Disney's Robin Hood has a rare universal accessibility, still able to charm new viewers while time and time again reinvigorating the enthusiasm of those who hold the film as an old favorite. What it may lack in historical significance among the pantheon of animated classics Robin Hood makes up for in pure charm, through its lovable characters, irresistible songs, and warmly familiar adventure. This Blu-ray release is at times disappointing, its video neither fully reproducing a tangible, textured piece of artwork nor possessing the kind of perfectly sharp line work and smooth veneer of modern animation. Instead, the screen can take on a forced, smeared appearance; grain and imperfections are removed, but sometimes at the cost of robbing detail from the edges of the film's scratchy artistic styling. While undoubtedly the result of hard work from talented individuals, this visual presentation is not quite ideal. Nonetheless, such a fine movie in a respectable presentation deserves an easy recommendation!

I am not going to review the plot or aspects of the actual film as you can go to much better places for that online. You are wondering if its worth buying this edition, no? If you are starting a new Disney collection where you must have BluRay then this is certainly for you. Or if you are like me and think that the added bit of cost to future-proof your collection is worth buying the BR+DVD combo, then this is for you. However, if you could care less on which version you buy, then I would suggest just getting the DVD or finding an older DVD edition online that would save you money. There is not a whole lot of new extras or greatly enhanced film quality of this editions compared to other DVD quality ones.

Errol Who?! Kevin what now?! THIS is the story of Robin Hood. To heck with Lion King and Phhhh to Frozen. This is the golden age of Disney when the House of Mouse could get top named actors in their films and looked to classic literature for their inspiration. In this case they used furry animals to do it which made the film even MORE fun! I doubt Frozen would have worked with the leads being Polar Bears in todays society...... Get this film. Sit down with your children. Show them how we entertained ourselves WITHOUT smart phones......ooo de lah lee!!!

This film was done of course, in what I would call ‘Disney’s Off Years”. Not up to their usual standards, was not a huge hit. Could have been if improvements in script & characters. It is only a good film. Bringing Phil Harris as “Little John” & making “Little John” a bear just because of the success with 1967’s ‘The Jungle Book” “Baloo” character. ONLY a 1 disc version of the film. Some extras but nothing major. No Making Of or anything like that. NOTHING special like information on film inside. And, something I HATE in DVD packaging. THESE HORRIBLE CASES WITH THE LITTLE OPEN UP FLAPS!! THESE NEED TO BE DONE AWAY WITH!!

The value of the package is excellent. It's a great bluray transfer, and the addition of digital copy and DVD is icing on the cake. This just leaves the movie....which is, admittedly, a mixed bag. No, it is not one of Disney's best. Yes, they do reuse animation cells from previous movies, which gives the production a bit of a cheap feeling. However, for young children or nostalgic viewers, these issues are easily overlooked or ignored. I personally enjoy the film enough and find there is more than enough here to warrant the $9 asking price.

Robin Hood is the first Dismey film released after Walt Disney's death. So any issues one might have with the films story can attributed to the fact that they had to learn to make movies without Walt for the first time. Once that is understood the film is marvelous fun and a great introduction to the classic tale of Robin Hood. The Blu-Ray transfer can look very sketchy at times, but so does the animation. Special features also are not as plentiful as other Disney releases either. But overall definitely worth owning if this is one that you want in your collection.

Back in the day when Disney hand drew the animation and didn't churn out 10 movies a year including direct to video sequels (where's the quality control these days), they would do an animated movie every few years. I assume that's because it was much more of an undertaking then than it is now. This one slips under the radar when it comes to Disney Classics, but my kids enjoy it and I have to admit, the nostalgia factor is pretty high on this one. Must have watched it 100 times growing up (wore out the old VCR copy).

