Set up was very simple, and since I hard wired it into my regular doorbell, the battery always stays charged! Great picture and very simple app setup.

I like the fact that no wiring needed and working well so far. Battery life a bit questionable approx. two to three months but I bought a spare battery so I can swap it when needed. Few false alarm with motion thing but nothing annoying. I also bought an extra chime so we can hear the sound if the phone is not around. Didn’t like the 3 dollars monthly optional cloud thing but what can you say.

1st Gen ring is just as good as 2nd gen and wks great. The connection is always great as long as you have good cellular service and your WiFi is good in the house. The better your WiFi the better the camera wks. I enjoy the neighborhood notifications where others with ring doorbells can post video clips of what has happened nearby. Great purchase and easy to install. Always connect to your pre existing doorbell wiring if you can. I’ve seen people attach to their actual door or right next to there doorbell. Bad locations. Just attach to doorbell wiring so no charging.

I really like the installation kit that comes with this doorbell, it seems they thought of everything that you might need, it includes different mounting plates to mount the doorbell at different angles to optimize motion detection and view on video. Also included are multiple faceplates for a custom look. The instructions are very clear with easy to find video within the app. Installation and setup were both easy. The doorbell does exactly what we want it to and it is easy to customize for the best experience. It will work with existing doorbell wiring or with the included rechargeable battery. We feel more secure having it, especially with it being online shopping/ porch pirate season.

Love this product, I am able to check my front door when I'm not there. Love the rechargeable battery that uses the micro USB cable. Battery lasts me about 3-4 weeks with highest definition and fastest response time. Takes about 3-5 hours for full charge for me, so I do it when I'm home and plug it back in, super convenient.

This device is easy to install and use. It provides a degree of security that we did not have before. Battery recharge occurs approximately every 10 days,so will be purchasing a spare battery.

Super easy to install with lots of information covering all the variables. Online customer service was EXCELLENT when I had a charging issue with the battery - turned out to be a bad cable and they sent me a replacement ASAP. Also came with two covers (silver (shown on box) and a bronze option) to better match your exterior. The app is very user friendly and you'll spend a little time after you go live adjusting settings to cut down on the alerts from cars going by, neighbors on the sidewalk, etc. Video is great and app also alerts us to potential issues around the neighborhood which is also a plus. Great purchase.

Pretty easy to install. Did have to contact customer support because WiFi signal was weak, but they rectified the issue. Be careful not to set the device with too many notifications as it will drain the battery and you will have to recharge it.

First, the Ring Video Doorbell was easy to install, took about 1/2 hour to install - of course, you need to charge the battery first, so open the package and charge the battery the night before. Second, the video quality is HD, clear, and easy to identify people, pets and wildlife. Third, Ring is part of the Neighbors community so you get notifications and videos from your neighbors about wildlife, package thieves, car prowls, unwanted solicitations, and other events such as police or fire activity in or near your neighborhood.

I got this Ring doorbell because I don't like to drill holes in my door and I'm not an electrician. I got gorilla sticky tape and tapes this bad boy to my front door. It has a rechargeable battery so be sure to pick up another rechargeable battery so you never have any downtown. Download the app, connect it to your wifi. Works perfectly and best of all my door is not damaged and I didn't have to hire a pricey electrician. Don't think twice about this bad boy. Great if you have an office and don't want to spend big bucks. Works perfectly don't think twice.

I bought this after having seen this on TV and now I'm a raving fan. This bad boy sends you a text when someone rings the door bell so that you an see who it is and speak to them if need be. This feature is awesome if you're not home or don't want to answer the door. Better yet, have the Geek Squad install it!

Awesome doorbell, biggest issue is the lag between someone activating the motion sensor/doorbell and the alert you get on your phone. Other than that the doorbell works as advertised it's a nice deterrent for solicitors most will just walk up notice the doorbell and walk away. We live in a safe neighborhood but the added piece of mind while we are away is nice. I also like how it links you to other ring users in the area and you can share videos of suspicious activity

This device has made us feel more secure in the fact that we do not have to be at the door to see who is there, or who is out front in the area. Very easy to install and the tech support was fantastic! I am new to this product, and the only thing I wish was that i could access the camera at any time just to look. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars.

installed pretty easy, decided to hard wire it even though it can run off the battery. camera quality is good. if they update it with more features it'll be even better

The product itself is very good. It has motion detection, which sometimes it’s annoying when a bunch of squirrels are congregating on my porch, but I generally know someone is at my home before they push the doorbell. New updated features offer a snapshot of the person at your door, which I receive on my Apple Watch so I’m alerted, but not distracted. It’s downfall is in the wedge adapters which don’t offer good installation with vinyl siding. Good news... there is a lifetime theft warranty on any Ring Doorbells.

Our standard doorbell wiring was disrupted in a renovation so we decided to try the Ring Video Doorbell 2. Installation and set up is easy. The issue is with he app. We have fast WiFi but there is still a delay from the time someone rings the doorbell until the app rings. I have a dedicated iPad in the kitchen for the doorbell. I Suspect the reason for the delay is that the system is working thru the cloud. The system should be able to work directly from the doorbell to a device if they are on the same network which would result in instantaneous ringin. Also the app does not seem to want to maintain its rotation orientation which should be able to be fixed. Video quality is very good.

It works well, has a very clear picture. My issues are this: One, it didn't have any information on the box that you had to pay for a subscription so you could actually see your videos. If you missed it "live", you had no ability to go back and see it. It's $30 a year, and I think there is a class action suit against them for lack on information. Two, it takes forever on my phone to actually see the motion, or see who rang. The company told me to download a second app called rapid ring that is supposed to be faster, but it's not. I still have to unlock my phone and click on the app, so it's not really that fast

The Ring doorbell has surpassed my expectations. No matter where I am if I want to check in front of my house I can. If detects something passing by in front I can see it. If someone presses the doorbell I see it. It’s the perfect sercurity device. Everyone that has a smart phone should have a ring door bell. I liked that it came with the different finish for the housing so you don’t have to have that bright silver and go with the more sleek looking bronze. I truly can’t say enough good things about this product. Instructions are dummy proof and the videos on YouTube from Ring make it that much easier.
