ROCCAT - Kain 120 AIMO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse - does exactly what it is set out to do. Not only does the mouse have a comfortable grip, but it is also lightweight, and very responsive. During gameplay, the ROCCAT KAIN was able to perform well with fast target shooting. As you set out to aim at your targets, the ROCCAT KAIN has the ability to anticipate your every move. Excellent speed and accuracy. One of the best gaming mouses I have owned. PROS: Great Speed High Quality Optical Owl-Eye Sensor Comfortable Grip and Lightweight Illuminating lights for use in dark and dim rooms (Love the Aimo Intelligent Lighting) CONS: None.

The ROCCAT KAIN 120 AIMO Wired Optical gaming mouse has a real great feel for games or general computing. It has an interesting but cool, AIMO light changing system. With its long wired chord, there are really no limitations moving the mouse and no need to worry about changing batteries. The fit of the ROCCAT KAIN 120 Optical Mouse was very comfortable for all day use. • DPI settings button on top of mouse rotate through different maneuvering speeds. I preferred the 3 setting to be most comfortable for me. The cursor moved fast with a slight move of my hand, which saves me from wear and tear on my wrist. • The Scroll Wheel has a real feel of some quality to it, making it lock into place better than I am used to with my old mouse. This is especially nice when going or down a page of the web or scrolling through a game. • The slightly sloped right side of the mouse makes moving more comfortable than a regular ambidextrous mouse. The shape also aids in clicking the different buttons on the mouse top, front end and left side. • AMIO lighting on the mouse rotate between the scroll wheel and the back end ROCCAT symbol. It provides a nice platform of light that is spectacular when using the mouse in low light or even bright environments. It flows in 16.8 million colors of RGB lighting that synced with the AMIO features on my computer. • The 16K DPI Owl-Eye sensor is highly sensitive when moving the mouse pointer on the screen. This is great for gaming and activities on the computer when you need that kind of accuracy. I enjoyed this feature a lot playing some games (FOE, Dota 2, Everspace). When I needed to hit targets or avoid clicking on an object the Owl-Eye sensor performed well. • The bottom of the mouse has two rubber platforms (one on the front and one on the back) that the also aid in moving around the mouse under your hand. The mouse moves smooth and the rubber pads also keep the Owl-Eye sensor free of dust or very small debris. • The Titan click mechanism works better than any “normal” mouse that I have tried. The specially made Titan click buttons, adds a fast responsive touch to the mouse. The Titan click buttons also add durability for the advance of the lifetime clicks. • The “swarm” software can be found on the Roccat.com website. The software is there to help you set up or configure your mouse to your specification. With only a couple clicks of the DPI button, I matched the speed of the cursor. I liked how the ROCCAT KAIN 120 worked right out of the box. The mouse didn’t feel rubberized or have extra grip (it is supposed to have coating of some sort), but rather was just comfortable. The mouse didn’t slip off my hand, I feel, because of the ergonomic shape. It works very well to track items or movement on screen with the Owl-Eye sensor and smooth bottom surface. The buttons are quick and punchy to click thanks to the Titan Click integration, giving an appropriate feel of sturdiness. Overall the ROCCAT KAIN 120 AIMO Wired Optical mouse is made for comfort and performance.

LIGHT LITE and PRECISE REVIEW: ROCCAT - Kain 120 AIMO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse - Black BEST BUY Tech Insider Network SUMMARY: This mouse works great for graphics as well as gaming. I was worried at first because it is so lightweight compared to many other premium gaming mice. It handles really well and very precise for graphics. UNBOXING: INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Very well packaged, maybe a little less packaging would be nice given today’s minimalistic trends. EASE OF USE: Windows 10 recognized the mouse immediately and no extra installation was needed. Worked great in my graphics applications and games. SUMMARY: Fast precise mouse, highly recommend.

Roccat has done a nice job designing this Kain 120 AIMO mouse. It is comfortable to use for extended periods of time with a nicely rounded shape and easily accessible buttons. The mouse has a hybrid anti-wear coating which provides a nice grip while being dirt-resistant. I like the flex cable which facilitates mouse use and no batteries to replace. Omron switches are stated to provide a virtually unlimited 50 million click lifecycle. The mouse moves smoothly with a 16,000DPI optical Owl-Eye sensor and Roccat's patented button mechanism provides an effortless, responsive clicking action. The mouse wheel has a nice grip texture to it and rolls easily in response. One can download the Roccat Swarm software to modify the AIMO intelligent lighting system, customize button assignment, modify a multitude of mouse settings or create up to five customized game profiles. AIMO lighting with 16.8M color is aesthetically impressive and a cool way to accentuate the Roccat logo on the palm portion of the mouse. The Roccat Kain mouse met my needs for a comfortable, responsive and aesthetically pleasing mouse for everyday and gaming use. The build quality is impressive and the feel and design of the mouse makes extended use quite easy.

