    I have 5 of these… unfortunately at the time when I started buying security cameras ring was the only company with a wired floodlight cam. So instead of buying a new system I added these instead paying a lot more for sootlight cams. Out of the 5 I know own 4 of them have been replaced by Ring because they fail fairly easily from snowmelt freezing off the roof.

      Hi Cmgork, I know it's frustrating to encounter technical issues. The Stick Up Cam Plug-In is weather-resistant and has an operating temperature range of -5°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C). Extreme weather conditions or water exposure could cause damage to the Camera. Being able to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring Stick Up Cam is a valuable feature of the Ring Protect Plan. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

      It sounds like there was some confusion surrounding the optional Ring Protect Plans. The Ring Protect Plan is a subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as video doorbells, cameras, alarm, and Car Cam. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account.

      Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

      There are three Ring Protect Plans available for home devices, and one Ring Protect Plan available for Car Cam. Plans start at $3.99 per month. Visit our support center for more details.

    This camera would arbitrarily shut down. The only time I could get it to record was when it was sitting next to my router. When contacting the Geek Squad about this problem they said that was the best remedy to my problem. However, I did not need this camera to sit in my living room and look at my router. It was to be placed on the perimeter of my house so it was of no use to me.

      In the box, you should receive the Stick Up Cam Plug-In, the Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter, Screws and Wall Anchors, a User Manual, and a Security Sticker. If you cannot find the included hardware in the packaging, we recommend reaching out directly to the retailer or visiting our support center for information on spare parts kits.

    This is a wired plug in camera and does not have a battery. Yet a few months after buying it, it started showing on the ap that the camera was "critically low" on battery charge and could not live stream. The camera would still capture motion but not live stream so you can't check in. Ring has no solution on its website and its customer service is worthless DO NOT BUY

    Doesn’t work right out of the box. Says it’s working in all ways but absolutely no picture and after I installed it three of my cameras wouldn’t work turns out somehow this new camera changed privacy preferences on other cameras connected to my system. Had to figure out what it did and repair it.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Wired was designed to capture motions based on your specifications to help keep your home secure. We are here today to provide you with solutions that will assist you in finding the best device settings for your home’s environment.

      It sounds like your Ring Stick Up Cam Wired is detecting more motion than you would like. We recommend you check your motion zones to see if there is anything that could be triggering a motion alert, such as a car, a moving tree, sunlight coming into the video, or shadows moving, and adjust your motion zones accordingly.

      If you have a Ring Protect subscription, make sure you have enabled the Smart Alerts feature in the Ring app. You can then decide whether to record video and receive alerts when your device detects a person, other motion, or, for video doorbells only, a package.

    These devices seem to have a tendency to lose its ability to detect motion and have clear video quality after a few months outside I’ve had two just stop working it’ll act like it’s recording but show a black screen when trying to view it also there’s a time delay on audio when they first start recording

Here at Ring, we take your security and peace of mind seriously. Please know that we are here to ensure that we can find a resolution together.

      Poor video quality can be attributed to the wifi/bandwidth connection. One of the most important measurements in your Ring security network is the strength of your wifi signal. You may run a special connectivity test at any time to see if a bad wifi connection is responsible for problems with your device. We have included step by step instructions below:

      -Open Ring app
      -Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
      -Select Devices
      -Select a Ring device
      -Select Device Health
      -Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section
      -Tap "Start test
      -Once the test is done, Enter your Results from the Speed test

      Sometimes, even with high internet speeds, the connection is not as strong at the location of the Ring device. It is imperative that we get your Stick Up Cam setup and working to its full potential.

      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap Set Up a Device.
      Tap Security Cameras.
      Tap the blue I’m Ready to Scan button.
      Use your mobile device’s camera to scan the QR code on the device’s packaging.
      When a green square and a pop-up with your device image appear, the code has been recognized.
      Enter the location where your Ring Stick Up Cam is being set up.
      If this is your first time setting up a Ring device, the Ring app will ask you to use your phone’s location services to pinpoint your location.
      Give your camera a name.
      You can proceed with the device’s default name or give it a custom name.
      Connect your doorbell to Ring.
      iOS: Tap Join when the Ring app asks to join the Ring wifi network.
      Android: If your device does not automatically connect to the Ring wifi network:
      Exit the Ring app.
      Go to your mobile device’s Settings.
      Tap wifi.
      Select either Ring- or Ring Setup.
      Once connected, close your Settings app and return to the Ring app.

    Works until your hacked

    It was working fine and did the job until we got hacked and the videos would not save nor could we look back and find them. So the camera is all depended on your secure Wi-Fi

It's definitely important to maintain a secure network, as any device connected to your wifi can become vulnerable if a bad actor access your network. I'd recommend contacting your internet service provider regarding your wifi security.     Speaker is broken already

    The speaker is not working it’s only 4 months old . I called ring and they said it was internet. Every thing else is fine except the ring device hooked up to internet

    It says when you buy one of these or the floodlight camera you’ll revive a free gift which was an amazon Alexa dot 3rd I bought two of these cameras and a floodlight ring camera hmmmm where’s my Alexa dots???

      The Stick Up Camera can be mounted anywhere indoors or out, it can sit on its own stand or be mounted to a wall or ceiling (with a special universal mount, sold separately), but works best when approximately five to seven feet off the ground. This device was intended to be a simple do-it-yourself type of installation, but we can understand why you may need, or want, some professional assistance.     every event recorded pauses halfway through for 3 to 5 seconds making it useless, cannot get any tech support. do not waste your money on this junk.

      Based on your review, it seems that you are having trouble with your Ring Stickup Camera picking up the correct motion. The Stick Up Cam uses infrared motion capturing to detect motion, within its field of view. You can use the Ring app to determine the Stick Up Cam’s motion detection range and the specific zones where motion will trigger a smart alert. These settings help ensure that the Stick Up Cam will capture the events you want to see and ignore the ones you don’t. We want to ensure that we can answer any questions you may have concerning how the Ring Protect Plans work and how to save/share your videos, when necessary.
      Ring gives customers a complimentary 30-day trial with each new Ring device. After the 30-days you can chose if you would like to purchase a Ring Protect Plan or not. A Ring Protect Plan is not necessary to view real time notifications on your Ring cameras. Without the Ring Protect Plan, you can still use the live view and two-way audio feature, you are still able to see who is at your door and answer motion notifications. In order to see past recorded videos from your ring device, you will need the optional Ring Protect Plan, which starts at $3/month per device or $30/year per device.
