Had planned to use the camera outdoors. Began the installation and found that it didn't have a ground scrap wire. Call Ring Customer Service and they could only tell me to contact an electrician for proper installation. I would not trust installing the camera in an outlet without proper grounding.

Bought 8/21/20. Installed 9/15/20. Had a faulty reset button. To long to return to Best Buy, Was told I had to deal directly with Ring. As of today, 10/10/20, Ring has yet to replace my Ring Spotlight Mount Camera. Have called customer support numerous times and still waiting for faulty product to be replaced. Extremely disappointed!

Rest assured, we are here to provide you with a solution to your reset button concern. After reading your review, it seems that you are waiting on a replacement on your Ring Spotlight Camera. Have you tried power cycling the device? This would deliver the same results as a device reset. A power cycle entails flipping off the switch that controls the camera for 30 seconds. Then flipping it back on and reconnecting the Ring Spotlight Mount to your home’s wifi network through the Ring App. If your device isn’t controlled by a switch, you can toggle off the breaker and unhook the wiring to the camera for the same result, a power cycle. Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Spotlight Camera picking me up the correct motion. If this is the case, you may want to adjust your motion settings. Motion Frequency is a control in the Ring app that allows you to customize motion alerts to your home environment. When the areas that you’re monitoring have excessive or repetitive motions, such as children playing in a yard, you may receive too many alerts, which can drain battery-operated devices too fast. Motion frequency controls were designed to help you get the notifications that you want and preserve battery life. Not Suitable for Remote or Vacation Home Use

The camera went offline and (a) it does nothing when this happens and (b) you have to physically be there to get it back online according to RING.COM support. I have an Arlo camera at that same location on the same WIFI and it stays online, so this is not an issue with my ISP or WIFI. All Ring video cameras are like this. They won't reboot themselves and have no internal technology to put themselves back online. Seems like a major flaw for anything with "security" in its name. I've never had a security camera just "go offline" on its own before, so maybe this is a bad camera. Not chancing it -- I'm returning it.

Waste of money....seriously! Bought 3 cameras and solar panels. They all worked great at first, then after 6 months or so, one camera wouldn't charge with the solar panel. Some days it could detect a solar panel and others it couldn't. The solar panel gets plenty of sunlight. Then the last day or so, another camera with a solar panel won't charge. It shows there's a solar panel but still won't charge. I paid all the extra money for the solar panels so I wouldn't need to worry about this. And customer support is not good. I'd never buy them again.

The Ring Solar Panels are intended to be a power source to help charge and extend the battery life.
The ability to recharge the battery varies based on device settings, motion notifications, and sun exposure in the area of placement. As soon as you plug it into the Ring Spotlight Cam it starts working, but only provides power when getting direct sunlight. If your cameras experience a lot of activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, or change the motion frequency. Making these adjustments will in most cases extend the battery life.