Great if you don't have sweaty palms

To start this review, I like this mouse. It is apparent that ROCCAT put a lot of effort into making sure the mechanics of this mouse were flawless. I did a side-by-side comparison of this mouse with my Razer Basilisk while doing everyday computer and internet browsing tasks and playing one of my favorite FPS's, Doom 2016. This was not a perfect comparison as the Razer Basilisk is more of a "claw" grip mouse where as the ROCCAT Kain 120 is more of a "palm" grip. The ROCCAT is plug and play. Even without the ROCCAT software suite, the mouse started up perfectly when plugged in and accepted all of the mouse button mapping in Doom that I had in the settings. Additionally, the DPI button worked right off the get go and I was able to choose between its settings a good DPI settings for my needs. As for the actual mechanics of the mouse, the clicks of all of the buttons are great; highly responsive during the frenetic gunplay that Doom has to offer. As for the feel, this will be highly subjective based on anatomy and different users' preferences, but the fill of the mouse in the palm of my medium/large hands felt great. The tracking is great too. I used it on my Razer Goliathus mousepad and on the wood of my desk with no troubles tracking. Just don't forget to remove the blue protective tape on the sliding surfaces on the bottoms of the mouse. The only thing I have to ding a star off this mouse for is that there is no grip texturing or rubberizing whatsoever on any surface of the mouse. For gamers with sweaty palms, this will present an issue as it is going to slip around in your hand much more easily than a mouse like the Basilisk that has texturing and rubber built onto gripping surfaces to enhance the feel and grip. Overall, I think that this mouse is a great option for anyone looking for a plug and play gaming mouse, but the grip could use work for future iterations.

    Good Gaming Mouse

I bought this mouse as a an alternative to my current gaming mouse that I can take with me when I travel and want to game on my gaming laptop. What I like about it: The mouse feels consistent in terms of moving without it stuttering. The two side buttons are a nice addition, not having so many side buttons is good. Could have 2 more and it wouldn’t be too cluttered. I really like mice with DPI changing abilities and the ones on this mouse are good and well-spaced. I like the design of the mouse, the shape and size feel good in my hand, and the logo is stylish. What I don’t like about it: I don’t like the weight of the mouse, the only reason being that I am much more used to lighter mice and using an even slightly heavier one was odd. The only other thing I dislike about it is that the scroll wheel doesn’t move as easily as I would like. All in all it's a good gaming mouse. Not my favorite of the now two that I have, but it has some nice features and a quality build.

pretty good mouse, i hate a dpi switch but its whatever. tracks good, weight is good, good for big hands i got some big hands im like 6'1. sliders arent that grippy i use a steelseries qck mousepad struggle to stop on a flick. started to double click within 2 months of owning, and then also the scrollwheel will sometimes scroll up or down when you are scrolling a direction (for example i bind smoke grenade to mouse wheel down in a game, it will pull out the wrong grenade when i scroll, pulling out my grenade for mouse wheel up) other than that good mouse, software is nice and easy to use and a lot of customization

I use the Roccat Kain 200 as my main mouse and I bought the Kain 120 for my 2nd gaming rig. It is identical to the Kain 200, but without the wireless capability. Titan Clicks are the best in my opinion. They register clicks quickly and with excellent accuracy. The Kain 120 glides effortlessly across the mouse pad and with the light weight it is perfect for FPS. The speed and precise Owl Eye sensor is amazing. Roccat has a new design for the outer shell of the mouse that makes it very comfortable for all kinds of grip styles. Setup the mouse and the AIMO color palette, along with the DPI settings in the Swarm software and you are set. There is a DPI button behind the front left/right click buttons that allow you to switch your DPI on the fly. The cord is well crafted to last, and flexibility is great. I believe the overall design of the Kain series is amazing and will be comfortable for most hands. Roccat continues to produce excellent products that won’t break the bank.

This specific Roccat mouse is not working for me as I have carpal tunnel syndrome. In my opinion it would be a great mouse for someone who has bigger hands, and no health issues. In general I am happy with Roccat products and I was disappointed that I could not use this specific gaming mouse.

I was looking to upgrade my mouse so I could play certain video games that required the extra mouse buttons. Am happy with my purchase. The Kain is a larger mouse so it is something to keep in mind and maybe try out to see how you like the grip and location of the buttons. I was replacing a working Roccat LUA mouse so wanted to stick with the brand and get the additional RGB lighting to match with my set up. Definitely happy with my purchase.

This mouse performs flawlessly and is very comfortable to hold and use. It is coated with a grippy but smooth surface. It also provides quality mouse clicks and tracking. My first Roccat mouse lasted me 7 years of solid use before it felt sticky to the touch, so another Roccat mouse was the best choice for me.
