My yard slopes upward from the street. Motion is not sensitive to vertical movement therefore I don't get a notice when someone is at the start of my yard. I only get motion alert as they step onto the porch.

I love the ability to see who is at the door anywhere and anytime. Didn't give it 5 stars because it is a little too sensitive and large vehicles driving in front of the house sets it off.

Overall happy with this product. The sensitivity settings are a little touchy - even after adjusting, motion in the street still sets the sensor off.

I previously owned the Ring Video Doorbell 1. It worked great but the motion sensor is way too sensitive. I wanted a second doorbell, to have video of my backyard, so I purchased the Ring Video Doorbell 2 for my front door and relocated the old one to the backyard. The Doorbell 2 works way better than the previous version. The video seems a bit more clear. Also, it's less sensitive - it picks up just the right motion activity. Great buy!

The Ring doorbell installed easily and works great. The only issue is that it is a little too sensitive to motion. It alerts when trucks drive by the house.

the doorbell has worked well in my house, it has a good camera that is quite clear. The box contained all of the tools needed and even a little level. The motion sensing has been somewhat too sensitive but I can adjust that

I enjoy the Ring doorbell! It is everything that you expect it to be! The only thing I would complain about it is how sensitive the sensor is. It alarms you for the smallest things going by like a butterfly and a leaf, but besides that I enjoy it

We love this doorbell overall, but I will say the battery capacity isn't what they say it is. I've had it less than 6 months and have had to charge it several times. I've even decreased the sensitivity range so it doesn't pick up as much ambient stuff like cards. Overall I love it, but just have to charge it more than I assumed I would, which means more time with less security.

I really like the concept of how this works. We live on a corner and have difficulty with it being too sensitive to cars passing by. It captures lots of street movement but not peripheral areas well such as my driveway which I really wanted. Overall I like it but mine apparently needs fine tuning. Also, we have a narrow area for trim (just wide enough for a standard doorbell) and a slight inset so we had to add a block of wood to bring the viewing area out past the house.

The system required me to hire Geek Squad. I was surprised the length of time the installation required. The camera is over sensitive and cars driving by my house set it off. No time now but have to get this adjusted. Otherwise good.

I think it's the best home protection device for really fair price and $3 per month for access to captured video. That's $36 less than home life. The deal for middle model was great and it came with Alexa , and I enjoy messing with the artificial intelligence. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I get movement alerts but no image. The system is a little too sensitive. This system allows you to see what has happened in the neighborhood and see all of the scum stealing.

I bought the doorbell to add a little security and see delivery guys and avoid sales people. The doorbell is pretty easy to install and I am not very handy. I had it installed in maybe 15 minutes. My main complaints are it is hard to set the motion sensor sensitivity perfectly. I get many false alerts with the sensitivity up otherwise I miss some alerts that do come to the door. Also the signal could be stronger with my stucco walls. I do like the system though.

I was hesitant on purchasing a battery powered doorbell but this product has laid that to rest. It works terrific and the battery has been quite good so far. It has been 5 weeks and the battery is still above a quarter of the charge with motion alerts on and set to low sensitivity. The camera captures very nice quality video and has a great field of view. Set up was fairly easy but I the app is a little slow to respond to certain changes like chime tones. The response time on alerts to my phone has also been very good. I do have a very strong wireless connection set up for the device however. The basic subscription at $30 per year is also affordable in my opinion. It seems like a reasonable price to be able to record and save alerts without the need of a physical storage device. Overall this is has been a great investment and is optimized pretty well at the moment.

Has not worked for me very well since day 1. After turning the sensitivity all the down I would still get multiple false notifications for the motion detection. I finally just turned off motion and just wanted to use the camera for live views. Well live view rarely works. Maybe 1 out of 10 times it actually shows me the live view. When it does work the person is usually already gone. Don't even get me started on how they upload every video but make you pay $3 monthly to view your own video when they don't even offer you the option to store it locally (such as on an sd card). My very cheap $25 indoor cameras give you 24 hrs of free viewing of uploaded videos and most importantly when I want to see live view, they actually show me the live view which my expensive Ring is unable to do. I'm sure they would blame my network but again my cheap cameras always show live view even when I'm on a cellular network with my phone and I'm lucky if Ring will show me even when I'm connected to same home network! I was very excited for this purchase and have been nothing but disappointed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I have been using Ring DoorBell 2 for last 4 months and can say with confidence that it is not the perfect product as advertised. Few issues: 1. @@@@@@@ Lack of controls: You can not control the volume of the doorbell that the outside person hears. It's too loud and monotonous 2. @@@@@@@ Poor audio: Volume for the outside person is very low and makes it really difficult to hear. Again, there is no way to increase it 3. @@@@@@@ Poor connectivity: Live view has never worked for me. Everytime I hit the live view button, it gets stuck complaining "phone couldn't connect to the ring". Customer support says that the network/wifi strength is not strong enough at the Ring. I installed a mesh router close to the door, wifi signal strength is ~100MbPS at the Ring but still live view does not work. 4. @@@@@@@ Motion sensor is too sensitive: I have set the motion sensor settings at minimum (5 feet zone) but it still picks-up vehicles passing through the street (>20 feet away from the door) 5. @@@@@@@ Very poor battery life: My biggest complaint is the battery life. They advertise it to be 180 days (~6 months) but even with the least sensitive settings I have never seen battery lasting >25 days. We hardly have any visitors pressing the door-bell so I am not sure where my battery is going. 6. @@@@@@@ Poor interface: This is very stupid and naive of the interface developers. Camera always opens in horizontal mode on phone but app always opens and operates in vertical mode. So you have to hold the phone vertical to look at /control from the app but turn horizontal when camera/recorded videos open. So you are in this cycle of turning phone vertical/horizontal when you are going through the footage recorded in the cloud. Simply careless design.
