Much improved instruments with a familiar game...

The guitar feels like overall better quality and the game has been tweaked in mostly positive ways. The track store has a way to go but they work on it every week. Rock Band continues to be the best party game ever and never really gets old. Time to upgrade.

Overall gameplay hasn't changed significantly, but has been updated. The new controller had issues where it would disconnect momentarily but seems to be mostly resolved with a firmware update to the guitar which requires a bluetooth compatible PC, I bought a USB adapter to do it. The included music selection is decent with some hits and some misses. There is a ton of downloadable music for a premium though, about $2 each song. I do wish there were more discount packs available so building a big library wouldn't be crazy expensive.

I owned RB2 and RB3 on the ps3, and purchased many songs along the way. When I learned you could roll over the purchased songs, as well as import RB1 and RB3 songs into the game, it really was a no brainer. I did purchase the bundle of this game with the new guitar, and I must say they improved the quality from the RB2 guitars. Those stupid dongles are gone now, and the guitar itself is lighter. I have been very happy with the game.

This is so much fun to play, easy to set up and use. Definitely need to calibrate to your tv though or your scoring will be off. Only complaint is that the extra songs are kind of expensive and you cannot cross platform. You also can only use previously owned songs of you had them save to your PlayStation account previously it won't play them off from PS3 discs.

Rock band 4 doesn't disappoint. If you love the other games don't miss out on this one. My only gripe with the game is that not all the dlc exported over right away. Harmonix is working on it but it was disappointing to not be able to play my old song right out of the box. The new guitar is great too!

The game is very familiar, but still very fun. The new solo mode brings a fresh and much needed entry to the series. My only knack so far is the lineup of stock tracks. They could have packed the game with much more music from the get go. I'm not a fan of the pay to play system, which is a plague with modern video games. Overall the game is good, and fun to play.

Much the same as previous Rock Band games, my old guitar quit working so I was glad to be able to purchase just the guitar as I love it. I haven't been able to figure out how to import previously purchased songs, but I understand that I should be able to.

We purchased this for my son's birthday and we have had a blast with it so far. They added new elements to the game itself and the quality of the guitar is much better than they used to be. I also love the fact that we were able to bring all the rockband songs we used t have over to the new one.

Rock Band for a new generation

Rock Band makes its triumphant return on the latest generation of consoles. At the core, Rock Band 4 is the same as the previous version where you can play a wide variety of music and have a great experience. However, Rock Band 4 feels like it is not a complete package compared to Rock Band 3 on the previous generation of consoles with it missing a more in depth character customization, improved band creation and management. and a better way to filter the list of songs. It is great that you can download all of the previous DLC tracks and play them in Rock Band 4 but the process of doing that is very long and tedious. If you want to re-live that Rock Band party experience on PS4 and Xbox One then Rock Band 4 is highly recommended.

Fun Game, Needs More, Better Songs

I was really excited to hear that a new Rock Band was being released, and even more excited to hear that they supported all of the old instruments and songs. Unfortunately, though, they don't fully support the songs from previous games yet, but they do support (most of) the songs that were bought in addition to the previous games. Apparently they're working on that now. Until then, it's still a fun game, but more songs from the old games would improve it a lot.

Reviews stated it was completely compatible with the PS4. It needs all kinds of updates and connections to work with the PS4, but otherwise, works fine. Game has all kinds of new songs!!

If you have previously owned this game and enjoyed it, you will love this new addition just as much. There are a few odd ball things that need updated, but once those are fixed, this will be another excellent addition to this game!

This is a fun game. The guitar works well. My only issue with the game is that it feels exactly the same as the previous Rock Bands. Similar graphics as well.

Not groundbreaking but great for Rock Band fans

As a previous Rock Band fan, this game is a great incremental upgrade that brings the experience to the current generation of consoles. The biggest benefit is being able to take your existing music library from last generation and import it into the current game. You get an instant massive library if you had already spent a ton of money last generation. The old instruments also work too. I think because of wanting to ensure all this backwards compatibility, it limited Harmonix with how much they could innovate (for example, what Guitar Hero did), but I think most people did not want to lose their songs. The result is a game that doesn't really innovate but is still the fun Rock Band experience you expect on today's hardware.

The controller, even more than in the past, feel great. The game feels a little lacking in singleplayer content and if you don't buy any DLC or import from a previous game, the soundtrack is a little lackluster too. I also don't care for the new Solo stuff they put in which feels bad and looks stupid. The updates to graphics and into the PS4 is smooth and there's a lot of nice online features. I hope it continues to be supported despite the apparently disappointing sales.

Terrible Tracklist. Only fun when buying additional songs you like. Comes with a old somewhat upgraded guitar controller. Gameplay is amazing but kind of said they still have cartoons on nextgen, when Guitar Hero is going more realistic this time around. I recommend this product if you don't mind buying addiontal songs or you prefer the old guitar scheme.

After trying out Guitar hero Lives new guitar I'd much rather stick to the familiar buttons. The pre loaded song selection is better on Rock band but the downside is it's 2 bucks to upload new songs. I think this is a better game overall for entertaining and involving everyone of all ages even if you just get the mic to add to the guitar.
