Better Ring Doorbell than the first gen!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought the Ring Doorbell 2 to replace my original Ring Doorbell. The Ring Doorbell have connection problems and I keep calling tech support and they keep replacing it with a new one or refurbished. So I gave up and placed it in the back door and used the Ring Doorbell 2. Now this one in my opinion is way better. Response was quicker connection was always on picture and video is clearer. Also they supplied you with a wedge to help with false alarms. And battery life was better and I even bought a backup battery when the battery gets low in the Doorbell and all I will do is switched with fully charged one and charged the low charged one.

Great home security camera...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Ring Doorbell mostly for kicks and giggles. It's nice being able to view a live stream anywhere. The image quality is very good. The only problems I've had are that the battery dies quick especially when using the enhanced quality live view and the live view takes awhile to load sometimes. I also bought the Chime since we were planning to run on battery but I am planning to hardwire the Ring so I won't have to charge the battery.

Works great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had several packages stolen from our front door so we had to do something about it. After installing the Ring Doorbell 2, we have a recording of everyone who steps up to the porch, plus we are notified when we get deliveries. It's sad that we have been forced to do this kind of security, but thank goodness for Ring to make this possible. Easy to install and works great.

Ring fan
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had Ring products since the beginning and continue to support the tech. It was time to upgrade from the original version 1 and Version 2 is even better. The option comes with a removable rechargeable battery, two face plates (brown and silver), and angle mounting kits. It's everything you need to get setup. It's very easy to setup and within the app are instructions if you need them. Video quality is 1080p. I highly recommend it as Ring keeps integrating new features. Some of which I requested. This is perfect for someone who is just getting started out with home protection devices.

BIG Improvement from the Ring 1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this ring to replace my original ring (which is only 720P and I moved to my rear door) in hopes of better imaging. I was VERY impressed. Not only does the higher resolution help, but the better light handling of this device allows for less washed out videos. Major improvement in this regard. Having a swappable battery means LESS down time. So you're probably asking why I didn't give it 5 Stars? Well, mostly because, like the original RING, video recording starts too late at times and can even miss a fast moving person going in or out the door. Don't know why they don't use a video buffer that constantly records and deletes until motion occurs, then keeps the 3-5 second prior to movement. Guess this would hurt battery life, but would make this device more useful. As is, Since I installed it I have yet to charge the battery... it's been about a month now. SO- perhaps they need to rethink their programming a bit?? hmmmm..

So far so good. Slow to connect via app.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the Ring doorbell to: 1) give us a doorbell at our rural property with multiple floors, and 2) provide internet connectivity so that we could monitor people at our front door when not at home or on another floor and needing to see who is at the door. The good: the doorbell was relatively easy to attach, set up (wireless) to the internet via the chime, and connect the app and set up options for areas of view, various chimes, and set alerts. The not so good: The connectivity to the app is slow. I do have an older iPhone but we have gigabit speed internet and it just takes a long time to get the app to open and connect to allow you to speak to the person at the door. Video quality has been pretty good but not as clear as I expected for going with the 1080p camera. Overall, we are satisfied and even considering a 2nd doorbell for another entrance.

Better Than Expected
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We used SimpliSafe since it originally came on the market, and had been very happy with their doorbell/camera product. We recently moved to Mexico, and unfortunately, SimpliSafe was not an option. Enter the Ring Doorbell 2. We installed on our new home, and we couldn’t be happier. The Ring 2 has more functionality than the our old doorbell, the camera quality (with night vision) is phenomenal, the connectivity with our iPhones has yet to encounter any issues, and we can use all subscription products with the exception of home monitoring with police dispatch. The Ring 2 also integrates with Alexa and Samsung SmartThings, and is an overall, high quality, easy to use and setup product. We would definitely recommend.

Good Buy.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the video quality of this device. Easy to install and easy to use. Just follow instructions, connect to WiFi, connect to doorbell and you’re good to go. You can pay $3 a month or $30 a year for a plan with Ring to store your videos. Or you can not choose either and just save what you need as you go along. I say just spend the $30 and call it a day. The doorbell is very loud though. You’ll get the notification on your phone and hear it throughout the house. Love the option to answer the ring and speak from my phone to them. Great for saying you aren’t home if you are, or redirecting delivery personnel if they get the wrong house. I really like this device.

Wonderful Fix for porch pirating!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For Christmas 2019, I chose to get my parents a video doorbell after we had been porch-pirated several weeks earlier. I had originally opted for the Eufy by Anker Video Doorbell. After an issue with the company I purchased that from along with being scammed out of my purchase, I knew the better option would be the Ring Video Doorbell. Man was I right. I purchased online on Dec. 24th and picked up later that day. Installing was a breeze and wiring it to our existing doorbell system was the right way to go! Now we get notifications to all of our devices when someone approaches our door and it’s even better to catch things like me tripping off our front step!

Added security
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Install was pretty simple, but I would recommend having a drill. Picture quality is decent, but i think the video starts a little late. I have a medium range motion detector set, but sometimes the video won't start until the person is already next to the doorbell.

Good start for front door security
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kinda easy to install. Might need to read directions over a few times but it does work. Don't give up. Be sure to charge the battery first because it might take hours until charged. Use the old wired button to maintain the charge. Can download the app. on more than one phone. You will need a good WiFi router. I have a tp link AC 1200 router Archer c1200 that I bought from Best Buy that seems to support everything I have running. I don't stream movies so I can't add if a 1200 will be enough. It's just my wife and myself. This Doorbell 2 is COOL. Motion detector response is fast. I can be at work and talk to the people at my front door if I want or just listen. Having a good phone is also going to help.

Ring doorbell 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got this set up. Doorbell itself was a straightforward set up following directions. The hardest part was attaching it to the stucco. The drill bit that comes with it didn’t work too well. Need to have stronger drill and better bit. Now that it’s working I have mixed feelings. It’s great to be able to see and talk to anyone at the door especially when I’m not home. But alerts go off and records every time I go in and out the door and when I’m working outside. It has even detected the trash pickup. I think if you have a large household all those alerts would start to get on your nerves. Can connect to cellphone, tablet and Amazon Echo show. Great extra layer of security.

Nice Product
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ring works as advertised, it is my first. The app set up and installation was quite simple. They gave you step by step instruction and the tools to do the job with except a drill. But other than that it was a breeze. I was a little hesitant about installing it at first, because I had to drill holes into the brick on my house. The picture quality is very good, I like that you are able to set the field radius in which you are to alerted, at first I was alerted to every car that rode down the street and that was getting old quick so I adjusted the field. It does what it says it does. It is a good product.

Works as Advertised.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Ring Video Doorbell 2 because all my neighbors had one. I didn't see a need but it was definitely worth it. Installation is simple and they have the step by step directions and tools that you need. After installing it, I am able to see if I have any packages at my front door and the two-way talking helped respond to people at the front door. Because mine is hardwired, the battery life isn't really an issue for me . The video quality is good. I would recommend to make sure you have a high Upload speed with your internet provider, otherwise the picture quality and sound will be choppy.

Easy set up, works great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a wired doorbell with this Ring Video Doorbell 2, which does have an internal rechargeable battery. It uses the same two wires that the original doorbell used, and they keep it charged. It comes with several adapters to help fit it in the best position to view whats happening. Set up was straightforward, and it does a good job of capturing whats going on at our front porch. Our house faces the street, and in order to capture the motions that I was looking for, i had to turn the sensitivity all the way up. Of course, now this means that it also captures almost every car going down the street. I eventually turned off the motion notifications on the app, as they were blowing up my phone. Overall, I'm happy with this doorbell, and it does a great job!
