Super easy to install and hook up to other devices to enable all features shown on Box. Only let down was the mislead info about having to pay an annual fee for recording & sharing options?!?

While general setup was pretty straightforward, and the video quality is very good. I am very disappointed with the "feature" that only allows for 30 second recording of an event, unless the user manually chooses to record longer. I had a situation where a package was delivered, and the delivery man ended up coming back to move the package to a location less visible to public view. The RIng only captured the event of the delivery, not him moving the package. When checked the other feeds, the package was not there which naturally caused me to believe that the package was stolen, but there was no video evidence from Ring of this happening. Luckily I still have another security camera (inside the house, but pointed outside) which captured the full event. I purchased the Ring as a replacement for my original security cam, due to the original's poor night performance (due to reflection from window @@@@@@@

fishbowl camera works, battery works, purchased solar panel charger. . seems to work - paying monthly and app not giving option for live view (or at least that is an easy option to pick) is interesting... this is one company that does not allow you to use a live recording locally so keep that in mind.

Great pictures and mostly timely notifications and alerts, but a bit slow going to app and then to live video. Sometimes I have to wait for live to go to recording. Also the battery needs charging more often than I expected.

I install this myself and I've never put in a doorbell before, I replaced an old one, super easy anyone can do it. After 30 days you can choose three dollars a month or $10 a month plan and I signed up for the three dollars because I think it's worth it. You do not need a subscription but you won't be able to save the video recording's.

It's good for the price, but like others have commented, it does have a lag in the video. It doesn't start recording as soon as movement is there. And I also have trouble seeing the live view.

Video recordings were choppy and laggy. Didn't like that you had to pay for cloud service. Returned item and waiting for Arlo doorbell

I love the camera but wish recording would be better. It does not record long when detects someone in front of camera. Longer recording should occur for better understanding of videos

Ring is nice. I don't like that you have a monthly payment for the recordings. Arlo gives seven days free.

I think I wrote a review when I first got this and gave it a favorable review. But after using it for a while now, it's not as good as it first seemed. The video quality is very good, the phone app works well, simple to set up. But what I hate most , and I have not seen anyone else comment on this, is when the camera gets done recording an activity(30 sec), it takes several minutes for the camera to reboot before it can record another activity. So, if you have more than one visitor within a 4-5 minute window, you won't get a recording of the second or third person. This is critical if the purpose of the camera is to catch porch pirates. I have a great wifi signal to the doorbell (even though I just recieve a *good* rating on the devise health on the app), so I know it's not that. And I don't see anywhere where you can adjust the camera to cycle faster. If I were looking for a video doorbell to buy today, I would look elsewhere, and ask how fast the camera recycles.

Just a $200 doorbell without subscription

If you don't pay monthly, this thing is just a $200 doorbell button. It will still notify you that someone is at your door, but you most likely will not be be able to get your phone out of your pocket, unlock your phone, open the program, wait for it to make a connection and show you who is at your door because whomever was there will probably be gone before the 30 seconds is up. After the initial 30 days, it will not record anything unless you pay $3 monthly to RING, forever. You will have to pay RING every month for as long as you own this, even though you own it and it uses YOUR wifi in order to work.

I have Ring installed at my front and back door. Alerts me every time that someone is there. Helped prove that a delivery wasn't made based on the recording made at the time and day they said package was left. Easy to install and pair to app

The Ring Door Bell is a great concept, however it does not work perfectly. I purchased the ring door chime as well, and there is a noticeable lag between when the door bell is pushed and when the chime rings. There is major internet connection problem with the ring door bell. I have 1GB internet speed and the ring door bell is about 3 feet from my router and it drops connection randomly, the video is extremely choppy, video recordings are sometimes black, it shows it recorded an event, but you cannot view the video.

My Ring doorbell only seems to work sporadically, except when large vehicles go by on my very busy street. I can walk or drive out of my garage and it doesn't record the movement, but when a garbage truck goes by, I get that clear as day! I've tried adjusting the motion sensors, but that hasn't given me an acceptable fix. I'm also disappointed that I can't seem to adjust the motion separately for vehicles and people. Maybe I'm not adept enough at technology to figure this out.

I've had the ring doorbell installed for about three weeks and really like it. We are an Alexa family that's why I chose this over the Nest. The downside is the motion sensor isn't all that accurate. It catches me walking out my door when I get the mail but when I come back in it doesn't catch me on the camera when it starts recording. Overall I'd recommend it.

    Poor Wi-Fi signal

Live view is slow when it works. I got at least 60mbps on my iPhone next to ring bell. Added ring chime with extender and that didn't make it better. Put modem closer to ring and still get poor Wi-Fi signal. Keeps saying "activating device" and then it doesn't work. Records only 30 seconds instead of stopping recordings after no movement. I think this is a recording app issue. The first 5 seconds of recordings freezes. Tech says it's due to ring being installed on brick. So don't buy a brick house. Main problem is the poor signal causing bad images and recordings. Easy to install.

Overall I really enjoy my ring doorbell, the only thing I hate is that often it take like 10 seconds too long to start recording, and even longer to start audio with it. The video quality is initially grainy, but gets much better in a few seconds. Really the best part about this setup is that it notifies you within about 5 seconds of motion, which can be great because you can catch things in the act. I do wish the app was a little better, some times a full 30 second clip will be just black. Not sure why. Also I wish it would record events longer than just 30 seconds, the only way it records longer is if you are currently watching the event as it unfolds.

Bought it to replace my old ring doorbell 1 which had an awful battery. Battery lasts longer and is easier to recharge. There is a lag on motion sensor and video recording. Curiously enough it will sense cars passing by but I go undetected when pulling up my driveway which is closer than the street. Overall, it serves its purpose which is a doorbell and aeeing who is at the door. As a surveillance it is average in my opinion.

The ring has been a great addition during the holiday season. Not only does it let me know when the doorbell has been rang, but it sends a notification when there is motion. From a security standpoint, that is nice. The quality of video is good and covers a large area. The bonus that I wasnt expecting is the neighborhood watch. There is a blog of events around town so that we can work together to fight crime. Negative - there is a battery, although it lasts quite a while and you have to pay a monthly service charge to keep recordings. Overall a good product
