I bought this battery powered unit because I didn't have an electrical connection on the outside wall of the house. The quality of the camera appears to be good and the setup was easy. The motion detection and videos are good. The "Spotlight" function, however, is disappointing in that it remains on for only 10 seconds when motion is detected at night. When I pull into my driveway the spotlight will activate and go off before I exit my vehicle. I'm still familiarizing myself to the functions of this product, so maybe I'm missing something here. I understand that the spotlight can be activated from the app but I don't want to sit in the vehicle and use the app to activate the light. There should be a way in the Ring app to control and extend the duration of the light when activated by motion. Ring apparently limits the spotlight to 10 seconds in order to conserve battery power but at least 30 seconds would be more acceptable. The responsibility of keeping the unit charged should be left to the user and not governed by Ring. It's been less than a month since I installed this unit so hopefully I'll grow to like it. This unit is not inexpensive and I hoped for more.

The motion lights are an important feature that gives you peace of mind by allowing you to see who is on your property at any given time. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review.
It sounds like your Ring Spotlight Cam Plus lights are activating on motion, but they are not remaining on for an extended period of time. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus Battery lights will turn on when motion is detected, and they will turn off after ten seconds by default. If the device continues to sense that motion is present, the lights will stay on longer. There is no ability to adjust this at this time, but we are constantly striving to improve our products, and your feedback is an invaluable part of that process.
