We inadvertently purchased the "wired" doorbell. Installation is pretty straight forward, but check out the youtube video first to save yourself time. The package comes with a special screw driver, but you will need both a flat head and phillips head screw driver available. If this is a replacement door bell, meaning if you are swapping an existing door bell for the Ring, you will likely require a cover plate since the original opening is likely larger than the new Ring door bell. Save yourself time, buy the special plate in advance. The quality of the picture and the sound is much better than we anticipated and we wish we had done this years ago.
