Connects well with my iPhone, but we've having a difficult time trying to get it to connect in our condo using wifi for some reason. Our son, who is our family tech guy and has his house connected beautiful with literally everything....gets ours connected, but it disconnects for some reason. It would appear that we'll have to have our cable company make a visit and find the issue. Also, the perimeter/sensitivity controls are a little difficult to reign into our specific sidewalk area. Natural movements and things I can't adjust are the most frustrating. Fast moving clouds on windy days have become my mortal enemies!

      Hi SmartGrandparents53.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Wired Doorbell Plus online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done".

The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz frequencies. High-speed internet is recommended. If your Ring device is far from your wifi router, it may be experiencing connection issues.

Here are a few of the top reasons for poor connectivity:
Your Ring device may be too far from your WiFi router.
Your mobile device has a low signal or poor connection.
Your home wifi connection is poor (or your internet service provider is experiencing high traffic).

To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap “Devices.”
Select the ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the “Device Health” tile.
Scroll to “Signal Strength” under the “Network” section.
The green, amber, and red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good; red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.

Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere with or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.

Check your mobile device's signal. If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues accessing your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi from wherever you are.

Most internet service providers range from 100–400 mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10–100 mbps for uploading. If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

In my opinion the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is an excellent product. It definitely does what it is supposed to do from ringing in my home and my cellphone. I know when packages are delivered and do not have to be concerned with porch pirates. Also when I am away it is easy to communicate with whomever is at my door. I also put a Ring camera on my back door which works well in conjunction with my doorbell on the front door.

Installment for the Ring Doorbell was super easy, and it even worked at my apartment! Thanks to the slim size and handy base that allows screws at any placement you want, you can easily use the same screw holes from your current doorbell - AKA, no damage to the rental! Most deliveries don't ring my doorbell or knock, so having the person and package alert on has been a huge lifesaver for knowing when my shipments arrive. What's more, if need be I can use the device to speak with anyone at my door to let them know when I'll be home.

I was going to buy a robotic vacuum and they had one on clearance and I put it in my cart to buy and when I got to the register , they said they must have marked the wrong one and they will not sell it to me for the clearance price. It was the matching number to the clearance item . The manager ripped the sign down with two hand , because it was glued on . I said the item matches the numbers on the clearance and you will not honor that and he said no. I said it was not my fault you marked it wrong. I will never go back after buying this ring doorbell.

Long story short, I first installed a Ring Doorbell (2020) and came to dislike it pretty bad when I found out that while you can wire it to your existing doorbell wiring, it actually runs off a non-removable battery, so you need to periodically uninstall the whole unit for charging. So I returned it for a ring doorbell pro at twice the price. It actually does run off the power from your existing doorbell wiring and rings existing mechanical chimes. Only problem I had was while the original ring doorbell 2020 would connect to my ring chime pro network just fine, the doorbell pro would not. I had to connect it directly to my existing wifi, which luckily had enough strength to get to the doorbell pro without the chime pro extension network. Docked 1 star for not being able to connect at either 2.4 or 5 Ghz channels on the chime pro.

      Hi JZ63.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. At Ring, we understand it is essential to have your Ring Wired Doorbell Pro online and working properly so you can keep your home secure. Being able to rely on the alerts to know when activity is detected is an essential feature of the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. The Ring Chime (2nd Generation) is an updated version of the classic Ring Chime. Simply plug it in to a power outlet, set it up in the Ring app, and you'll be able to hear alerts from your Ring devices at home. We recommend setting up your Ring device (video doorbell or security camera) first, then setting up the Ring Chime. After the device and the Chime are active and on the wifi network, use the Ring app to associate the Ring Chime with the Ring device. Ring Chime connects to 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz wifi and can be paired to any number of Ring devices. You can also pair multiple Ring Chime units to one Ring video doorbell or security camera. Once connected, your Ring Chime will work anywhere it has a wifi connection.

If your Ring Chime is not connecting to your network, we recommend that you reset the device by pressing and holding the rest button on the side of the device for 20 seconds. Follow the steps in the Ring app to connect the device to your network. We have included those steps here:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (≡).
Tap "Devices" and select the doorbell or camera you'd like to reconnect to wifi.
      Tap the "Device Health" tile.
Under "Network," tap "Change Network" and follow the prompts in the app.
Allow some time for your device to fully reconnect to the network, then check your wifi signal strength in "Device Health" to confirm it has successfully reconnected.
