So far, pretty good! Bought these battery operated security cam lights for front and back of our house where we have no way to use hard wired alternatives. Been less than a month so far so I don’t know how long the batteries will last before needing recharging. I did not want to use a solar charger in front because of aesthetics, but was able to run a power chord from an outside outlet to the other unit (using an accessory chord and USB adapter ) out back where it is too shady for solar. Relatively pleased with the ease of setup, performance and flexibility in optioning, but wish I could preset a video zoom level versus only being able to do that when playing back videos.

Works well and the battery lasts awhile due to the placement of the camera - its not used often.
But the cold does affect the life of the battery. It took months for it to go from 99% to 30% then it went from 30% to 5% in 2 weeks. In the future would prefer wired for power

The ring spotlight camera is an excellent easy to use camera the picture quality is amazing and it has a very wide angle. You’ll never miss a beat with the motion alerts and not to mention that two way voice feature where you can speak through your ring camera. Five stars for this

I love the Ring security cameras, these are an addition to my Ring doorbell, I love having the ability to see my property anytime I want and that I am alerted whenever the camera detects movement, these cameras are a breeze to set up and have an audible siren and speakers so you can converse with the intruder (yell at them!) I give them two thumbs up.
Also; I have dealt with Ring customer service and they are top notch! Highly recommend Ring products.

I mounted this to my house to veiw the backyard. I don't recommend buying the 2nd battery, buy the solar charger. Took me 2 months to finally install the solar panel cause i would have to remove the battery to charge it.

Works well...with good WiFi

These Ring cameras do their job as long as you have the adequate WiFi needed in your house. My front of the house camera runs off the router that I have in my office, which is in the front of the house. The backyard camera runs off a WiFi range extender that I installed in the back room. You are not going to get the right performance from these cameras if you don't have a strong enough WiFi signal running through your house. So, if you live in a big home or have multiple cameras outside, you are going to have to extend your WiFi signal. I also have ADT cameras outside, and even the ADT installer put their own WiFi range extender in the house in order for the signal to reach outside! BTW, the Ring picture quality is FAR better than ADT. So, do not bother buying the Ring cameras if you have spotty WiFi. They just won't work right.
As far as batter life goes, my batteries last about a month. Not one week like a lot of people say, and not the 6 months that Ring claims.
All in all, I really like the ring products. But, like I said, make sure you have good WiFi, or be ready to buy a WiFi range extender.

Great little cameras. Video is high resolution, and easy to make out faces. Light is bright enough for small area like a back porch. Very easy installation and set up. My only complaint is the plastic wall/ceiling attachment is kind of cheap for the cost.

Good camera overall, captured and recorded every detected motion. I sometimes have difficulty to activate the live view. The battery life is about 2 weeks with about 4 to 5 motion detection on daily basis. Battery took about 5 hrs to charge to I recommend to buy the second one. Installation is super easy.

Love these cameras and their wire-free capabilities. When coupled with the solar panels for these devices and good device/battery management, there is no need to change out the battery.
That being said - If your goal is to put batteries in and never need to change them out I would advise purchasing the extra battery and solar panel. If your device receives high frequency (motion) then you may have to set some good device practices to keep fully charged. I have one spotlight cam over looking a road that receives a lot of motion, coupled with the solar panel and extra battery, if I lessen the motion range or frequency for a day then my batteries are 100% charged. This is heavily dependent on the amount of direct sunlight received by the panels.
The panel is worth the extra 50$ and the extra battery is worth the extra 30$.

I really love my ring camera and this battery operated one does a great job except there are a few times where I feel like it does not capture everything. Perhaps it’s just where I have it installed. May have to move it a little.

The camera quality is very good and has an extremely wide angle. I was impressed with how bright the lights actually light up at night. Hook the cameras up to rings solar power and you won’t need to concern yourself with having to charge the battery. Also, don’t purchase the additional battery as it is not needed if you have solar energy powering the camera. Set up is easy and if you don’t want to drill them into your property ring sells alternative options for both the camera and solar panel to be clipped on and mounted to rain gutters or trims on your property.

Easy to install ! Just make sure that as soon as you get the products, immediately begin to charge the batteries they come with; charging takes about 30 minutes to an hour which is far greater than the installation time of the doorbell and the other wireless cameras i installed for the back door. The RING system is simple and intuitive to install and easily adaptive through your smart phone to your personal needs 24/7. another great feature is the Ring Neighborhood connection that allows sharing activity within your area, which by the way, your "neighborhood" area can be as small or as big as you want to make it. Again, great features and great flexibility of the Ring Security System.

The wire free ring spotlight cam is great for those looking for a quick and easy installation. Took only a few minutes to set up and install. Since this is a wire free option, it seems like live viewing lags a bit more than hard wired ring products. I have a hard wired ring doorbell and I feel like the doorbell functions a bit quicker than the wire free spotlight cam. When fully charged, the camera seems to operate as quickly as the doorbell. This spotlight cam comes with two battery compartments, but only 1 battery. I would recommend to purchase an additional backup battery and insert in the second compartment so you do not have to recharge your batteries as often. Functionality of battery states it should last about six months, but the more functions you use, the quicker it will die out. Other than this, the product is great.

Very easy to install and use. We also purchased the solar panel so we didn’t have to worry about have to climb a ladder (was placed high near our garage door) to recharge. Enjoy the spotlight when it captures motion.

Ring Is Worth It

I initially purchased a Video Doorbell 2 and liked it so much I wanted to add other cameras as well. I have a Ring Floodlight Cam which is hardwired, but there are places around my home I do not have the ability to place hardwired cameras. I purchased three Battery Spotlight Cams and I had trouble initially with one of units’ lights not activating with motion at night. I called the VERY HELPFUL and FRIENDLY Ring helpline and they updated my camera for me and voila, my 5 Ring products work great. One thing to consider is adding an extra battery. Two batteries can be housed in a single Spotlight Cam. I actually purchased three Ring Solar panels for my Spotlight Cams and they do an excellent job maintaining the battery charge...even during winter.
