This is the best vacuum robot and I love it. This robot is very smart and recognizes mkst obstacles well but it somtimes skips a little charging cables. Other than it, it is awesome.

My wife is extremly happy with how it performs. I am amazed by how hand off this device allows us to be. The floor is so clean all we need to do is maybe once a week manul cleanning for coners it cant reach.

I LOVE this all-in-one. Not having to fill the water tank or empty the bin every time is a game changer. I love the flexibility of the app, too. Highly recommend!

If you have mostly hardwood floors this is worth the extra money. It does a great job mopping and the app is much better than competitors.

After setting up the vacuum according to the instructions and letting it charge, I started it up for a mapping run. After a couple of minutes, it gives an error saying fan error and that I need to reset the vacuum. Not a good sign that these are defective right out of the box

I joined the Roborock owner’s club last year when I moved from a 1,000 square foot single story home to my multi-story 4,400 square foot home and purchased the Roborock S6 MaxV. If you’ve never owned a Roborock, what I love about these devices is that the replacement parts are readily available from 3rd-party vendors for very little money. I paid $20 for two years worth of replacement parts. So while the initial price of these can be a bit of sticker shock, but the long term maintenance costs are next to nothing. If you’ve never owned a robot vacuum, there are a few basics you need to understand. First is to understand that it’s not Rosie from The Jetsons so lower your expectations. If you think it’s going to eliminate 100% of your manual efforts to clean you’ve got another thing coming. I say it’s 90% which is awesome, but you’ll still need to do some manual cleaning. The robot can not climb stairs so don’t try it. For all it’s intelligence, it can still be pretty dumb if you don’t have the kind of floors/walls/furniture that it’s programmed to work well with. But having spent a week with the S7 MaxV compared with my current S6 MaxV, Roborock has made some game changing improvements. Let’s dive into a few of those. We will start with a simple one: my bar stools. I have some bar stools with metal legs that form a round circle at the base and it’s been coated to be very reflective. Almost like a mirror. The RoboRock S6 Max swears these legs don’t exist and tries to climb over the thing each time it cleans. It can’t make it and so it gets stuck on the stools and cries out for help until I manually pick it up and move it back to the carpeted floor it came from. The software included lets you build no-go zones and I do that for these stools but this was the first test for the S7 MaxV and I’m happy to report that the S7 MaxV properly stops before hitting the circular base and then moves around the stools without requiring a go-zone. Go RoboRock! A huge annoyance with the S6 MaxV and all the models below them is that the mopping attachment gets in the way of normal vacuuming and is better removed from the unit. Unless you like wet mopping carpet. This means you have to remember to go put it back on, and refill the water tank each time you decide it’s mopping time. Then you have to empty the water tank. You know - all the things you do manually anyway as part of a mopping job. What’s the point of having a robot vacuum if you still have to do all the mopping!? Well, if you’re like my friend (no pets, only hardware floors) you don’t need to mop all that often so it’s a minor inconvenience. If you’re like my family, our 17 year old lab sheds his 80 pounds of dog hair like its going out of style and he now slobbers all over the floors making mopping several times a day a must-do. The S7 MaxV solves this problem not only with it’s auto fill and auto-empty water tank, but now when the mopping attachment is left connected, the S7 MaxV includes “Dynamic Lift” which means the robot lifts the mopping module when it begins moving over carpets. But remember - it’s not The Jetson’s, so while the “Dynamic Lift” is a huge improvement, it only works with low pile carpets and mats. With the S6 MaxV I had to exclude my wife’s office because the S6 MaxV would scuff up the baseboards and her desk as it drove by. Thank god for Magic Eraser. With the S7 MaxV after a lot of begging she let me give it another go and I’m happy to say that the S7 MaxV does so much better at avoiding wall scuffing as it drives that it’s earned it’s right to clean her office back. There are tons of other minor improvements to the RoboRock app regarding pet avoidance, obstacle avoidance, cleaning patterns, I mean basically the entire software stack seems to have been improved between the S6 MaxV and the S7 MaxV making this a smarter robot than before. The marquee feature though has to be the new dock which is where the magic happens. Automatically emptying the dust bin, the dirty water, and refilling with clean water each time is such a welcome improvement. But the dock does have its downsides which is that it is HUGE and bulky, and the real annoyance is that it sounds like a jet engine when it’s cleaning the mop. In the week I’ve spent with the S7 MaxV I’ve done daily cleanings and only had to empty the dirty water tank once. That said, it smelled like a sewer coming out so brace your nostrils. Having spent a year with the S6 MaxV and cleaning out the dust bin after ever run, my mind was in shock over how well the auto-suction cleans out the dust bin of the S7 MaxV. Just don’t be in the room, or the room next to it, or the room next to that one when the cleaning cycle is complete. Unless you’re a pilot and the sound of a jet engine is something you love. Overall there are so many welcome improvements to the S7 MaxV I think it’s a giant leap forward in the Robot Vacuum industry… now Roborock just needs to create one that can handle stairs.
