Pros: Setting up the app and mapping was super easy. You can set routines for just vacuuming or mopping or both. The self-cleaning feature works great. Floors feel clean after use. Cons: The mini mopping arm "jammed", which stops the cleaning cycle. Took it apart, no jam. Researched lots of consumers struggling with the same issue. Will be returning today.

In the FAQ’s on this site, Roborock states you can get an extra 4 years extended warranty if purchased from Best Buy before 12/31/2024, just by contacting their customer service. This is no longer true. I called today and they say that promotion ended in May. Dont use that promotion as a factor in choosing this vacuum.

Amazing robot vaccum couldn’t have asked for a more intelligent robot , my wife is super happy .our house has a lot of rugs and wooden floor and this vaccum has never wet any carpet while it mops the floor .

Does a better job than the irobot j9. Doesn't scrub hard spots but happy with the performance.

Definitely not worth the price. Flexi arm does not work properly and leaves a ton of debris clean. Mopping and auto emptying functions help the convenience but for this price I would not recommend this device

This Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra completely blew me away. I’ve owned other robot vacuums before, but this one is on another level. The suction power is insane — it actually picks up the dust and hair you didn’t even know was there — and the mopping feature leaves the floors spotless. The new FlexiArm side brush really reaches corners better than any model I’ve seen, and the RockDock Ultra makes the whole process totally hands-free. It washes, dries, refills, and even cleans itself — all you have to do is empty it once in a while. The app is super smart and customizable, with precise mapping and different cleaning zones. I use it on hardwood and tile, and it handles both perfectly without leaving streaks. It’s quiet, efficient, and looks premium in person. I’ve had it for a while now and every time it runs, I’m impressed by how clean everything looks after. If you want a robot vacuum that actually does the job and saves you time every single day, this is the one. Roborock absolutely nailed it!

I upgraded from the prior model (S8 Pro Ultra) to the MaxV Ultra for the improved object recognition, and better cleaning. I think the S8 Pro Ultra makes for a much better deal, especially when it's on sale. It's almost as good in every way, and costs notably less. However if you want the best from Roborock, the MaxV Ultra is the way to go. Things I like: 1) Navigation is fast and efficient. The s8 MaxV can map about 2800 square feet in about 25 minutes in mapping mode. 2) Cleaning for both vacuuming and mopping are very good. The vibrating mop pads do work for general surface dirt and grime. It picks up pet hair and cat litter with no difficulty. 3) Object detection in general is very good, and it successfully avoids a lot of the objects that get left around the house by my kids. Things my old i7 Roomba would run over, the MaxV avoids. I rarely have to babysit this machine, and I expect further improvements with firmware updates over time. 4) The docking & self cleaning are improved over the S8 Pro Ultra. The unit can now wash the mop, empty the vacuum, and dry the mop without having to change orientation. The prior model was not capable of this. I also find the dust bin emptying to be slightly quieter compared to the prior model. What I dislike 1) Unit can still get stuck on objects it's not trained on. I would expect a product at this price point to be able to recognize a pen/pencil on the floor, or a sheet of paper. 2) Battery life seems slightly worse than the S8 Pro Ultra. This is probably do to the improved suction and increased vibration in the mop pad, in addition to the RGB camera + LED light. 3) Edge mopping is okay, but I don't find it to be practical at this time. The unit will not run along the edges of rugs or carpet unless they are along a wall / boundary in the house. I was hoping the navigation algorithm would identify things like rugs in my home and use the edge cleaning mop pad to clean right up next to them. Instead the mop pad is generally lifted around 1-2" away from rugs and no special consideration is given to them. Edge cleaning is only useful for walls / boundaries in the home. 4) At this time, if you buy the model with voice assistance you will not be able to customize the names of the rooms in your house outside of the premade ones from Roborock (without going through some tricky to find settings). On the prior model without voice assistance you could name each room in your map from the map itself.

Swip around good but not perfect. Mop almost perfect but really stain on wood you should run a few times. On deep mop water finish fast. You should be maintain each time. Add water. But on market this is best one. On wood almost perfect works. App is amazing. 2D. 3D. And matrix map so cool. Detection . Scan room. Cable. Furniture. Tv stand. Everything. Shoes. Slipper. Perfectly detected. If dust is really big sometimes not vacuum. But 2nd vacuum it is sucked. Noise is good. Even on high speed. Deep clean. Noise is fine. Not annoying. On highest 100 this robot deserve 80-90. Not perfect. But really above the good. Middle between good and perfect. I love it.

