They have an infrared light built in which enables you to see in total darkness. At night, the picture is B&W. During daylight, the picture is in color and 1080p.

It does NOT include a battery. So, if your power goes off, so does your security. Also, it would be nice if the software would allow you to rotate the image 90 or 180 degrees so you can mount under the eaves or on the side of the house or something.

It does not have a spotlight but the night vision captures motion clearly.

This took me literally 3 minutes to set up. It took longer to drill a hole in my garage and plug it in! Great quality, even in blizzards and crazy wet weather.

Still adjusting notifications and settings for my site. I live at the end of a busy street. lots of walkers during this nice weather, LOL. Got a nice shot of a deer eating my front porch plants!

They finally give you choices on how long to record. You need it. They give you customizable zones. You need it. It is 1080P. 15 frames per second. Not as clear as you might think but OK. Cloud storage. Fairly frequent crashes. Android app. crashes. + Online App + Win 10 app. All 3 apps are different; ridiculous. Access to support. non existent. Finally; the mount; fragile and extremely cheap. Oh Yeah. Power supply (wired unit; what I bought; only one with pre roll) ; it covers 2 outlets. I bought 4 of these cameras; I had to install all new weather proof quad outlets so I could power my landscape transformers too.

I had zero trouble starting it. I had to improvise the mounting because I wanted to hang it from the roof overhang. I wish they had made provision for this.

This camera is ok at best but not reliable. The camera has to be pointed in the exact path you want detected which can be difficult with the mount that is included in the box. The daytime detection can be tricky with objects like branches or cats getting detected as a human?! The night visions is acceptable but detection is worthless even though you can see the video clear people will not be detected. If you need a more reliable detection I would recommend getting the ring camera with the light bars on the sides detection is great.

Having reliable notifications is one of the most important features for a home security device. This unit was designed to have a 115 degree horizontal and 65 degree vertical field of view in order to capture events on your property.
Ring battery products, such as your Stick Up Camera, “see” the world through a network of three linked passive infrared (PIR) sensors. These are heat sensors that detect motion by monitoring heat within the detection area. Since people are hotter than the surrounding areas, as a person enters the detection area, the heat measurements change. The motion sensors register this change as movement and send out an alert. In addition, the PIR sensors are pointed downward to detect motion from five feet to 30 feet away, while minimizing notifications from things like traffic.
