Great for security of home. Easy to install and user friendly with the app. Does require an plan for continued use for video storing.

This product is great. It is life changing in that we no longer have to wonder who is at the front door. We can easily see who is ringing. Additionally, it gives a chime if a person comes within range. That tells us if the Amazon person has stopped by. It is in the same category as call tracing and the telephone answering machine. Money well spent.

The doorbell was installed by the contractor building my house. He brought the wrong transformer with him, so the installation took a little longer than it should. Since I wasn't doing the installation, I opted for the wired model instead of the battery-powered model. I love the doorbell because my home is in the country, and my work is in town.

We inadvertently purchased the "wired" doorbell. Installation is pretty straight forward, but check out the youtube video first to save yourself time. The package comes with a special screw driver, but you will need both a flat head and phillips head screw driver available. If this is a replacement door bell, meaning if you are swapping an existing door bell for the Ring, you will likely require a cover plate since the original opening is likely larger than the new Ring door bell. Save yourself time, buy the special plate in advance. The quality of the picture and the sound is much better than we anticipated and we wish we had done this years ago.
