Out of the box, these Roccats sounded great! My first run was using them for work while @ home, taking phone calls through Skype. My coworkers immediately noticed how clear my voice was (at work, they gave us the standard issue chat headset). Likewise, I was able to notice an immediate difference in dialog while I sat through meetings. After work was over, I decided to plug them into my personal gaming rig. I immediately thought about what software downloads may be available for these, and yes, there is “Roccat Neon” software, which will allow you to tune these headphones for your particular scenario. After configuring the 3D audio to Movie, I switched over to watching Loki Episode 4 and was immediately immersed. It does sound a whole lot better versus its Default setting. It does emphasize dialog and any frequencies in the upper range. I didn’t really get a sense of 3D audio, but it sure did sound amazing. I decided to try some music after. I configured 3D audio to Music. I’d say most would enjoy listening in this setting, especially if it’s recorded live. It does sound like a bit of reverb to simulate the 3D feel. Kinda like someone was singing in the somewhat echoey restroom. Still sounded dang good, especially when the bass drum hits, but for me it wasn’t my cup of tea as I prefer listening to the original track as it was recorded in the studio. There is EQ that you can customize if you have a preference in frequencies. Overall, I was still very happy listening to music with these on. Finally, I played a few games (COD BOCW, Halo MCC, SOTTR). In the Neon software, there is a “Superhuman Hearing” setting which will allow you emphasize footsteps and gunshots. Dang, it sure does. You can also activate 3D audio to Game if that works for you, but there is another mode called Game Spatializer which is another form of 3D audio specific to gaming?? You can’t have both 3D audio and Game Spatializer on. 3D audio set to Game just felt brighter overall, but the Game Spatializer actually felt more 3D. Finally, there is RGB on the headphones. Looking at the Neon software, it looks like you can’t sync to anything else outside of Roccat, but that seems true for most brands anyway. But the only mode you can set on these are Color Wave, or something called AIMO (Intelligent Lighting System). Pretty sure they’ll be updating this down the road. Overall, they’re comfy, simple to use outside of the software (only have On/Off, master volume and mic monitoring volume). Charging is done via USB-C and they provide the cable, but charging will be less frequent because they can hold a charge. They are wireless if you didn’t know already, and they had no problems keeping a solid connection. If you have a dedicated mic, you can remove the boom and cap the hole. If you choose to use the boom mic, know that it has an awesome feature to mute the mic when the boom is positioned vertical. I did it many times to mute myself during my work meetings. I’d say they’re pretty versatile overall, and with more software/driver updates, they will continue to get better. Cons? I did feel that the screen that protects the 50mm drivers felt like I could accidentally pierce it with my finger if I held it the wrong way. I'm mindful now to grab elsewhere when I pick these up. Pricewise, there are a lot of offerings for headphones. If you already own Roccat peripherals, then this would probably be a no-brainer, but for the rest of us, it’s definitely not a bad buy, especially with its versatility, which surprised me. I’ll probably find myself listening to music and watching movies on these more than anything, which isn’t a bad thing either.

The Roccat Syn pro Air is a very nicely built modern headset. Once you take it out of the box you will notice they have a little weight to it but honestly doesn’t bother once you have it over the head. The foam pads feel soft and they make a nice seal to keep outside noise to minimum. It feels like you have on noise canceling. The mic is detachable which is good if you want to use them for music listening. Setting them up was very easy, just needed to plug in the included wireless USB-A transmitter or USB-C using the included adapter. When you power the headset it will connect automatically. The sound quality was actually impressive, the game sounds were clear and immersive, and for the multiplayer people were able to hear me very clearly. The bass on these headphones were pretty deep. I liked that even when listening to music they sounded good. I like the fact that when you position the microphone to the upward position it actually turns it off, you will hear a sound when it does that. On the left earcup you’ll have a volume controller which works beautifully. On the right side there's a mic variable control but honestly I played with it and no one could tell the difference. To charge them is what I found a little weird. It seems you need to plug them to the PC to be charged. I used two different types of USC-B fast charger and it did not work. Then I connected it to a strip that has USB sockets and it worked, that was strange. Oh these headsets will work with your USB-C Android phones. I plugged in the transmitter using the adapter and it worked, so you can also game on your phone using these. You can make phone calls as well or just use them as headphones, that's awesome. The RGB lights are pretty nice. They look exactly like the mouse I have from Roccat, too bad you cannot turn them off to conserve battery or change the colors to your preference using an app like the mouse. Besides all the good there’s a few cons in my opinion. They are nicely built but they are too wide so they are big for me. People with small heads will have problems with these. Also they are kind of flimsy especially if you grab them by the side and not the center. These will not work on consoles at least not on the Xbox X I wished it did. I would have also preferred for them to use Bluetooth instead of the proprietary wireless connection. Battery life is rated for 24hrs according to the manufacturer. I have been using them for a few days but there’s no way to say how much battery is left but they are still going. Overall these headsets do the job extremely well they feel nice and have outstanding sound. In the box you get the headset, charging cable, USB-A transmitter, USB-C adapter, and manuals.

