They improved the hardware. Up until this sequel, I had to manually calibrate the the video and audio timing. Now, it's close enough that everyone in the band is happy. The only issue I have so far is not being able to access many of the older Rock Band songs that was in my Rock Band 3 library. Hope they will allow us access later on. I still wish They would allow multiple guitars or bass.

Guitar is great, when it is working. We had to return this product after only two uses because it would connect to the gaming system, but not sync to the game (buttons stopped working). Best Buy customer service explained that the hard drives on wireless devices have more problems than non-wireless devices.

I personally got this on sale rather cheap at Best Buy primarily for the guitar. I had the original Rock Band guitar and the ole lady was still functional but not very functional. The new guitar is light years better than the original. The game is still pretty fun too. The addition of free style guitar sections was very nice.

Lots of fun, a natural evolution of Rock Band 3 from the PS3, and all your DLC songs move over too!

    Solid But Store Is Frustrating

Just as solid as ever. One of my biggest gripes with rockband has always been the calibration feature. To me it never seemed to get things quite right. But then again that was when the technology was fairly new, and HDMI wasn't as prevalent when RB1 first came out. This time around I see a drastic difference, and finally makes the game be played the way it should. My only two gripes with the title (And it could just be me) are the music selection, and the store. I found the selection of songs weaker than past titles, but that is always just a matter of taste. I did have quite a few problems with the store unforunately. Songs I selected wouldnt dowload initially. Or packs wouldn't download completely, some songs would be missing. Now I have to add I was an avid rockband player in the past, bought well over 150+ songs throughout the series, so this problem may just be targeted at people like me importing alot of old songs. It was nice that the game instantaneously recognized (I'm assuming through my PSN account) which songs I had bought in the past, and let me redownload them without a problem. But as I said, some packs I bought in the past would not load in the store. It would repeatedly show a loading bar under price, not allowing me to redownload or if I wanted to, purchase again. And some songs, for example "Thrasher" by Evile, would not redownload despite me downloading the pack it was included in. I actually had to go through the PSN store AND the rockband store, and look at each song individually (Over 2000 songs, TWICE) and download the ones the game forgot to pick up. In the end I wound up finding about 52 songs the game did not download. The other big gripe I have is the lack of support, or attempted support, at porting over RB2 and RB3. RB1 I was able to download into the game, for free, with ease. (Some songs dont carry over but if you consult the website they inform you of this, and what songs they are) but RB2 is shot. If you did not happen to complete the RB2 ---> RB3 port 8 years ago, you're beat. And, regardless of if you already own the the game or not, you must pay an extra $15 to bring RB3 songs over. I feel this was just a cheap tactic to make a couple extra bucks. I find it hard to believe with what they can do today with technology, they could not find some way to detect, or allow you to prove you own a physical copy of RB3. Other than those sort of "targeted complaints" the game is solid and a lot of fun.

I personally haven't played it but, my daughter is really enjoying it. I would've like to have seen a better or longer playlist then what comes out of the box. Not to thrilled about having to buy the songs you'd prefer to play, but artist need their royalties .
