything was said and done everything works fine. The app is easy to use and my lights works accordingly and it is very convenient.