Out of the gate, I like the look and feel of the padding on the ear cups—it's an athetlic fabric with memory foam designed for comfortability. It fits really well and is comfortable, and my ears don't get hot. I will say that if you hang this headset, gravity will always pull the cups down, and you'll need to readjust every time. There's some freedom in how the cups can rotate, so it's free of rigidity when there are drastic head movements. I wish this headset was equipped with a self-adjusting band instead of a solid one. It's kind of odd that Roccat reverted back to a standard headband, but at least it's got foam on it for some comfort. The exterior is a fine matte finish that appears solid until RGB shines through. The honeycomb design is welcoming, as it's both aesthetic and ergonomical. As far as the detachable flip-to-mute mic, I like it, but at the same time I don't. On one hand, it's great that I don't need the microphone in my face all the time. However, when you do get the mic out of your face, the movement of it feels rigid. It has two snapping points to mute it, too. It's unnecessarily snappy, and you can hear and feel when you move the mic up and down. I'm not kidding when I say it jars the whole headset. As for the microphone quality, it seems standard—nothing to boast about. I listened to mic audio through two different devices and couldn't tell them apart. Starting with the Syn Pro Air, Roccat has switched to a new application called Neon. I'm not going to review Neon, but it's important to mention it as it unlocks features for the headset, including lighting and sound settings. AIMO illumination is great as always and is preferable over other settings. I love how organic the light colors transition. Neon does not report an accurate battery status in my opinion. I've only seen 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10%. It stayed at 75% for the longest time, and within a few hours went from 75% to 10%. Roccat claims it has a 24-hour battery life, but I don't think the average gamer will see that. I want to mention that initially the Syn Pro Air would take several seconds to connect, but a recent update seems to have fixed that. The 50mm Nanoclear drivers provide a much crisper, clearer sound environment when both 3D audio and your spatial sound of choice is turned on. While it's not necessary for all applications, I find myself enjoying listening to music with it. You won't get as much use out of this if the application doesn't have 3D audio built in (there aren't many); you'll get more of a simple virtual surround sound. But this is true for any audio device. While I do enjoy RGB and there's such a thing as overkill, I'm not sure what I think of the lights on this. It's subtle, but I was expecting more. If you compare stock images, you may not get what they show you. Instead just a small sliver of the entire cup exterior is translucent for me. It's a little disappointing. Please look at the photos provided and compare them to other reviews here. I asked Roccat about this and they didn't really have much to say other than they don't believe there are any variations. They seem to vary on how much of the cup exterior is translucent. Overall, the sound that comes out of this is good quality for the price. I fully expect to continue using the Syn Pro Air. All this said, I was let down by it. I expected so much more, and I didn't get it. The flip-to-mute isn't as smooth as it should be; the RGB is too subtle; there's no self-adjusting headband when this headset deserves it. Some things just seemed overlooked. Again, good headset, but perhaps the next edition will have all this and more. I wouldn't say that you should avoid the Syn Pro Air, but definitely consider other options before you make a purchase.