While often passed over for other AAA Disney titles, Robin Hood is a fun adventure that offers comedy, action, and romance. Unlike many animated films where they focus on one type of anthropomorphic animal, Robin Hood features a wide range of animals, which is one of the reasons I like it. Sir Hiss is especially hilarious. The blu-ray version is not as dramatic of an upgrade if you have the Most Wanted version, but if you still have the Gold collection (or VHS) or do not have this in your collection, buy the combo pack to get both Blu-ray and DVD

While not the pinacle of animation for the time, Robin Hood is a fun adventure that is sure to be remembered. Disney animation of this era is fascinating, though this disc is a bit lacking in bonus features, which is a shame. There are a couple of deleted storyboards and some sing along songs, though it might have been nice to have interviews with teh animators. The movie itself is wonderful and at a good price for Dvd/Bluray/Digital copy. You'll absolutely have fun with Robin Hood.

This movie had me laughing at soo many moments id say its definately one of the more comedic disney films but also has its share of serious and dramatic moments. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. The only thing i will say is there is alot of recycled animation from past disney movies in this one. Not to say its bad, but it is very noticeable. All in all though, very funny and enjoyable for families of all ages.

I’ve always loved this Disney version of Robin Hood! I had the original VHS and hav waited for not only a Blu-ray release but one that comes with the Digital Copy and this set checks both of those boxes for me. The DVD is obviously an older version as it has older movies for the pre-movie “coming soon” and “now in theaters” previews but doesn’t effect the movie at all. Great purchase for a great price. Only gripe would be wishing his came with a Slip-cover but that’s minor

This animated flick isn't as legendary as the material it is about - nor is it as legendary of a film as other Disney works from the era - but it is still a lot of fun. The songs aren't tremendously memorable but still nice little ditties. Even with a few bits of the material being slightly dark, it didn't bother my 3 and 8 year old sons in the least to watch it.

I have very fond memories of this movie nearly every day after school (along with the 1st Back to the Future film) with my late brother. It would be mac&cheese or sandwiches & ramen noodles every time! The classic animated take on Robin Hood is still my favorite over any entry animated or live. Still holds a special place in my heart that I now get to share with my 2 children, and that instantly gives me chills. Don't just watch it, own it.

I purchased this BLu-Ray having seen the movie many times on VHS and DVD as a kid. My daughter discovered Robin Hood while being baby sat at her grandmothers and it became an obsession. So the release of the Blu-Ray became a must buy. The upgrade in the image quality alone is worth the purchase if you are a fan of this classic tale. I know we as a family enjoy the movie and I recommend it to those looking for something fun and different then the standard princess fair.

I had 4 little sons who loved this movie. And now they are the fathers of sons- so this is a gift to bring as much delight to the next generation as well as a walk down memory lane! The older movie cartoons never age in terms of delight. I haven't rewatched it with today's newer values in mind, but maybe that's a good thing. Best Buy has an amazing price for this and store pickup, with an added discount, was so easy and painless.

If you are buying this it is probably because you watched it as a kid. Since it’s only the DVD version it’s safe to say you might not care much about Blu-Ray and/or a bunch of special features. More than likely you only had the VHS version and it’s finally out of the fault so you can get it on DVD! I’m not one to get into all the special features so this does exactly what I want, allows me to watch a movie I enjoyed in my youth, and be able to have my children do the same.

I loved this movie when I was a kid. Our version was a home recorded VHS tape though! Lol when I saw it was out, and so inexpensive for a Disney movie, I decided to go ahead and buy it for my son. We love the digital versions because we can just load up Vudu withought having to get out the DVD. No kids scratching up discs!

Went ahead with the blu-ray on this one, but I don't think it was necessary. Classic Disney movie about a fox, Robin Hood and... well, I think we all know the storyline, though this one is animated, and told through animal characters. Keeps the attention of the kids and made them laugh. Very nostalgic for me as this was one of my childhood favorites! I'd wanted to share with my young kids and have them enjoy it too.

My children watched this on VHS and loved it. So I had to purchase it for my four grandchildren who are moving to Atlanta from Dallas soon. They also have a DVD player in their "Mom Mobile" and love watching movies while traveling. This will be a great way to remember their grandmother as they watch it over and over.

I loved this movie so much when I was a kid, but never actually purchased it later in life. After my son became obsessed with Zootopia, I thought he would enjoy this movie as well (and I was right)! I love that it's not only offered at a great price, but includes the code for the digital copy so we can watch it on the road. If you don't already have this in your movie collection, what are you waiting for?
