The Ring Stick Up Cam Wired was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. It sounds like your device is not picking up all the motion you are wanting. Using the Ring app, you can fine-tune the area your device covers. Higher motion sensitivity will increase the number of alerts you get.
To adjust the Motion Sensitivity slider in the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the screen.
Tap Devices.
Tap the device you want to view.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Motion Sensitivity.

Easy camera for home security

The Ring Stick Up Cam was designed to activate based on your specific needs. We can definitely provide you with more information today on the concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like you are using the modes to snooze the device when you are home and then turning it on when you leave. We have included the steps to change the mode of your device here:
Tap the menu (≡).
Tap Settings.
Tap Modes and Automations.
Tap Modes.
Tap which Mode (Disarmed, Home, Away).
Select the device you want to adjust.
Customize device setting according to your home needs.
If you don't want to change the camera's mode each time you leave your home, you can also use the "Motion Schedules" feature. We have listed the steps here for how to create a schedule for your Ring Stick Up Cam:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the top Menu (≡).
Tap Devices.
Select the device you'd like to apply the Motion Schedule to.
Tap Motion Settings.
Tap Motion Schedules.
Tap Add Schedule.
Name your schedule (Night Time, Morning, Evening, Custom).
Tap Continue.
Select the time frame you'd like to Turn Alerts Off or Turn Alerts On. (e.g. 1:00 a.m.- 6:00 a.m).
Tap Continue.
Select the days of the week you'd like to apply the schedule to.
Tap on the circles to enable the day you'd like to apply to the schedule.

Still havent made up my mind

However, the audio is not as impressive. After there has been some movement, the device doesn't record as quick as I would like. I do like that I can check live feed on the spot.

We want to ensure that your device is working as intended by providing you with solutions to resolve the concern you mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not performing as expected in regards to audio. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the befefits of the "Live View" feature. We have included some tips here to help you troubleshoot why your Ring device may be experiencing warped sound or no audio. Make sure the external volume is up on your mobile device (on the device where you're viewing your Ring videos or "Live View").
If your phone or tablet has poor service or internet, it could be affecting the audio of your "Live View" or your video downloads. Try turning Bluetooth off, then open "Live View" or view a recorded Ring video. Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including capturing audio. We recommend following these steps in the Ring app: Tap the top menu (☰), then Devices. Choose your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. Tap "Device Health." Under the "Network" section, you'll see your device's "Signal Strength." If your "Signal Strength" (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device. Open "Live View" in the Ring app and see if your Ring device's microphone is enabled. Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your Ring Stick Up Cam. Tap the "Live View" button. Check to make sure the microphone icon is enabled. You can also press the green phone icon.
If you have a Ring Protect subscription, you can view the recording to see what the audio sounds like. Check your audio privacy settings You may have your audio settings turned off for privacy reasons. Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your doorbell. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Privacy Settings." Make sure "Audio Streaming" and "Recording" is enabled.
Reboot your Ring Stick Up Cam by following these steps: Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your camera. Tap the "Device Settings" tile. Tap "Device Health." Scroll down and tap "Reboot This Device." Wait a few minutes for your device to reboot.

Quality Ok

They are alright but miss my constant connection for data/power but quality will seem spotty at times.

If you're having trouble seeing a Live View, or a recorded video, that means there's a problem in the data transfer between your Ring device and the Ring app. As a result, your Ring app is unable to show you a Live View or display a video recording from your Ring camera(s). You might see a message that says Activating Device, but the camera eventually times out. Should have do more searching before buying...

I would not have bought it if I knew I need to pay a monthly fee to keep the videos for two months. Now I either have to watch all the videos and save the ones I want within 24 hours or forced to pay the monthly fees...

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with answering your doorbell from your Ring App. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Stickup Camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.
Here is a helpful article which walks you though additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.
Also, if your Ring Stickup Camera is not picking up the correct motion, we recommend adjusting your motion settings. For more information on adjusting your motion settings to better fit your needs, please see our help center article titled: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213106363-How-to-Set-Up-Motion-Detection-for-Your-Stick-Up-Cam. Please pay close attention to the Motion Frequency setting and consider adjusting this to frequent within the Ring App. Frequent gives you the most motion alerts and ensures you don’t miss any activity.

Not as good

The wifi radio is horrible and you cannot customize motion zones the way you can with the other Ring cameras. This one is definitely a failure.

Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. Can't see thru glass

No one ever mentioned that these were incapable of seeing and functioning thru a simple piece of glass. I am really surprised that through the whole process no one told us even after we explained how we were intending to use them.It wasn't until the tech tried to install them that we found out. Even the tech was unaware. Trying to get thru to the store is almost impossible. Writing a review seems to be the only way to communicate. Other Ring equipment does not work either.

Please know that we take your peace of mind and sense of security very seriously and we are here to get this taken care of for you.
Based on your review, it seems like you are unable to use your Ring Stickup Camera behind a window. Windows generally block heat sources, which means when the Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) to detect motion, the Ring device will not be able to detect the motion through a window. There are a couple of scenarios when this can happen:
During the day, your powered Ring device uses Advanced Motion Detection, which is when the camera looks for changes physically in the environment. The Ring device should be able to see through a window during the day.
At night, your powered Ring device still uses Advanced Motion Detection but also uses Passive Infrared (PIR) to verify the motion. Since windows block heat sources, your Ring device will not be able to accurately view or record through a window at night. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring App with most of the features stripped out except for Ring device statuses and the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app instead of the original Ring App you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible.
Think of this app as a companion to the Ring App. You'll continue to use your original Ring App for all the settings functions built into your Ring devices such as checking video history or adjusting motion and video settings.

To adjust your motion settings please do the following steps: Open the Ring App, Tap the three lines in the top left corner, Tap Devices, select your desired camera, Tap Motion Settings, here you can adjust the motion sensitivity of the camera. Will work for beginners.