I've owned a few gaming headsets, and they don't always just work out of the box. This one did, and I was able to turn on Windows Sonic without any fuss. I did eventually download the ROCCAT Neon app, which updated the drivers on my machine, as well as the firmware for the dongle and the headset itself, and I was delighted to discover that the software doesn't make a nuisance of itself. You can view the battery status of the headset in the software and activate a variety of 3D audio profiles/spatializers, as well as interesting functions like "superhuman hearing", which is designed to amplify noise below a certain threshold. This seems to work pretty well, but I'm not sure if it's for me. The software can also detect and adjust the volume of dialogue in game, if you're playing a game where it's too quiet or loud. Apart from that, there's also a fully adjustable 10 band equalizer, in case fine tuning is your jam. And of course, you can customize the RGB lighting. Being a Turtle Beach powered headset, it's got some quality drivers behind it, and it sounds great, with no static or distortion, even at high volume. I know it's mostly a gaming headset, but I was very surprised at how good the music 3D audio profile sounds, with a little EQ adjustment. I don't normally go in for that sort of thing, but it sounds really good here. The microphone is stiff but bendable, and flips up out of the way, which also mutes it. You can flip it up a bit further if you want to remove it completely. It's not difficult to remove but there's enough resistance that you're not going to accidentally do it. It picks up my voice clearly and a couple of my teammates noted an improvement over my usual headset. It charges via USB-C, which is nice, and I've been using it for a few days without needing to charge it. I also tested it with my PS5, and it works out of the box. I connected the receiver and all of the 3D audio options in the system settings immediately enabled. It's also just comfortable to use. I've had it on my head for extended periods of time without it getting uncomfortable. It sits firmly without feeling tight, and can easily accommodate those with larger heads. I assume the material is fairly breathable because my ears never seem to get hot. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality wireless headset.

Very comfortable if you've got a big head! Ive had almost every brand there is for headsets, was worried about not hearing much about this brand. Its got great sound, bass is better than the treble, might just be how i have it setup though. I do wish i could have better control of the volume. On my pc its turned nearly all the way down and is plenty loud, i can barely hear my teammates though. The SWARM app on pc does help with that though. Mic is more sensitive than id like, but that's only really when ppl in the house are being loud. I would definitely buy it again.

Good headset, however there is a feint background static that you will hear if you are not listening to something. Also you need to download some firmware to use the headphones properly, specifically something called ROCCAT Swarm. Mic is decent, audio is decent, well priced and wireless.

Was looking for a new headset after my kids broke my Logitech G933 Snow Artemis. These were in sale and the sound quality exceeded my expectations for the price point. They’re light weight, decently built, and provide enough sound for gaming and music. The attached microphone doesn’t sound terrible. The battery life has held strong. I forget it needs to be charged until it beeps at me and I can charge them while still in use.

I am use to razer headphones but figured i try a new brand. It is nice when it works. at 10 ft you get plenty of static. there is no real EQ settings. Razer I could go about 50 ft before losing signal. As far as video gaming goes, it does have nice bass for it and doesn't make ears sweat on raid days. It lights up but software is VERY limited. Once issue I have is the mic is looping, so if you talk even when no programs are open you will hear yourself if you are loud enough. It is annoying at times. Right now I am trying to listen to music and it is all choppy at 8 ft away. The highlight is that the doodle does work with usb 3.0 cable extension. which is a huge thing vs razer. So at least if you have static issue you can just get a extender cable. If this company does improve on their software I think it would be better than razer by a long shot. Works great on Windows 11, Windows 10. Tested on both and works with no issues. Have not tried a USB hub yet.

I will start off with clarifying the title. NOTHING PHYSICALLY WENT WRONG. The only "downside" is the software that the headset is supported by to fine-tune the equalizer/sound. The headset itself was amazing and I recommend it to someone starting out with using ROCCAT. I even have 2 of their own products, the VULCAN 122 keyboard and the Burst Air mouse and love them both. The only reason I returned it and gave 4 stars was the software being buggy and messing up the headset at times. I may get it back once they improve the software itself, other then that it sounds amazing and the mic was wonderful as well.

I'm probably not the best person to review this item. I am using it for work from home customer service calls. It met my requirements for wireless headphones for a work pc that will not accept Bluetooth devices and will not allow installation of any software. Doesn't fit my head that well but okay for sitting at my desk. Sound quality is good.

This is a really good sounding headset with lots of options for customization in the software, and a noise gate. My friends tell me they can't pick up any background noise whatsoever when we're playing. It's surprisingly comfortable and fits over my average sized well. The RGB is a bit dull and lacking and ultimately pointless since you can't even see it while wearing them.

Bought the headphone for my 7 year old son for his birthday, and he loves it. Great for daily use for homework and gaming alike. Not sure if it's noise canceling, but the sound can be heard externally from the headphones. Maybe it's just my son maximizing the volume. Also, the detachable microphone component seems a bit flimsy, or maybe it's meant to be malleable. As for the quality of the microphone, I would not be able to comment as I have not used it. Overall, for the price I had purchased it, I feel it was a smart purchase.
