    I purchased the Ring 2 during cyber Monday thinking this was a product I can't live without. My son has one and several friends as well. I should have read the 1 and 2 Star reviews first, but seeing an overall rating of 4+ stars convicted me to go forward with the purchase. I was impressed with all the hardware and even the tool for the installation. Luckily, I've an existing doorbell so I was assuming installation would be a breeze. I followed the instructions installed the doorbell and proceeded to setup the network process. After connecting it to the network, I tried to watch a live feed. That didn't work. It couldn't connect even with an RSSI of -50. After rsearching issues and trying to identify a solution, I decided to remove the doorbell, bring it inside and configure it right next to the router. I finally got it to work and feed a live picture. I then reinstalled it outside again and that seemed to correct the picture feed issues. Now that we have used the doorbell for 1 week, I've found that it won't record until after there has been motion activity for about 5-10 seconds. Then the length of the recording very limited to a few seconds. @@@@@@@@ 10-18 sec). The other day, UPS delivered a package and it never even triggered. Other times delivery people have come up and dropped off a package and they are off the porch and almost gone before the recording and alert goes off. Totally unacceptable !!! I've had to rely on our other security camera to identify what was going on during these events and to get a clear picture of the entire situation. Very disappointed in the sluggishness of the alerts, the shortness of the recordings and the lack of notifications and false positives it gives. I should just return it and get my money back.

    Upon initial installation, this was great! About 3 weeks into using it, I noticed the battery drained very quickly! I was expecting to go longer than 3 weeks off of a full battery (in the 2 months that I've had this, I've had to charge it 4 times, even with the recommended battery settings) . Then I noticed that the video quality was deteriorating. Very choppy and grainy. Now, the video only works half of the time...I'll either get a grainy, chopped up video, or I'll just get a black screen. Yesterday, as I left my house, my alert went off to let me know there was movement on my porch... but it didn't even record, as it's supposed to! No video popped up for it at all. There are times when I'll go to check prior videos and it'll show solicitors leaving my house but not approaching my house, which I've it set up to do. That defeats the purpose! I've only had this for 2 months and I can't say I'm pleased with this purchase... not for the money I paid.

    Easy to setup but app is buggy

    The door bell is a good idea. It gives a good wide angle. The camera is still not as high quality. Unless the person is at the door, the face is not completely clear. The app is still not up to expectations. It takes several seconds sometimes to open the app and show the person who is at the door. The recording of events is not that good compared to other security cam such as Samsung. When a motion is detected, the recorded video should takes 4 to 5 seconds back so that you can see as the person comes in. In general, I won't return the item to the store. It is not great but kinda okay. There is a $3 per month fee to keep the recording. Or $10 per month for unlimited cams.
