This camera is on par with other “pro” series offerings from Ring. Its not “great”, but has good picture quality and motion sensing. The IR lighting it utilizes for nightvision is lacking in coverage and distance, imo. I find it difficult to see between vehicles parked 20’ directly in front of it at night. I’ve added an ir floodlight to remedy this. The power cable is more than sufficient for most installations, and is about 20’ long, I believe. It’s size is one of my biggest gripes with it. Its a lot larger than it needds to be, imo. Its also quite heavy, given its size. The weight wouldn’t normally matter, but the included mount is extremely flimsy, and allows the camera to shake in the wind, when mounted to a wall or ceiling. The mount is my biggest disappointment, and there are no other mounts available, at this time. If there were a more sturdy mount included, or even available, i would rate this camera better, but there isn’t, so…

I am using an ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro (Wi-Fi 7) router, and this camera won’t connect to the router, even when Wi-Fi 7 is turned off. I tried different settings for the 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz band but the Stick Up Cam Pro refuses to connect. I have a total of eight (8) Ring cams working fine at the same time, but this one is a bummer.

Hi Realster.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of a seamless setup process so that you can begin using your Ring Stick Up Cam Pro right away. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is designed to work in many environments and provide a seamless setup process. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with a concrete resolution as quickly as possible.
The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is designed to work with your home's wifi network and is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies. If you're receiving a 'Setup did not complete' message and cannot finish setup, it could be due to one of these common causes of setup failures:
* Your Ring device is too far from your wifi router. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device. * There's a possible problem with your internet connection. * There's a possible issue related to your wifi modem or router.
Make sure your wifi router is off the floor. Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere or weaken your router’s wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location. Make sure you're entering the correct password. Passwords are case sensitive and do not include spaces. Your network password can often be found on the bottom or side of your router.
Wifi passwords are case and special character (such as *,@,$, or #) sensitive. Double check letter capitalization and placement. If you haven't changed your wifi password since your router was installed, it may be on a sticker on the underside of your router. Connect other devices to your wifi network using your last remembered password to verify it is still correct. If you have multiple networks or a wifi extender, confirm you are connecting to the correct one. If you’re still having issues, try holding down the reset button inside the battery compartment of the camera for 20 seconds. Before you reset your device, make sure to download any videos in your account.

I thought it would be better than the regular cams I have . It is not worth it , my other ring outdoors cams do better and was cheaper . I can’t return it , so I am stuck with it . The sun shining on it at all causes the cam not to motion detect anything .

Hi Sony77.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Stick Up Cam Pro capture all the correct motion events. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here to provide you with some information to resolve the issue you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to motion detection. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. You can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the 'Motion Frequency" to "Frequently."
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left. Tap "Devices." Tap the device that you want to adjust. Tap "Motion Settings." Tap "Smart Alerts." Tap "Enable Feature." Tap "Continue." Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion." You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications. After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
Washed-out videos might be due to overexposure to sunlight. You can try adjusting the angle of your camera to improve the clarity. If you would like greater detail in the brightly lit areas of photos and videos taken by your Ring device, you can use the high dynamic range (HDR) toggle in your Ring app (available on select Ring devices).
If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam Pro, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.

Hi DeadGirl.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of having all relevant product information prior to purchasing. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is not operating as you expected. If your wired Ring security camera detects a Motion Event and you have a Ring Protect Plan, your device will record the motion for a set amount of time based on your video recording length setting. On most Ring wired cameras, the video recording length is set to Auto. The Auto setting makes your recordings smarter, enabling your camera to record when motion begins and stop recording when it stops detecting the motion. Motion can be recorded for up to 120 seconds with this setting. We suggest that you adjust the setting for video recording length in the Ring app by following these instructions:
In the Ring app, go to the menu and tap Devices. Tap the device you want to adjust, then tap Device Settings. Tap Video Settings. Tap Video Recording Length. To record for as long as motion is detected, choose Auto. The length of your recordings will vary with this setting. For a fixed-length time, disable Auto and choose 50, 60, 90, or 120 seconds.

DONT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY MONTHLY FEE TO USE

I bought the camera for it to RECORD, but it turns out doesn’t record unless you PAY MORE for it to keep your recordings. Not just a one time fee, but a MONTHLY FEE TO SAVE YOUR RECORDINGS. If I would have know this, I’d would just bought an older camera for my house. This is ridiculous and pretty much thievery.