As a dad with three kids and four pets, you can imagine the chaos and mess at our place. I've gone through quite a few vacuums, both regular and robotic, and I thought I’d seen it all. That was until I got the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. Man, this thing is a game changer! First off, it does everything. Seriously, it vacuums, it mops, and it does both like a champ. The best part for me is the detergent dispenser. I used to hate refilling the mop on my old vacuums, but this one handles it all. It’s also got these redesigned water tanks and a dust bag that make maintenance a breeze. The dock is pretty neat too—it washes and dries the mop pad, so there's no funky smell afterwards. And it’s quiet! I can let it run while the kids are asleep, or even while I’m on a call, and it doesn’t bother anyone. Now, the smart features on this thing are top-notch. It doesn’t bump into furniture or get stuck on kids’ toys and pet stuff lying around. It’s like it knows where it’s going, thanks to some really cool room mapping tech. I got every room mapped out in no time, and it even shows me where it’s cleaned and where it hasn’t. And the cleaning itself? Phenomenal. We’re talking about it picking up everything from cat hair to cookie crumbs. Plus, the mop keeps itself clean, which is great because who has time to wash a mop every day? Setup was super simple too. I had it out of the box and running in minutes, and the app made it easy to get everything scheduled. Now I come home to clean floors every day without lifting a finger. All in all, if you’re looking for something to take some of the cleaning load off your shoulders, especially in a busy house like mine, this Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is worth every penny. It’s my new best friend in the fight against mess. Highly recommend for any parent out there who just wants a break from the daily grind!

I bought this vacuum to replace an old Roomba that would get itself stuck against the couch 6 out of 7 days a week, which meant it almost never finished an actual cleaning cycle. Overall I like the Roborock vacuum but it's not perfect. I'd recommend it to people that don't have pets that roam around the house. Positives: 1. With the lidar and cameras it is efficient in its cleaning of the floor and navigating. 2. Having QR codes on different components to help locate replacements is great. I very much support right to repair. 3. Overall quality of the cleaning when it doesn't get clogged is good. 4. Love the overall functionality of the dock, the cleaning and drying of the mop, clean and dirty water tanks being easy to refill/empty, automated cleaning solution dispenser and the auto-empty function when it or the vacuum don't get clogged. 5. That it will generally be able to identify the rabbits and not run into them. Negatives: 1. The vacuum dust bin gets clogged very easily. The connection between where the brushes pick up stuff and go into the dust bin is very narrow. I have rabbits that free roam the house and the paper bedding from the cage seems to easily clog it up. 2. There is no sensor or recognition by the vacuum when it is clogged so it continues to "clean" and spreads the debris all around. Even my old Roomba was able to identify when it was clogged and stop, which was quite rare. 3. About once a month I get a brush tangled/jammed error. Nothing is ever actually causing a problem, I just have to take the brushes out and put them back in. 4. The auto empty function is great until it gets clogged by a mix of fur, bedding and the occasional piece of hay. 5. Where is Matter compatibility? Overall: It does a good job at what it is supposed to do but if you have pets keep an eye out for it leaving trails of debris around to identify that it is clogged. I went with this partially because it was supposed to have Apple Home functionality through Matter which is still MIA and the functionality of the dock, so I'm at least 50/50 right now. If I were in the market for another robot vacuum I would consider Roborock again but would want to check out the overall build of the vacuum. I would also look at other brands to see if I think they would function better for my circumstances.

Roborock has set a gold standard in robot vacuums, and I highly recommend the brand to anyone looking for a top-tier cleaning experience. Either way, investing in a Roborock is worth every penny.

So we have had a roomba for years and it gets the job done but never really been amazed at it. Still needed to mop and it would get stuck in random spots. Flash forward to 2025 and these new robots are amazing. The censors on this thing combined with the on board camera means it almost never gets stuck under a chair, in a closet or wrapped up in cords. We have puppy pad holders, dog bowl holders, rugs and small runners that other machines would get stuck in but this thing just navigates them all like a champ. The mopping function is a little weird, the thing vibrates and I seriously thought it was a gimmick, but holy cow the dirty water that comes out of this thing is disgusting. Like how were our floors that bad and how did our other cleaning tools miss it? Weve had it for like a month, and its amazing. Yes its expensive and yes you dont need it, but to be able to come home everyday to a clean floor is great. 5 stars, amazing!

I absolutely love this robot! It keeps up with our three husky household and is the first vac I’ve had that does a good job mopping. My tile has never looked better! It’s smart sensing also is a great feature, avoiding obstacles in a busy household.

We have used the vacuum for a couple weeks now. It seems to be a good vacuum. The floors are clean after it vacuums and mops. It does have a little bit of difficult avoiding some of the animal toys, but other than that it does a good job. Once object is removed it picks ip right where it left off. I would recommend to someone looking for a robot vacuum. I havent used the search feature to drive the robot to find a pet but I might try it soon to see how it works.
