So far so good for Ring. Love the picture quality and the ease of adjustment for the camera. Direct notifications to your phone are great. Install was fairly painless, and it easily hardwired into my old doorbell so there is no need for backup batteries.

This is awesome. Can be installed easily by anyone who owns a screw driver and can put batteries in a device. It took about 5 minutes to install it and get it working. I've had this for quite some time now and it still works fine. I get a notification to my phone when someone is at the door, even if they DON'T ring the doorbell. If you want a doorbell sound to ring in the house, (in addition to a phone notification or instead of a phone notification) you need to get the Ring Chime. I have that too and it works fine. I think it's worth mentioning that I live in a dead zone and my wifi is spotty and my phone drops a call sometimes but I have NEVER had a Wifi issue with the door bell. I also have an Echo Show and all I have to do is say, "Alexa, show me the front door" in order to see who is at the door.

I like this doorbell camera better than the one I had from our security provider. It's clear and easy to use. My husband installed it and other than it being a little wide it's easy to self install. I could have gone with the latest model if the width was a real issue but for the price I'm good with what I paid for.

Works great. Video is very clear and range is good. Easy install and it lets me know when the battery is low (it could also be wired in directly). I purchased an extra battery so that I always have one charged.

Super easy to install and run on battery. Motion sensor and doorbell work with amazon echo to let you know when someone is there. Video quality is good enough. Only thing is, it's pretty big so make sure there's enough space to mount it where you want it.

This was a really great product to monitor our front door while I was out of the house and needed to answer the door. Each time I would get a visitor, it was easy to take the call and explain that we were not able to take visitors. As I was actually out on errands and could arrange a later time or day whatever was the case. Great product and it worked all month and soon will be time to charge the battery!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the Ring doorbell is to set up and use. The video is so clear and the audio is too. I like that there is an app for Windows 10 so I can use my laptop at home to view activity. Great security camera for a good price. The 30 dollar membership per year to store videos is well worth it,

I like it approximately 30 days in. Still seems to need some tweaking. Interesting to see what other Ring customers are capturing in the vicinity with porch pirates, bears, attempted auto burglary, questionable, soliciting, etc. When using the shortest motion distance setting, often times we only capture the back of the delivery person. The next setting out seems to be too far out often tripped by passing cars but does capture delivery person approaching now. Image quality could be better. Nice color during daylight hours. Easy install and adding to the home network. Application works relatively well. I just signed up for the $100 annual contract to capture and store, share video recordings. Nice to get real-time delivery notifications. Especially important for temperature sensitive deliveries, insulin etc.

    Awesome Video Doorbell

This is my second Ring Doorbell. I have the first edition Ring Video Doorbell, which was already an awesome product...easy to setup, operate, answer, and record. As I wanted to use the solar charger with my first doorbell, I moved it to the back door for direct sunlight and purchased the second edition Ring Video Doorbell. The improvements made to the second edition are unbelievable. I receive a crystal clear color video at night with enhanced HD video, the sound clarity both answering and talking is better as well as new additions to choose for doorbell tones. It is still extremely easy to setup, connect to your Wi-Fi network, operate, answer and record all movements around the area. I highly recommend the Ring Video Doorbell to anyone looking for a device that provides security, the ability to answer your door from anywhere and gives you peace of mind by monitoring your property!

I am in love with my Ring doorbell. I don't have it hardwired to my existing doorbell. It sits too low. The battery has been going strong about a month now and it's down to 78% so the battery lasts a long time. It really gives me peace of mind knowing that people will no longer steal packages off my porch and if they do, they will be seen. I did have to adjust the radius because it was seeing too far out for my liking but I'm very very happy with it. It was super easy to install. I spent more time watching youtube videos than I did actually installing it. I don't have any special tools and didn't have to drill holes. It comes with just what you need to mount it and I didn't need anything extra. It even has a small level inside the box which was nice to aid with installation. I go on and on about my Ring doorbell. I'd recommend this to everyone.

    Perfect Solution

The Ring Doorbell 2 improves upon it's predecessor in that you can either use the battery or connect to an existing hard wired doorbell. I've been using the battery since about late June and now, in late September, the battery is about 43%. I'd consider myself a moderate user of it. The quality is highly dependent of your internet connection to the doorbell unit itself and the internet connection to the phone device you're using to monitor. I've had connections range from crystal clear audio and perfect video to choppy audio/video. Overall I'd say my quality is average/acceptable. You do NOT have to pay Ring for the option to VIEW LIVE instances, but you DO have to pay in order to watch RECORDED instances and refer back to them in the future. It's not a lot when broken down monthly and worth it. The phone app, on both iPhone and Android works well. Installation and use of the device has been made EASY thanks to Ring - it was the best installation experience ever, with all tools except a drill included, and helpful instructional videos on their website/app.

    Very good video doorbell

I got this Ring doorbell at a very good price. Set up and installation was fairly easy, just follow the directions in the Ring app. Installation took longer than I wanted because the battery needed to be fully charged first. That could take up to 10 hours. I charged mine for a couple of hours and then installed it. My Ring doorbell is hardwired so the battery will be charged by it. My only disappointment, and the reason for 4 stars and not 5, is the wifi reception that the doorbell receives. I have a strong wifi signal at the installation point, but the Ring doorbell says it is weak. I think Ring should put a better antenna in the device or allow a small wire antenna to be attached. Is this a way for them to sell the Ring Chime Pro wifi extender?

This item was purchased to give my family peace of mind when we aren't home. It also it helpful to see when packages are delivered. I couldn't mount my device with the tools included but used heavy duty command strips. Sometimes these have to be changed out due to having to recharge the device. -Can be installed pretty much anywhere with WIFI access -Simple to use with Ring app -With an extra cost you can record and save video for later playback. When I purchased mine, it came with a trial period -Visual quality is pretty good, even at night or when it is raining What is annoying -Had to pay for the playback of video -The motion detection can be very sensitive, especially if you have an outdoor pet or close neighbors. However the Ring app has a function can remedy this. -BATTERY has to be charged often.

Bought this a while back and it’s worked incredibly well. We use it hardwired to the existing doorbell wiring , so there’s no battery to charge. The ring was super easy to install in about 15 minutes. The app allows you to control the motion distance, so you start capturing video before someone gets up to the door. This works great for notifying us when a delivery has been made. The live view has allowed me to chat with contractors remotely when I was running late to meet them. For about $30/year you can have videos stored in the cloud for reference later should something happen while away. The base model isn’t Apple HomeKit compatible, but I think the Pro version will be or already is. You can use IFTTT events with it (ie turn the porch light on when motion is detected at the door, etc.) if you have a smart light hub or something similar.
